Do you think PvE players deserve access to alliance war skills?

  • flawless4812
I would say no, but since pvp players are going to have access to monster helmets for AP then I'm all for it now since pvp seems to rule this game (it being a small fraction of the actual game size) pve players seem to always get screwed over when pvp players have an issue and it get fixed

How bout they fix the cheeses in some dungeons, how bout they fix the *** tanking nerf dk nerf almost every nerf since it seemed to have been to help make pvp more fun (which it obviously didnt)

Distinction between Pvp'er and Pve'er is completly arbitrary. With the same entitlement I could say - why PvE players must be forced to Collect Lore books if they wish to gain access to Meteor? See where I could go with this?

The game offers different ways of playing the game with particular rewards. You are not forced to pick anyone actually. As advertised - Play the way you like, but don't expect to be granted with everything by only playing one aspect of the game.

Are Pvp ranks too hard to get? That's a different question.

Yeah, PvPers loves to whine about having to do PvE but when PvErs don't want to PvP they love to be the hypocrites and tell them to do something they don't want to do.

actually, you will be able to buy pve items from a pvp vendor pretty soon. so yes, the game is moving a step in the direction that you imply doesn't exist, but would make pve players able to buy pvp stuff more reprehensible if it did exist, which it does.

It is amazing @ZOS_BrianWheeler . It really is amazing that the PVP players get basically what they asked for, but continue to demand more at the expense of PVE players who don't want to PVP for some very good skills in PVE; nobody wants to grind for vigor, caltrops, and barrier over and over.

@ZOS_BrianWheeler , it took me so long to get caltrops that I only got to play with it for a couple of months before a PVP catered nerf (no stamina regeneration while blocking) made me no longer want the skill.

This goes for itemization too @ZOS_RichLambert . By the time we get things in this game we don't even want them anymore. I know quite a few players that, for example, could not get Scathing Mage or Overwhelming and, eventually, it didn't matter because Julianos came out. Now the same thing has happened with Orsinium items. By the time I get those my mostly dwindled interest in this game will be totally gone. What is up with that?

well kinda do have to disagree they did make vigor easer accessable for everyone, used to be assault rank 10.
but given the fact that vendor is comming and they making content like vMSA where as stam user you need vigor to complete it. then im not even speaking the fact how caltrops making live easier in dungeons as tank while tank in pvp is useless^2. so this would only make things more fair. we as community are NOT asking for a handout to the skills. WE ARE LOOKING FOR ALTENATIVE WAYS! this is a large difference. where the pvp players do get their fast handouts with the biggest being the removal of the vet ranks. yes you can emply that it is usefull for the PvE-er aswell but it was the PvP community crying about having to play the actual game heck i have even seen players call the leveling up from lvl 3-50 a grind really?

    It goes beyond that.

Class skill lines take forever to rank up in pvp. I have to do pve to get them.

On a Stam build, you're forced to kill undead and daedra in pve to get flawless dawnbreaker.

Let's not even start with meteor...

There's 4 maybe 5 skills from pvp that are of any real use in pve. Barrier probably being the main. Great for dungeons. Caltrops is nice but not essential for tanking. Vigor is a nice heal, but there is rally for that which is fine in pve. Magica det and purge are useful too but again not essential.

Unless you want to wait months, you have to pve to unlock most skills.

Gear is a seperate issue. Should there be a system that allows pve players to get pvp gear like arch mage, ravager etc? Maybe. That would be comparable to the monster vendor before anyone brings it up...

Begging no i am not. Gear being sold in PvP vendors...HAH so you mean the 1mil AP that is rumored that they will sell for pvpers who refuse to PvE whatsoever (not me i enjoy both) now no longer use their AP for seige weapons and wall repair kits? its bad enough they have motifs in there for 300k as it is.

I say Yes based on one simple fact...

I PVP ONLY! I don't want to level undaunted either. I feel the pain pve player's have as well.

Pvp player's are soon going to be able to buy undaunted helm's from a vendor. Give pve players 50k alliance points a day for doing pledges. Something like this would be nice to have.

I was not aware that my OP contained a suggestion. Kindly point out what part of what I wrote mislead you so that I can address it.

I am not saying that I think PvE players should get access to those skills without PvP'ing, nor am I saying the opposite. I am genuinely interested in knowing the public opinions on this.

As to the OP, I vote no, BUT, I too am mostly a PvE player, and was a solo player at that. I liked PvP, but like most who venture into Cyrodill it was instant death, zergs and lots of "not-so-much-fun. Then after playing IC on PTS, I KNEW I had to have Razor Caltrops, I was 1 rank away from unlocking them, so I was determined to "grind it out". Well in the process, I found a great PvP guild, and now PvP is great! So, Yes! Earn the skills!! It might turn out to be a good thing!!

    I've been thinking.

The alliance war skill line has very good abilities, which can be core parts of certain builds even if they are PvE builds.

I for example, a mostly PvE player, know that no amount of PvE content in the world will get me any closer to the 'Magicka Detonation' alliance rank 7 ability, and in order to boost my PvE performance, I must grind PvP content which I enjoy far less, and do so for a very long time, much longer than I'm prepared to.

To you PvP players: when answering this poll, please be honest with yourselves and try and imagine first, what would you feel like if key abilities for many builds such as Vigor and Proximity Detonation would require you to grind mobs endlessly. Would you feel that it is just?

Yes because they can be used in PvE as well or make PvP skills just for PvP...

Comparing alliance war skills to pve gear with the fundamental difference pvp gear was never bop and could be obtained by simply buying stuff - for associated skills you have/had/should always play the content.

If YES, then can PVP players access undaunted skill without complete dungeons or dungeon quests?

The two are not even comparable.

You can grind all the undaunted ranks in a matter of weeks. The Alliance War skills take MONTHS of PVP tedium that most players simply can't STAND.

Undaunted skills are pretty much meaningless and unnecessary waste of skillpoints, aside from the rank 2 taunt for tanks that you pretty much get just killing delve monsters while leveling.

Alliance war skills like Vigor are needed by stamina builds to even attempt VMA, which is top level PVE content. Yet it is locked behind a 4 month PVP grind.

    BS.
