Do you think PvE players deserve access to alliance war skills?

I've been thinking.

The alliance war skill line has very good abilities, which can be core parts of certain builds even if they are PvE builds.

I for example, a mostly PvE player, know that no amount of PvE content in the world will get me any closer to the 'Magicka Detonation' alliance rank 7 ability, and in order to boost my PvE performance, I must grind PvP content which I enjoy far less, and do so for a very long time, much longer than I'm prepared to.

To you PvP players: when answering this poll, please be honest with yourselves and try and imagine first, what would you feel like if key abilities for many builds such as Vigor and Proximity Detonation would require you to grind mobs endlessly. Would you feel that it is just?

How do you level it up without doing any PVP. Ain't no one getting barrier or caltrops without sweating it out. None of the other abilities are remotely useful at the moment.

I don't even see how this could be brought up. I busted my ass as a pve player to work towards vigor, I've fell in love with pvp and will work my way higher.

Even if you don't fall in love with pvp, you shouldn't just be handed a skill line because you feel entiteld. People *** and moan about how long it takes to rank up in pvp. Get with a decent group (they're out there people) and work as a team to complete objectives and taking keeps.

No. PVP players should be forced to do pve content for the skills and gear....why. ...well let's say the Prison, WGT, COA vet. is far harder than just zerging and rolling over keeps and ganking level 10s trying to get a few stones. Anyone can roll with a mob but only a few can turn over the warden repeatedly for the helm and overwhelming / scathing sets on V16. Plus decent gear you can just do your research for decent sets after waiting 2 months for it to do 5 pieces.

Why do those level 10s need TV stones.

PvP players have to "grind" PvE content for certain skills too. It's fair. I actually like that system. It forces you to at least try out another aspect of the game, which you might otherwise ignore completely, and who knows...you might find that you enjoy it more than you thought you would.

I was strictly anti-PvP until I was "forced" to do it in order to get Caltrops and Vigor. Turns out, I had a lot of fun. Now I do both, and I enjoy the game that much more.

The constant re-specs and resetting CP sucks though. That's my biggest beef. You can't play both to your fullest potential on one character without that constabt flip/flop.

    These are rewards for pvping.

These rewards are already available to everyone.

You have the same opportunity already to go get them.

If you want Proxy det then suck it up and go pvp.

personally someone who does both i feel only the damage dealing skills are quite impactful outside cyrodiil, like calatrops and detination for... you guessed it... AoE farming.
if anything i feel outside Cyrodiil these types of damage skills should be weakened when not near the war effort
PLEASE REPLY TO ME WITH @dsalter otherwise i'm likely to miss the reply if its not my own thread

PVP players could get their progress in Undaunted skill line by doing Kill Enemy Players, Capture Resource, Capture Scroll and other quests but they would not gain Undaunted keys that way.
PVE players could get their progress in Assault and Support skill lines by doing Undaunted pledges.

I was not aware that my OP contained a suggestion. Kindly point out what part of what I wrote mislead you so that I can address it.

I am not saying that I think PvE players should get access to those skills without PvP'ing, nor am I saying the opposite. I am genuinely interested in knowing the public opinions on this.

Wasn't sure whether to vote agree or awesome on this one. I used to mainly PvE as well, but decided to give PvP a go for vigor. Totally fell in love with it also.
I also agree no one should just be handed a skill line because they want it. Most of the passives would be pretty much useless to them anyway because a lot are only activated after taking keeps or resources.

Should we have all the Undaunted skills without having to do dungeons?

Should we have all the Fighters Guild skills available without having to do the missions then grind Dolmens?

Should we have all the Mages Guild skill available without having to do the missions then hunting for books?

Should we have access to all the Vampire and Werewolf skills without having to become them?
