What is the point of subscribing?

Is it just for the crowns? Because i've subbed since day 1 and i cancelled it a few weeks ago. Is there really any reason to subscribe any more?

Well, its basically the same as buying 1500 crown pack every month+dlcs and some exp boost (which is nice if you're leveling).

No, unless you buy the DLC.

If you don't subscribe any more and you didn't use crowns to buy orsinium dlc then yes you will lose it.

I waffle on keeping my subscription. But since you get 1500 crowns with it, I'm essentially getting the value there. If they ever decreased it to 1000 crowns, I'd probably drop it, since I don't find the ESO Plus perks worth anything. As others mentioned, it's cheaper to just buy the crowns for the DLC, especially if they run another crown sale for something in the future.

Nope. Not as far as I'm concerned. That's why I started this thread here: http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/150450/eso-subscription-benefits-suggestions/p1

Being that I posted my thread Feb 5th and there have been a good number of threads discussing the viability of ESO+ I think it's safe to assume that ZOS is happy with how ESO+ is now... or at least happy with their plans for the system. They have said they are going add Crafting Bags to the ESO+ Subscription, but we do not yet know how. I discuss that here:

    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/212349/an-idea-for-how-crafting-bags-could-be-implemented-for-eso-members
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

What dlc? well if you subbed to get access you loose access after dropping the sub. So you pay 45$ every three months to loose the dlc after you stop paying. I've paid 25 to 30 for them to keep them forever. The bonus xp and gold isn't worth it to me since i don't buy mounts and stuff. If you do buy mounts maybe the sub would be better since you get the bonus crowns

Crafting Bags will be a new section of your inventory that will hold your Crafting Materials, thus keeping the materials from cluttering your Bag and Bank. How large the bag will be in terms of space remains to be said, but hopefully large enough to hold all the different types of materials in the game!

Doing it like PWE does with Neverwinter may be good.

You simply buy a certain number of VIP ranks for sub-like benefits. The benefits that come with the ranks you keep forever while some other features only come with sub (I think bonus xp is one).

Glad I came by this thread.
I've been subscribing AND buying the DLC.
    I know, I know, I don't need to buy DLC when sub'd, but that's how I roll.

    The Crowns?
Not enough to buy anything decent unless you let them sit there a couple of months.

    The 10% xp bonus...
would I even notice if I didn't have it?
I'm v16 so the xp boost is not so alluring anymore.

Well, I think I just talked myself out of re-upping my sub.

Isn't it simply a support-the-game gesture at this point pretty much? You support them because...well, just because you like them so much I guess, they give you some nice insignificant perks in return.

I'm not gonna pay ZOS for the work they don't do anymore. I'm buying the dlcs, that is it.

I haven't managed to stick with a Character since I started before the crown store in May 2014. I never even went past level 20, but that's changed since I moved from PC to Xbox One and subscribed to the Xbox One version as my current PC can no longer play games. I've since got my Orc Templar to level 20 and I find the extra 10% exp gain, the crowns, and the DLC together to be very useful. Thankfully I was one of the PC transfer people, so all my hard earned stuff was not lost, allthough I wish they would add that as a buyable service to the crown store, so I can get my clouded senche that I got later after the transfer.

It's interesting how players are willing to buy a DLC but won't subscribe because they don't feel like actively supporting the game and thus, not actively encouraging it's continuance. So... if ESO doesn't make money and closes down, what good are those DLCs that you bought?

I subscribe because I want the game to continue and I know they are working to try and improve the game. Plus, the benefits aren't bad- I've seen worse in other MMOs that offer an optional subscription... and that 10% XP gain suddenly becomes 60% if you use XP Scrolls. For those already at the top, this might not mean much- although it also works for CP leveling as well- so I'd still think those who aren't CP maxed would appreciate the extra XP boost.

If they add the crafting bag for subscribers, I think this will help to add further value to subscriptions... at least it could help alleviate the necessity for mules or additional accounts for extra crafting storage.

As with others that have posted above, I enjoy the game enough to fully support it's future & so I have continued my subscription. It is really a very small amount of money for a lot of entertainment. I also like to have a stash of phat crowns on hand to buy respecs & motifs.

Not really... I'm like you and I also cancelled my subscription. They don't really give any incentive to subscribe, and they're not introducing enough interesting content to make it worth my while. It's just cheaper for me to purchase individual DLCs if I decide to do so.

    >.> hmm should I also mention subscribing removes 10% of the research time on traits? I guess so.

So I mean there's also that, I mean that would save you a week's worth of research time per trait, so in total that would save you approximately over half a month's worth of time waiting on research times.

Just added it because no one else mentioned it.

I intent to stay subscribed for the following reasons:

    - I enjoy to have access to all DLC without "buying them"
    - I like to be able to buy mounts, costumes, pets, etc with the extra crown
    - I'm happy to support Zenimax and show that I appreciate their game

This is a personal choice. Find out what's best for you.
