Each dungeon would then have a recommended gear rating.

Dungeons used to have level requirements, but as Matt Firor said in a recent interview, "A few updates ago we removed the level requirement for dungeons, which was hugely popular, and now we are extending that concept to overland zones as well, via DLC."

So I doubt they will replace something they already removed with basically the same thing that restricts access. Whether it be level requirement or gear requirement, it is the same thing... it limits and restricts players' access to content and that has proven hugely unpopular.

    1. So we got to spend more money to communicate those who are too lazy to use their headset
    2. It's not very effective in a zerg group when a the group leader giving out commands like every 2 seconds.
    3. For dungeon, trials and dsa, who has time to type out how the mechanics work to new player. While in battle do you want to type out to your group to block, dodge or attack a certain addss or boss?
    1. Some people would have to buy a headset and it has nothing to do with being lazy. Using a headset is far more lazy seeing as how all you have to do is talk.
    2. We never said anything about removing voice chat, just giving us an alternative means to communicate. Of course in a fight everyone should be in the voice channel to listen to what is going on.
    3. Once again, when you are in a fight use voice chat. Text chat isn't for being able to explain things mid-fight, it is used so you don't have to listen and try to talk over 100 people at once in populated areas. When you're in a zone and need help beating a boss or finishing a quest, you can ask for help and everyone can see it, not just people in your vicinity with area chat on. You can sell things without a trader, find groups easier, find guilds easier, link items, ask questions, socialize without talking over 50 people and that one guy being an *** blaring hiphop music... The list goes on, there are tons of things that text chat is good for. You people that are against it are pretending like no one will use voice chat anymore and it's a waste of time when it's not. People will still use it, for your dungeons, trials, pvp, that sort of thing. You can still talk in the middle of battle, but typing isn't viable in a fight. Stop thinking voice chat will be taken away if they implement text chat, it just gives us more ways to communicate.

Currently you can't chat with your guild unless you're in that channel, if there are tons of people in it, it's hard to carry on a conversation and be heard. Text chat allows everyone to be heard.

While the idea of inspecting peoples armor sounds good... It just brings me back to the good ol' days of monster hunter elitism, and those people can be absolute pricks... I would hate to see this game go in that direction.

    2. Capture the scroll:
We need basic timed pvp games, open world pvp is nice but not the end all. I would pvp alot more if I could sign up for a 30-90 minuet games through a group finder.
My idea is a mini 30v30 2 sided cryodiil on a 60 min. Timer. No cp allowd. No campaigns, game does not start without a full roster. This is stratagy teamwork and skilled based not CP. New players would be able to pvp right away and ENJOY IT. Console would NEED text chat for this.
Would anyone else like this pvp mode?

If you watched the latest ESO Live episode, they mentioned that they are working on one.

They are also contemplating a smaller 3-sided battleground.

Just remember, when they release new content, it needs to fit with the contents release. For example, 2-sided battlegrounds may appear in areas between each faction, bordering Cyrodiil. 3-sided would need some deep thought process on how to implement it to fit with the game lore and mechanics.

That's all nice and good(can't imagine how you poor console people live without textchat and addons that show battle numbers/statistics o_o) except the inspect part. There's absolutely no need for that. Literally only thing it could do is lead to more elitism. Besides, at this point of the game you can probably clear most dungeons naked if you know what you're doing(I even remember videos of naked Trials runs from a while ago), and not even gold v16 armor of FotM set with v16 gold enchantment etc will save you if you just like standing in the red. If you are really bothered by pugs wearing wrong gear, don't pug. If you, on the contrary, would like advice yourself, just ask for it, I'm sure there're plenty of people here willing to do that without kicking you from the group first when they find out what you're wearing.
And my character is wearing v16 gold FotM gear by the way, but that's still an awful idea.

I'm not for an inspect option at all. I've discussed this before and feel its something better avoided. Ok, sure a lot of people want to know what others are rocking to either A) copy their builds one for one or B) discriminate against them when it comes to grouping. If you really want to know if someone is good or not, just play with them a little bit.

IF you have spent enough time in the game, you'd know there are people that can do end content in rubbish gear and ALSO people in VR16 Legendary gear that are still struggling to get through Dark Shade......

Worry about your own gear... no to inspect option.

Try finding a raid group in DCUO with anything other than the highest level gear, you'll find yourself kicked out real quick, even if you are a better player than others with superior gear

    What? You're not Quantum? Kick.
What? Your DPS is 1k lower than mine? Kick.
What? Your DPS is higher than mine? Kick.
    What? No mods? Kick.
What? You're CR is 1 below the maximum? Kick.

Sadly I don't think DCUO players really care about why they're kicking, they make up their minds to kick then find the reasons.

You don't sound very logical, or sound like you've ever played an mmo besides eso on console if you don't know what text chat is for.

text chat in MMOs are typically used out of combat for trading and grouping since it can reach a much larger group of people than voice chat. While in the dungeon or "zerg", players then switch to voice chat for quick communication.

    Inspect option? Can you elaborate?

WWouldnt it cause some players to be ostracized due to their gear not being what someone else feels is good enough? Leaving them left out of learning how to PvP?

    Or motivated to get better

Motivated to get better by being flamed on for playing the "wrong" armor type? For using the "wrong" set? Bollocks. I hope they never bring it up.

This has to be a joke, how about right next to you for when you need it...
I allready have a wireless keyboard i use with my ps4 when i have to message people through the menu which is all the time. Normaly to tell the scrubs to join chat to listen before they ruin the vet run. If someone ruins my run by not doing somthing simple they are "scrubby" not even an insault, just a state of being.

Chat should be able to be turned off. once you have everyone in teamspeak ready to go there is no reason for it. it's every moment out of battle that it is needed.

That's exactly my experience. Was in a four-person alert once, after carrying them through two of the bosses (eg. picking them up several times), get to a third and we die... I didn't think anything of it, it was the first death we had. We respawn and suddenly I find myself kicked. Of course, two of the four were in the same league... so in that four-person situation, only takes two to kick someone and no doubt they probably did it to invite one of their own leaguemates in. Go figure. DCUO I found to be an overall toxic environment and do not want to see ESO head down the same toxic elitism path.

I see how some think it could be toxic, but in end game people should get at least one gear set if they want to be decent and not be carried through everything. Maybe an inspect option that only shows your set perks.

    1. I am vehemently against an inspect feature. I absolutely do not want to sit around critiquing people's gear, as I've done in so many other games. I do not want to discriminate or be discriminated against due to gear. I'm a higher-tier player but I'm also a privacy advocate. Keep the snoops out of my pack!! This is one feature that would greatly and tremendously hurt the game.

    2. We definitely need some queued battlegrounds or other minimatches but I don't like your idea on what they should be. 60-90 minute games? lol that's so awkward... Quick-fun HOUR AND A HALF match...

No comment on the console plebicities...

you said you agreed with me on minigames and queued battlegrounds.
maybe they will add 3 hour and 5 hour matches for guild only elite players.
I dont see how a mini cyrodiil would be fun if it was less than an hour.
compared to loading into a campaign and running around like a chicken with you head off for an hour before any action starts. I joined a pvp guild but we will only run one night a week. PVP now is a headache without a huge guild.
compared to regular pvp and hour and a half is short.....
    I stand by my idea!

maybe a single castle scroll/flag option would be less then 30 mins.
