Bye bye legendary rings and ammy. If we have a 100% chance to drop a weapon now we don't have a chance at legendary jewelry........ GG zos.
Because unlike weapons, jewelry cannot be upgraded
It doesn't really matter if I get a golden weapon from the mail or a purple one from the chest. If it's the right weapon with the right trait, I gladly buy 8 tempering things. But I can only get purple jewelry and need to live with it.
I rather get golden jewelry from the mails than golden weapons.
Which sets from Orsinium are you interested in? I personally think they're all lackluster.

I want 2 Winterborn rings, because they offer me ~200 more Magicka than V14 healer ringsOnly for the 1 piece trait
Did anyone get more than one drop from this? Or are we all stuck with a weapon every week now?
I think it is BS if we can no longer get Golden Rings/Neck because it screws a lot of the sets over otherwise.
I got my Third defending Maelstrom Axe this week. At least this one has a chance at giving me a Tempering Alloy....
We don't have any way of saying without knowing which definition they're using to determine if a shield is a weapon or armour
As they are literally crafted under the ARMOR tab at Woodworking and the TRAITS you need to learn are ARMOR TRAITS NOT weapon traits - how on Earth are you so confused? It's armor.
We are not ignoring anything guys. Seriously Joe, UrQuan and everyone else that is arguing this point.
YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YOU CAN BASH WITH IT WE KNOW! HOWEVER it is under the armor line, it is crafted like armor, and is why I expected to get a weapon.
ZOS nerfed the shield back in May of 2014 because at one time it caused as much damage as a weapon. ZOS's position at that time is that a SHIELD was to be used for defense to block!
None of our points matter anyway it is ZOS that gets to make that final decision.
@ZOS_GinaBruno , @ZOS_RichLambert PLEASE RESPOND
They obviously meant "Maelstrom items" in the patch notes, you're arguing semantics because you didn't get the item you wanted.
There are probably a bunch of people who got a staff and were annoyed it wasn't the shield, just be glad you got a maelstrom item rather than junk they formally handed out.
Tarvy & UrQuan get it...
We shouldn't be argueing 'is it a weapon or armor'... because the game treats it as both in different circumstances...
What Tarvy stated is 100% correct... clearly just an example of poorly worded patchnotes, which if pushed ZoS will inevitably come here and say 'We meant Maelstrom items'... in exactly the same way that 'Master items' dropped from DSA.
If you want to argue something then let it be about what specific Maelstrom items you want in the weekly.
Although considering the limited opportunities in game to aquire these I think it exceptionally unlikely ZoS will remove them....

Mechanically, in the code Shields are Weapons since they are equipped in the Weapon slots. For nearly all Design purposes however, Shields are Armor. This is a special case set up that causes issues now and then.
That said, we are going to change how Shields from the Weekly Reward table are given out. When you get a Maelstrom item that improves Low Slash, in the One Hand and Shield weapon skill line, you will also receive a Maelstrom Shield. You will no longer receive a Maelstrom Shield as its own reward.

During my haze of insomnia I said same and basically got called an idiot but with a lot more words.

Why isn't there a true Maelstrom Shield with a unique 1 piece bonus like the other Maelstrom gear?

how long are you going to beat the horse about tanks being nerfed? everyone has moved on, there is no changes going to be reverted to stamina regen and there doesn't need to be.Personofsecrets wrote: »I've been trying to tell you all about tanking being crappy for a long time now. We tried to tell you
We tried to tell you
We tried to tell you, but @ZOS_RichLambert and others did the bare minimum to buff the tanking sets. Needless to say they are crappy and now everyone, tank or otherwise, will get crappy feeling moments because of it.

Why not willpower? :-)
I just love it when people conveniently ignore facts that don't support their position. It's part of a weapon skill line, and you can attack with it. It's a weapon. It's also armour. In some ways the game treats it as one, and in some ways the game treats it as the other. Pretending otherwise is ridiculous.I just explained this.
OR slide a shield onto your arm then use a weapon in that hand.
It is armor and has always been armor so please stop saying you equip it in a weapon slot when technically, that slot HAS A SHIELD IMAGE ON IT.
You make it in the armor tab and you equip it in a multi-purpose gear slot.
There.

@Castle are we still able to get the gold rings and necklaces from the rewards. maybe have a 40% chance to drop with a weapon?
