ZOS should sell gold in the Crownstore :o

Or they could just use the DSA system. You know, the one that was already working?

@Alcast you're a good player and I appreciate the stuff you do... but this is a terrible idea as many have already pointed out. It would finally make ESO fully P2W and alienate a vast majority of players including myself.

All the BoP limitations in the last patch has crippled the income of elite PvE'ers who were used to getting a couple of very high value vDSA rewards every time it's the weekly, not to mention endgame sets like Healer and Momento sets that they can farm much more efficiently than casual players. The lack of tradeable items explains why the value of crafting materials keeps going up, because many people have lots of gold, but they cannot buy what they want, thus the value of whatever can still be bought goes up in value.

The economy is not particularly healthy at the moment. In an ideal world PvP'ers, PvE'ers and farmers should all have the opportunity to make a reasonable income from whatever they do, but the solution isn't to make the game P2W. You feel like you are struggling for gold because you are used to being able to obtain multiple sets of endgame gear and upgrading it to legendary, but your primary source of income has been blocked.

However what you don't seem to realise is that 1) pure PvP'ers have been poor for ages until IC came out, and even so, it can be argued that farming Imperial Sewers is basically PvE anyway. 2) There have always been people like me who have never struggled to make gold (And no I almost never farm anything for gold), from my perspective, the economy is far from dead, and in fact my trade guild continues to sell 100M+ per week, which is still significantly higher than pre-IC days.

My point is that the economy has changed in a way that has been negative for you. I don't particularly like the changes but I adapted. You must either adapt, or accept that you'll have to do with playing more frugally (perhaps epic gear rather than legendary) until zenimax gives elite PvE'ers another edge for you to make tonnes of gold like pre-IC.

I don't know why you just don't do like other top players in other MMOs have been doing forever and offer your skills to other players in the form of "carries" for in game gold/mats ect.

    For example:
Today's (NA) Vet daily is Imperial City Prison.
MANY casual players can't get their Veteran mode complete or skill point and have no chance of completing through the group finder or pugging from zone chat. This is where you and your crack team of uber players comes in. You carry their dead carcass through the instance for a sum of gold or whatever. YOU get to "play the game" (instead of picking flowers) or maybe you might even enjoy the challenge by effectively 3-manning "harder" content, they, the "buyer" gets a guaranteed gold key, skill point, and dungeon complete achievement (if they didn't have them.) This actually solves 2 problems, someone who wants the "harder" vet daily, gets it, and you make gold or whatever.
I get the impression from your YouTube videos and Tamrial Foundry posts that you like to help other players, so maybe think of the carries as more of a "paid training run". They pay you, and you help them complete and show them how it's really done.

This could also apply to things like Hard mode Serpent achievement, AA/HRC/VetDSA and other group achievements solo focused or casual players have about a f***all's chance of getting.

I disagree. no one would sell anything. all prices would skyrocket up. economy would collapse.

Yea, I really don't know why some players aren't helping others complete content in an entrepreneurial way. Imagine people buying a vMA no death. One could probably sell that for at least 500k.

You wouldn't be able to do that as it would violate the TOS since you'd have to "share" an account...
    /wink.

But for instance dragging someone though VDSA for a fee is perfectly legal. @Alcast and Hodor are well known and would likely have 0 issues putting this to good use, and honestly, this would have an added benefit of reducing the pool of clueless Quers from the dungeon finder pool.

I must disagree....there are MANY ways to make money in this game. The only limitation is you. The first 100k was hard won. but after that it has been pretty easy to reach current 4 million. And I keep my flowers for personal use. I don't farm to sell goods, I sell goods that I gain from general game play.

The only reason I'd accept gold sales through ZoS is with time cards being able to be sold through ingame markets IF AND ONLY IF we get another pandemic of multi boxing gold farmers ruining gameplay.

As far as I know I haven't seen a single one for a year+ so there's no need for ZoS to sell gold.

I think account sharing is OK as long as no activity occurs on the account that violates the ToS.

And... fyi traders actually provide a useful service for the economy. Also very few people actually trade exclusively. Gold is the means to an end, not an end in itself. I am probably the (one of the) richest player on EU PC, but I actually PvP and PvE as well as just trade.

While its very sad to see "this game is screwed up, it might as wel just burn in fire"-type comments from good players, its quite obvious that Zos' ideas about grindwalls and making everything BoP failed miserably.
Before IC patch, those who did a lot of DSA/Sanctum runs could at least afford repairs, potions and new gear. vMA seems to be a giant gold sink and the only way to obtain gold is to grind mats... Which is really stupid.

    Nope. Nopity. No. Nooooooo.
Selling in game currency for real currency is one sure method way of making a game go down the drain. Such an option would screw with the in-game economy, screw with the new player perception of the game and ultimately herald how the game will continue to over rely on the crown store just to make a (temporary) quick buck.

In the long run it will be disastrous.

ZOS doesn't sell gold but they hold closed door guild meetings with trading guilds that do.

There was a thread where one of these trade guild leaders bragged about how much money he made selling gold. ZOS closed it shortly afterwards but thats why we have trading guilds running this game in the shadows. They make real money from it.

I have always taken that statement to mean that the practice of account sharing is prohibited as is commonplace in every other MMO, buy I am no lawyer so share at your own risk.

But back to the point, I am sure all those vMA runs didn't run cheap and I think that instead of playing the "market", @Alcast 's tri-pot, Tempurs, and Kuta addiction can be fueled by my proposal from earlier.
