ZOS doesn't sell gold but they hold closed door guild meetings with trading guilds that do.

There was a thread where one of these trade guild leaders bragged about how much money he made selling gold. ZOS closed it shortly afterwards but thats why we have trading guilds running this game in the shadows. They make real money from it.

    lol wut?!

I run the best trade guild in EU, somebody pls invite me to these secret meetings so that I can get real life $$$!!

The only thing Neverwinter has done that I think is great and would be awesome in eso, is a open market gold for crowns.

They have, what is similar to wall street, is an exchange market where you can post how much gold you want per crown and then if someone wants to make said deal, they just purchases your crowns through the market.

This allows free players (like myself at the time) use in game currency to make purchases, and those with no time their money to get in game currency. I personally spent 200 dollars worth of crowns in that game without spending a single dime of my real money.

So the company made 200 bucks and I got a dlc and a spider mount. Seems like a win win

Alchemy needs to be buffed, 2 per node, 4 if you get lucky through the CP passive.

I pay 100,000+ gold on alchemy materials every week, which was never a problem until IC killed the economy. As Alcast put it, in todays game you really need to start picking flowers. The ESO Depression is a struggle to live through, my bank was approaching 3 million prior to IC release, now i'm selling anything and everything i have left just to keep playing.

Anyone on PS4 NA that needs a Vet Maelstrom completed on a magicka templar, send me a message and lets try to work out a deal. I need gold, and im sure you would love the achievements/master weapons

Gold is not disappearing from the game. Well some of it is via repairs etc... but gold is also constantly being made. My point is that the total volume of gold is not decreasing... it has just been redistributed.

Before IC elite PvE'ers were rich cos they could obtain endgame gear that could be sold much more efficiently than anyone else. IC created a brief boom for those that worked out how to farm IC vault trophies efficiently, which was mostly PvP'ers, but eventually most of them moved back to Cyrodil for proper PvP.

All the BoP *** means that pure PvE'ers are struggling to obtain stuff to sell, which means gold has become redistributed from PvE'ers towards IC sewer farmers, nirn/roe/flower etc... farmers and traders like me that can make gold as long as the game has a relatively free economy.

Huh? Hell no.It's not hard to make money ingame,if you work at it.You probably would want a lot more things be bought in the store too.
If we bought gold ingame, what is the use of crafting, hunting, gathering mats, etc? They would be not worth a dime anymore.

Ok, first off, while I understand some people have trouble adapting to the newer guild store system, that is no reason to say guild traders are outright useless in making money for you. Even minor guilds can get a mildly decent kiosk every now and again (not in Rawl'kha or anything, but Skywatch and Woodhearth come to mind.). And if you have no kiosk at all? Do what I do and either trade with people who do have access to kiosks or just trade in zone.

Second off, even if you didn't participate in the guild system at all, there are still several ways to attain gold in-game without interacting with another player. There is a reason junk items exist. Do dungeon runs, kill and loot monsters, gather and sell mats you don't use. Even if you are using game merchants, it is still possible to gain a heft sum of gold purely from the game itself.
I managed to sustain my entire first playthrough using this method (and I decently leveled all 3 of my horses, got max bank upgrades and maxed my bag space. All from the base game without participating in player trading at all).
