just a matter of personal opinion.
Well...it depends on how much ya like a 2.5 GCD on virtually every skill in the game...I personally don't care for it..hence why i don't play FF
Well since I have played both I'll chime in, it is just a matter of taste. But in my opinion FFXIV has a way more polished game and listens to its customer base way more than ZOS ever has, *** for a year the director gave letters to its loyal fan base detaling what was coming, changes that was going to be made and listened to the feedback of the people. How awesome is that to have a company that ultimatley is out for the dollars, but did it right. I mean with that game they have AWESOME customer communication and that spoke volumes. How many games can rise from the ashes like FFXIV has done? Complete rehaul and because they were open and honest people were willing to join in and come back. ZOS will never do that, they are a company that only sees the consumer as something to be consumed. Their UI, [snip] unbewievable, so many options, that each player can tune to how they like it, and no one can say "IT IS BREAKING MUH IMMERZIONZZZZ." Why do you ask? Because it is an OPTION which people have the OPTION to turn on or off. I mean come on giving the customers who purchase the game the ability to choose how they want to play UNCANNY *rolls eyes*. For the style, I am able to say so long as the art is good I like it, so if it is cartoony but well done I am please, if it is realisitic and well dont I am happy. So for me FFXIV was a slam dunk. In fact as silly as this sounds when ESO was coming out my Elezen was greyish blue in colour and I was trying to play off that my Dunmer character was someone shipwrecked from Eorzea and was going to play that way, LOL I know silly. I played a Scholar and loved them to pieces. But the game to me was too cut up small zoned, fate training to max level, shout in town hub based, token grind pile of crap that even behind all the polish I still was unhappy.
ESO has a beautiful world, well crafted, it feels like a world that I am exploring, honestly I have the feeling of hugeness at times that I had when I played FFXI with no chocobo. Well maybe not that huge, the run to Jeuno was pretty angry and goblins chase you pretty damn far. Just because you are level 15 and mobs in that game are level 12 don't get it twisted they'll still beat your ass. But for as much *** as I love about this game their is an equal amount of hate and I'll give the hate a bit more weight. Between they disparity between PC and Console, which FFXIV/Square kept in check, I already feel like a second class consumer. Also the lack of UI option is a joke and only points to sheer laziness. Top it off they have the most single player MMO I have ever experiencesd, *** half the time I think I am playing a single player rpg. I mean no text chat, come on, not even an option, seriously, all them morons saying "MUH IMMURZIONS BE RUINED," are *** stupid. Had ZOS gone the route of making it an option then no one would be saying *** right now but ZOS is too damn stupid and would rather say "WE WANT TO BE THE UNIQUE BUTTERFLY (and *** everything up) SO THAT WE CAN BE UNIQUE AND SPECIAL (in the head)." instead of listening to the consumers.
So honestly in my opinion if you want and MMO that feels like and MMO, where there is polish and no playerbase be it console or PC feels second, top it off with *** INCREADIBLE COMPANY COMMUNICATION then go with SquareEnix. However, if you want an MMO that feels like a single player game, with very little polish and a company that makes both crouds feel second playce (PC cries saying they are the BETA testers, Consoles cry saying they get the shaft), and a company with *** ass *** horrible damn terribad communication to its' customers then go with ZOS.

2.5 GCD is the baseline. It's lowered by stats and abilities, some jobs can get it close to 1s in fact. There are also several off-GCD skills that are on independant CD's.

Having played a level 50 paladin in that game, I can tell you the amount of abilities not on the gcd was small, and there was no way to really lower the GCD back then..the game felt incredibly slow and painful to play.

"ZOS will never do that, they are a company that only sees the consumer as something to be consumed."
And the saddest part is that they are using Bethesda's signature game series to do it.

Black Desert is already released in my country... Yeah, at first it might seem interesting, but actually its a boring grindfest (seriously, all eso grinds cannot compete with grindyness of that game) and p2w. Also this game is pretty low in Asian mmo charts already and it has very bad reputation in Russia because the developer apparently sold the license to some scammers and havent done anything to solve that situation.

The game was so buggy then you couldn't go alot of places in starter islands and not find a group trying to finish a quest. Now it has improved ten fold. I have played Rift and FFIV and WoW and Tera and a few other MMO'S. I am ADD/ADD and games lose my interest easily. ESO holds my attention the most. The art the play style questing PvP the community in game. If you dislike cartoonish mmo's then ESO is a good choice. Catapults and trebuchet and battering rams really don't fit in the others nor would ESO races. So I will stay with ESO.
