Um .... I'm assuming you mean for PC and there is the 3rd party client TeamSpeak 3 PC users use for teamspeak. Now ZOS said that they are working on porting over consoles TS into ESO but most player say no rush on that cause again PC players use TS3. But IMO ESO having there own TS could be better cause won't have to deal with the hassle of setting up TS3 and all that such as finding a room or paying for one ect ect.

Agreed as I said it would allow faster party set ups and all that but it's not really on the top of the very very long to-do list for ZOS.

what about the people who are hearing impared?
every few seconds in zone chat it shows people demanding that others use thier team speak as manditory to even join thier group. this is really cruel to people who are born deaf.

For those hearing impaired it's not a real problem as text chat is still available, you just need to let the group leader know so he can compensate. But I really hate leading groups without the ability to use voice, typing and combat really don't mix.

3rd party apps for voice are great for guild and static groups, but it's not really pug friendly who just want to form and go. I do believe though that it is something they are looking at especially with the consoles having that feature.

I asked about it many moons ago.

    Umm NO.

ZoS does not need another thing to take up development and bug fixing money.

In case you missed the memo. There are plenty of other third party programs to fill what you need, including the one you mentioned Teamspeak ( https://www.teamspeak.com/teamspeak3), Mumble ( http://www.mumble.com/get-mumble.php?gclid=COf0g9iaoskCFdgDgQodXr4FwA ), Dolby Axon ( https://axon.dolby.com/ ), etc

Should they ever be stupid enough to integrate this feature into the PC version of the game, I hope they charge for it.

That was my point how a built in TS could make things alot easier and again ZOS is working on it to transfer it on over and vise versa with text for console. But again something like this isn't exactly at the top of the to-do list for ZOS

'Talk to group' similar on console =/= easier. For a lot of PC users, teamspeak (or mumble, vent, raidcall, gamevox etc.) are enough for peer to peer comms (and can possibly argued to be even better than what ZOS could implement). There are various features on these comms that are not readily available for current console voice comms.

While it may be handy in the future, current plans doesn't give it the highest priority or even a place in the development agenda.

As others have said, we got TS3, perfect for guilds and shizzle.

But if people do not want to pay for a TS server, then there other alternatives.

Use Skype, Mumble is another great one, free to use and decent quality, Vent etc.

3rd party application require you to give details for others to join. An in built voice chat application is for when groups set up the game sets up a group voice chat channel automatically so you don't have to give out IP address and ports and hope that the people in your group have the same application you are using. It is PUG friendly.

If you are in a guild or static group then skype, mumble, TS and Vent are great.

PUGs, then an inbuilt voice chat would make life a lot easier.

You can just use ts or any other voice chat program.
And I would absolutely hate if they introduce console voice chat for pc version. Because I dont wanna hear randoms heavily breathing/eating/fapping/listening to the music/whatever and also because I'm a female player and I dont wanna be harrased and catcalled by stupid teenagers. I've heard that its a serious problem on consoles.

No, it doesn't work that way. Once you introduce something like this, it becomes the expectation that everyone will use it. Players using voice obviously won't repeat everything in chat, so by opting to stay out of chat you effectively isolate yourself from the rest of the group. Been there, done that. Didn't work.
Now personally I have nothing against other players preferring to use voice comms. That's their prerogative. Most guilds seems to insist on it, so I no longer bother with guilds. If it became the norm in pugs too, then I simply wouldn't bother with pugs.

Actually as a raid leader in DDO, it was my responsibility to find out who could hear me or who couldn't. Then with those that couldn't make sure that they were familiar with the quest/raid and were happy to follow visual cues. If the quest/raid involved splitting up, I make sure that those that couldn't hear knew well in advance what was going to happen.

You don't need a mic, so you don't have to talk. But it's good for raid/group leaders to be able to talk so that can give commands rapidly and still be able to fight. There is nothing more I hate having to deal with fighting and typing at the same time. Nothing slows down a battle more then having to type out what you intend to do next.

Voice comms are a necessity for high-level play in ESO. This is recognized and why VOIP services are provided by ZOS for the console gamers.

For PC players, we have a buttload of options for VOIP. Even free ones (discord FTW, google it for a free VOIP server for you and your friends, no download required)

The cost of providing (REDUNDANT) VoIP services for PC players is not worth the benefit. If you don't have a TS or a Mumble server for your guild, get yourselves a discord room. I would rather not see ZOS dump a bunch of money into the infrastructure required for in-game VoIP when the majority of players will just continue to use their guild's TS or Mumble server...

Those of you who do not have a TS or Mumble server, just go get a discord. It's free and super quick and easy.

Maybe, but considering the vast majority of the player base never even come to the forums, I doubt it, plus most people who do want to communicate more effectively in groups, raids etc, use a whole host of voip applications like the ones I mentioned.

Plus many for other reasons do not like using voip programs, to communicate more effectively even when there is a good reason too, e.g PvP or raids or w/e.

Umm.. played Lotro for 7 years.. and the voice chat was the WORST POSSIBLE solution they put into the game. It was buggy. It created a ton of unneeded software overhead to the game. Plus basically was ignored by any raid guild that had not already abandoned the game from lack of effort to provide content, because it did not have the features needed for adjusting for leaders to be louder than the common rabble. In addition to not working except only when grouped, so you still needed TS or another program for your guild.

First point is true.. of any games high level play.

Second.. you are confused. That voice chat? Yeah. its provided by Sony/Microsoft/whoever the vendor providing the console platform and just integrated into the game. Most likely, since it came with Free Buy to play, it save ZoS a TON of cash in development money on console typing chat interface, which is why it is so hard for anyone to even say its coming any time in the next 20 years.

Well, my intel is from over 3,000 raids lead on DDO. All my raids were PUG raids, I wasn't an elitist, new players had to learn the raid and I was confident in my command and control to ensure everyone got through one way or another. Not everyone had ears, didn't bother me. I typed out my instructions once, everyone was happy and off we went. DDO uses an in game voice chat like LoTR (well, it was the same company that developed them) and it makes life so much easier. Let's just get one thing clear, this isn't a general zone chat I'm on about, this is for when groups are formed, and the communication is for that group only. It's easy to turn voice chat off (I really don't think ZOS would put in a voice chat system and not have the ability to turn it off).

Here, I run a guild, we use mumble at the moment, and I don't lead anything outside my guild. Last time I led a raid party through Cyrodiil and I sent invites out, it was like herding kittens, commands was slow because I had to type and those in my guild knew I hated it by the tone of my voice.

Even if it was brought in game, I'd still be using mumble to chat with my guild as I do my solo stuff. But as someone that like pugging and don't mind leading pugs, I'd prefer to have an in built chat system.

P.S. I probably read your post with a bit of apathy in it hence my coldness of the response, sorry and not your fault.
