Runestone extraction passive is seriously poo poo

10% to extract each type of runestone when you max out the passive? That's really doo doo. I'm not saying it should be 100% chance or anything like that but 10%? Come on now. It's actually kind of a waste of skill points IMO. I get a VR16 glyph that I can't use so I do the extraction and get a Ta. Seriously poo poo ZOS. Seriously. Poo. Poo. My max level crafter, who's 50 in all crafting, can't get more than a Ta out of a glyph? Even if it were a 50% chance, or even 40% or something like that I feel would be fair. 10% is just seriously too low.

Truly it's the worst crafting passive in the game.

Yeah, I gotta agree with this lol. In terms of the worst passive in the game, snakeblood is the blue ribbon baby. But rune extraction is definitely a close 2nd.

Well, the idea of Snakeblood is there. Say someone discovers a potion combination which has buffs and effects they like, but it happens to be a ravaging potion - they can use that potion recipe without the negative effects until they discover a new combination, with the buffs they like, that isn't ravaging. It may be really useless to us experienced players, but to a new player, it's a little nice thing.

And if and when we get poisons they can revamp this to make the poisons stronger!

As for Runestone Extraction there is indeed a lot to be desired there but in Enchanting's defense you only need 1 of each to make a Glyph as opposed to Equipment crafts needing so much more...

Oh I totally understand that. And I'm not saying it needs to be 100%, I'm just saying that 10% is far too low.

The passive description says "Increases the chance of extracting each type of runestone by 10%".

The keyword here is INCREASES. That means whatever the base chance for extraction is, the passive increases it by 10%. Now I can tell just from doing lots of extractions that the base chance is way bigger than 10%. Say the base figure is 30%, which sounds about right from my experience, with the passive maxed this becomes 33%.

To summarise: The chance of extracting runes without the passive is NOT 0, it is some other figure and the passive increases this (exact value unknown to me) figure by 10%.
