Direfrost - Drodda

I've only run two dungeons since the patch and the bosses seem much harder than before. Does anyone have a guide for beating Drodda? We spent nearly an hour on her and never got her to 95% because she kept spawning Frost Atronachs. Is there a method to beating her other than trying to burn her down while getting beat on by her adds?

If your tank can handle it, get them to pull the frost atronachs aside and use ranged taunt on Drodda or improve the amount of DPS you are doing. If you play on PC and are AD, I can come help you

1) You need more DPS.

2) Watch out for her blue beam attack. It heals her. Whoever is affected by it must break free as quickly as possible.

Drodda is pretty annoying, particularly for groups that don't put out enough damage. You don't need that much damage, though (I've 2-manned this boss a lot of times), but you do need to outdamage her healing, and that means doing more damage while also breaking out of her health drain beam as soon as possible.

Good advice and thank you.

I figured it was a combination of a DPS and hate control issues. I'm 47 NB/Ranger build....have played since release on XB1 but I do a lot of exploration/content and only get an hour or two a day to play if that. I have played DPS for a long time and understand the general idea of hate management.

A trend I'm starting to see with my DPS is that I'm pulling hate way too much. Maybe it's because I'm spamming too much spike damage (Focus Aim maxed). This requires me to rely much more on Dark Cloak, hide for a few seconds and then get one or two more shots before having to do the same again.

Am I all off base with how my DPS should be running because it seems very ineffective. I'm all about helping control hate but damn....I feel like I can't do anything without pulling aggro and getting knocked out.

Um, "hate management"? That's where your problem is--the only "management" that exists is, "Let the tank grab the aggro."

As DPS, your one and only job is to hit the boss hard and often.

Your tank should have the aggro, and your tank takes and maintains that aggro by the use of taunt skills (there are two such skills in the game: the first skill under 1H/shield and the third skill under Undaunted).

If you have no tank, you can still defeat Drodda (I've beaten her without a tank)--you'll just have to kite her around. The aggro is always on someone--all that you do with cloak is potentially shift that aggro to someone else. And neither she nor her adds hit that hard, either, so if you do have the aggro and are taking the hits, it shouldn't be hard to just heal through it (you do have a healer, right?).

thos boss is easy just make sure you have enough dps. the mayor problem you might face is that she just keeps healing the damage done. break free from her snare were she heals from and ignore the adds.
