    Yes, that's why there's only 2 zones in the entire game that actually got pvp and the rest got only pve, definitely made to only kill each other....

    Why shoul i search if there was this DC? I earned about 20k AP in the last 2 hours solo, but this one i had to kill too.

    The guy ran to the ladder from inner of the sewers. He didnt come from a dastrict.

    In 1 place it is a PvP zone and no one has to be safe.

    1. Immunity after zoning in is totally alright and should be, as it is, endless till you leave the safe area.
    2. There should be no immunity for someone walking back into the safe area. It's stupid and destroys the idea of the sewers and the IC. It's a PvP zone, if you enter be ready to fight even if you don't like to. Otherwise, go to an empty campaign or enter the zone during off-times or don't bother buying a DLC flagged as PvP DLC.

    There is nothing wrong with attacking an enemy player inside the PvP areas. Doesn't matter if it's a PvEer or a pacifist or whatever. That's the idea of open world PvP. You don't ask first before you attack.

    And people judging others for being gankers or grievers or whatever are the worst. Enjoy the game how you want to, let others enjoy it how they want to. But accept that there are under certain circumstances limitations to your playstyle.

    The OP is the perfect example of the type of player that prevents me from wanting to participate in PvP at all... People who get their jollies from attacking and killing others that they know are weaker and less skilled than they are (who would rather avoid a fight they know they can't win). People who refuse to seek out a real challenge from players that actually want to battle, and would rather just prey on the weak.

    It's funny, when you think about it. The OP is getting mad at the player who's hiding in a safe zone, and calling him weak... but the OP himself is "hiding" from real battles, likely because he knows he himself is too weak to beat a real foe. Kind of hypocritical actually.

    However, I am glad to see (based on the other responses in this thread) that not all PvP players are like this.

    Well, if you can't even pick an honest fight but need to gank someone at the sewer ladders then I don't think you really can say that others are weak, I've seen so many be sooooo proud when they got the last hit in on someone fighting a sweeper or just killing someone loading into the area, but they're just cowards that would be blown away at the slightest resistance.

    If you can get immunity back by running back to the ladder then that needs to be changed. You dont get it back when you run to a main gate again, do you? So why would ladders be any different. :/

    This conversation highlights an issue with the poor design of IC.

    First, players should not be able to cloak past mobs with impunity. Neither should the mobs be artificially spaced such that players can sneak past all or most of them. Additionally, once aggro'ed mobs should also hold aggro for a longer distance (similar to but not as far as the banner bosses hold aggro.)

    Second, players should be able to position themselves to be able see and hear far enough off such that they can react of players of other factions are coming towards them. Upon seeing the advancing players those players then have time to react and make a quick decision.

    For example group A is grinding and sees group B approaching.

    Group B has the option to barge through the mobs to reach group A. This would mean that they would continue to take damage and CC from those mobs when they started to hit group A.

    Or group B could fight the mobs along the way, which would give group A more time to react.

    On the other side group A could also start to retreat or advance - with the same consequences regarding the mobs and their decision how quickly to move.

    Potential dynamics like the above are just some of what is missing in the design and planning of IC. This lack of dynamics results in the area being so lackluster and low in population. Also, this lack of dynamics leads to interaction between opposing players being generally unrewarding for most of those involved.

    I am not sure how hard this would be to code. However I feel the best solution here is to have ladder immunity when you first log in and the immunity is permanent unless you move. Once you move you lose it. This way it would keep you safe from loading in and even for those really long load times that could still happen and would keep someone from abusing it. It may work this way already and if it does then my apologizes for mentioning it, but I have not had the pleasure of being ganked myself so I have always just moved right away from the ladder.

    If there someone that is upset over this , then these are the ladder gankers IMO. I have been to the sewers there always seems to be plenty of people to fight. Not sure why you would need to stand by the ladders and wait for people unless you did not want a straight up fight and just wanted to get the easy gank kill.

    IC should have been like Darkness Falls in DAOC - you only gain entry when your faction controls the keeps so there's a constant rotation and PvP.

    I may have actually bought it then. Why did they change it?

    Well, actually if you're stuck on loadscreen, your char still spawns, but you cannot control it for a few seconds (or more)because you're still on loadscreen. In early IC days you could load a zone and your char might be already dead. So timed immunity wont help.

    Ran into this the other night with a friend. The enemy player ran to the ladder as soon as he was about to be beat and started dancing in the immunity zone. The funny part is when we left the room he came out of the immunity zone after us and we killed him in the hall.

    As annoying as it is, it is better than getting ganked right out of the loading screen.

    Think of it as "base" when you were a kid playing tag. :smile:
