    All online games with spawn points suffer this problem. Players waiting for kill anyone spawning for a cheap kill. Fps games were notorious for this type of behavior. No surprise the same happens within IC. Players also camp the sewer entrances in Cyrodiil.

    Lol there really is no winning on this one. People got smashed coming down the ladder (rightly so, lol stole 10K TV stones off one guy by camping the ladder with a few other ADs) so they moaned and it got nerfed, now people use it for safety. Either way someones always going to complain....

    How about an immunity that only lasts until they get X radius from the ladder and/or they attack. Once immunity wears off, it's gone until they use the ladder again. No more cheap tricks.

    but this is a more fair fix though.
    being stuck in a loading screen why others kill you while you can't more or even see what is going on. that is less fair then a minor safezone

    Typical pick-on-the-weak bully answer. You don't want people that don't want to PVP in a PVP zone? Don't force them to go to a PVP zone to access PVE content.

    Thats what i wanted. You wont be killed at spawning, but you also wont escape a lost fight.

    I dont want to PvE - i dont go to Craglorn and never will buy Orsinium.But PvE players are constantly whining about being ganked in IC and cyro. If you are afraid of heiights - you live in the 1-st floor or in a private house and never climb mountains. If you want to play skyrim online - you play it in Craglorn, or you simply can be killed.

    Think of it as an escape of sorts then? Like a sorc teleport or NB cloak that takes some time to get there, so you have some opportunity to try and get them before then. If anything it breeds a new set of tactics into the game

This played out for another 10 minutes or so until eventually I logged off in the ladder immunity area myself.

    It's the first time I've ever played a PvP game that has immunity in which players can use at a whim to save their life. I'm all for the immunity for right after you get through a loading screen, but to have an actual area where you can just walk into for immunity? Terrible idea. Actually makes griefing players much easier.

    Maybe if people would not have ganked players before they had control of their toons or even fully drawn in, there would be no need for ladder protection, this is an effect caused by the cheap shot gankers, you are the reason there is protection. I am sure they will make some changes now that the loading times are better.. /shrug

    Yeah, the ones that were part of the problem now complain about it having been fixed. Maybe not in a way that gankers appreciate, but that's what they get for abusing the system in the first place.

    Didn't they have this before? I knew when they would have it because it would force me out of sneak the problem was that it is impossible to time it because it doesn't account for how long your loading screen is. this always resulted in me not only unable to defend myself but also being visible to everyone with a big "I can't do anything for 10 seconds kill me" sign above my head that anyone even people in the other room could see

    This has been a godsend for the DC players, since red and yellows zerg up constantly, about 6 times last night I managed to get to the nearby ladder with them chasing me and to a safe zone, from there I just used the teleported to friend function and left safely.

    Lucky too as I was on a farming spree and had about 9k stones!

    Also handy against the yellow campers that sit in DC area of the sewers.

    So IC is a place ONLY for those horny to kill other players? A whole DLC that for some players around the world cost MUCH more than $25 and provides not only PvP action but the opportunity for PvE'rs to fight stronger monsters, get better rewards and maybe even move the ruined economy of the game?

    Stop being elitist and get real! You do have to realize that Cyrodiil opens at level 10 and you're probably a VR16 playing for a year or so.
    A weaker player has to die. Any player in IC or cyro has to be attacked. He can win or loose the fight but he should have no chance to avoid the fight.
    I really hope that ZOS is reading this topic to see the childish mentality of players and how they try to privatize something made for everyone to enjoy.

    It sounds like words coming from the... fingers, of an EB Nightblade that comes all the way down to DC base and one-shot everyone who steps out Lambert Passage.

    Yes, that's why there's only 2 zones in the entire game that actually got pvp and the rest got only pve, definitely made to only kill each other....
    So only those thirsty to ruin someone else's day has the right to use stuff coming from IC? VR16 rings and runestones are not available anywhere else. Even if you accept the "damage" and use a VR15 glyph in a VR16 item, you can't. Some crafting materials are so scarce that makes them almost rare, but they can be bought with Tel Var Stones.


    So far I've been down in the sewers 3 times since I bought the DLC. Enemies are very challenging for my strengths and the period of the day I play there is no one available to group, at least no one of DC (what a surprise...).

    IMHO, if IC has a story, quests, monsters and rewards worth a PvE'er to try his/her luck, it shouldn't be a war zone. Personally, I get angry when I'm down there, taking a lot of time to kill monsters alone, sneaking by the others I can't, collecting a few stones here and there, and out of the blue a NB SoB comes out of the darkness and in a few seconds ruin all the time I spent.

    The whole game should be available in both sides of the coin: war zones and exploration mode. If the player wants to kill monsters in IC, he goes down there solo or with a small group like a world-sized dungeon, without having to check his/her shadow everytime to see if a NB will pops out under their feet.

    But if players want a massive war in... I don't know, Old Orsinium, for example, so be it. All players from all three alliances jump in one single instance (with a maximum number of players per instance to not overload the experience) and fight until death between themselves. You could even make enemies much more stronger and rare motifs a less rare so everyone can have fun, not only those more "experienced" (in quotes because we know most of them are animation cheaters).

    It's funny how some of you guys assume that the guy camping the ladder must be some poor carebear who doesn't want to fight. Take a look at this pic from a couple days ago of an IDENTICAL situation:

    I blocked out the guy's name to avoid "name and shame", but I can assure you that this dude is a shameless AD ganker who was terrorizing DC base with his 2 buddies. I was killed numerous times by this gank crew RIGHT OUTSIDE THE BASE CAMP DOOR before some more DC showed up to help. I killed one of his pals with an Overload, while some other DC killed one of the other gankers, leaving just this one guy...

    So what does this brave ganker do? He HIDES like a chicken[snip] on the ladder platform while he waits for his buddies to rez. Eventually the other DC got bored of watching him, so when his friends showed up, I got killed by all 3 of them AGAIN. Needless to say, I have no respect whatsoever for these guys and their cheesy tactics.

    OP is right, it's time for ZOS devs to step in and remove this safe haven for gankers.

    Ladder immunity should only be active when coming into a "zone" not when leaving one. Had a 15 minute long battle with two terrible gankers a few days ago. I came out of ladder to walk back to base and they attacked me. I managed to kill one of them and the other ran to the ladder. I sat outside of the immunity on his friends body for a minute or so. Every time I would try to walk away back to base he would attack me and then go back to the ladder. Few minutes later I left again and he rezed his friend and they continued to chase and try to kill me. Managed to kill the same one again while the other one fled back to ladder immunity yet again. This played out for another 10 minutes or so until eventually I logged off in the ladder immunity area myself.

    It's the first time I've ever played a PvP game that has immunity in which players can use at a whim to save their life. I'm all for the immunity for right after you get through a loading screen, but to have an actual area where you can just walk into for immunity? Terrible idea. Actually makes griefing players much easier.

    Didn't they have this before? I knew when they would have it because it would force me out of sneak the problem was that it is impossible to time it because it doesn't account for how long your loading screen is. this always resulted in me not only unable to defend myself but also being visible to everyone with a big "I can't do anything for 10 seconds kill me" sign above my head that anyone even people in the other room could see

    Could simply solve the loading screen time difference by making the immunity stay on the player until he/she moves and or attacks.

    Eve Online did this best out of any game I have played with a similar situation. Every time a player "jumps a star gate" (leaving one zone going into another) said player has immunity for 15 seconds or until the player moves. While under immunity the player cannot use any defensive or offensive abilities.

    The situation in IC is very similar. If a player uses a ladder he/she should have immunity for "x" amount of time, while not being able to attack or defend until said player moves. Or said player should be granted indefinite immunity (to account for different load times) until said player moves. This would fix the ladder camping issue, as well as fixing the issue with players having a place with full fledge immunity to all attacks whenever a player feels the need for it. After all it is a PvP zone, there should be no area that a player can go to that lets them escape an attacker.
