Spent allready many hours in vMsa, tried it with magicka templar, magicka nightblade and magicka sorcerer (yes the class everyone says its easymode but its my least played v16 char) all with legendary gear and only a few points from cp cap.

I have made it toward stage 3 round 3 (were the hag mini boss and the stranglers rubberbanding you in the air to death while you also take shock damage from the water below)

Some mechanics, bugs or intended will kill you in one or two hits while not be able to do something at all (see above) hardest hit i received was 38k!!!

For now vMsa is only for the elite players, but grats to everyone who completed it.

I don't have much time available for it right now. And when I start the progression I don't want interruptions. I hope they don't nerf it. I want to put my first build to the test. However, fixing bugs would be welcome! I'm looking at you, stranglers!

Doubt it. Not in Arenas 1-3 unless you were standing in the red (or electrified water) and the dot damage got rolled up in your death recap.

Later on though those numbers are entirely possible in single hits by enraged bosses.

Cleared it 30+ times getting burnt out tbh

    Yup.

Especially when the final boss drops two Reinforced Leggings of the Hunt in a row....which coincidentally is also the same item you received from the Weekly leaderboard reward in gold.

They need to make it so that the final boss drops a guaranteed maelstrom weapon or set ring or neck and *nothing* else.

I haven't got a maelstrom weapon in over 8 clears now. Stupid considering each clear costs me ~2 hours and 15K gold and the last weapon I got was a defending bow.

I'm fine with super hard content, but the reward is not worth the commitment. I mainly only play it for the challenge...if it were nerfed I'd go back to PvP....errr The Witcher.

Went in there only once to take a serious stab at it. I didn't even know the mechanics, had never seen it before and got to round 6. Haven't gone back yet. First, it's a gold pit and second I just don't care that much to spend all that time learning the last 3 arenas just for one mediocre master's weapon.

I'd like to see some parses with these weapons or feedback as to the dps increase they provide...maybe that will spark some interest again but right now it just feels like a suck on time and resources. whens the next dlc?

    Cuyler,

Next time we go into sanctum I'll show you a manti parse. I only have the one staff on my back bar for the wall of elements enchant and I've gotten about a 1-1.5k increase in dps. Since I've changed my gear over to julianos and using the staff instead of the old martial knowledge I've been using since forever.

On another note, the arena is a big challenge. I understand a lot of people are having trouble with it but it's only the second week and people are giving up entirely. Some people just have such a bad mindset for it and tbh I think a big part of it is that it's a solo arena and they have no one to blame but themselves so people get frustrated.

Even if you just go in and master the first 5 arenas for a few days, it will make learning the last 4 easier since you can get to that point much much faster with practice. I spent 6 hours on just the last boss and now I can do it in 2 tries max. Round 7 boss is the one that I hate the most, it's still giving me trouble.

Thanks Ted, yeah would like to see some damage reports. Personally finding time to do this is the hard part. The few hours I have a night I'm usually pulled to do group stuff and feel weird telling people no I'm going to *** by myself in the arena. I'm hoping I get a sharpened inferno on my first few clears like someone we know! What a lucky *** LOL

I know right! So lucky! I have my inferno in defending and still have a pretty sizable increase in dps even with a dead staff on the front bar. So with another staff with hopefully good traits, I think that the dos with this setup will dramatically increase the dps of dk's.

On the bolded part...how? I'm no pro, I also do it in <2hrs and averaging 10 deaths and my cost is usually around 3k per run.

Deathless runs should cost about one full repair so...maybe 1.8-2k?

I've finished it 7 or 8 times now, and can consistently make 1.5 - 2.0 hour runs with ~10 deaths. I'm really just waiting to farm up some mats and gold to try it with a couple of different sets, and with the good potions. My best run so far was no death until the final boss. I ended up dying with the boss at 5% =(.

Right now i'm using 5x spell power cure, 3x will power, 1x molag kena, and 3/2x torug's pact (3 on DW, 2 on staff), and I only use the junk v15 magicka potions. Hopefully upgrading to the v15 crafted potions (for the extra initial magicka, and the increased regen duration) will keep my magicka up better so that I can use 3x spell damage glyphs on my jewelry on all rounds. Maybe using TBS, julianos, scathing mage, or overwhelming would be better than spell power cure? It's worth testing at least.

I've gotten 2x Maelstrom axes with sharpened, so i'm looking forward to trying those on my stam NB, if I ever pull her out of retirement. Other than that, it's the same junk: maces, defending lightning staffs, and charged/defending resto staffs.

No they shouldnt, deathless run cost pots and repairs ive been attempting no death and I repair on rounds 5 and 8 and its usually about 800g EA... tri-pots for additionaly safety are 18k per stack

I just recalculated everything with me selling all my decon mats and it costs me ~@5K gold. Figuring 30 spellpower and 30 tri-stat pots a run. Even on a deathless stage my repairs still average ~180g which is stupid.

There is room for improvement but every time I made it to stage 6 or 7 without a death I suddenly die to the stupidest garbage over and over for some reason and it screws up my whole run. Last night it was Poison phase BS RNG like stuck in overload and can't swap out to use crushing shock on scream or poison mushroom under shield, bash boss bolt to the cleansing pool and can't recast shield in time for add to 1-shot me.

On my deathless run I repaired once on stage 8 using kits and then probably used 20-30 pots throughout the entire run and most of them were potions so I could go faster since I was going for score as well. Just to top off my health instead of swapping g to my back bar and shielding. When I really start to push times and am using pots on cool down that's when it will start to get expensive.

I'm still practicing in the normal one. I need to optimize my build before I have an attempt at the veteran version. As soon as I get through normal without a death I'll move on and (probably) come back to the forum to *** and whine.

There is too large a gulf between normal and vet. I waltz through normal with no deaths and no sigils, yet I'm still stuck on arena 4 of vet. There are a lot of things that you have to deal with in vet that you don't really get to experience in normal because the effect is too subtle or things die before they get a chance to do something interesting.

Nope.,havent played it and dont plan to after all the negative talk about not being able to save through each wave of enemies. You should be able to get an end to each wave so that you can return later if you need to or if you're just ragged from fighting forever. This way you wont lose your progression in the arena.

Done the normal mode few times. It was really enjoyable for me especially once I figure it out what to do. I wish I could say the same for veteran mode.

Not worth it. Normal mode is a fun way to quickly gain XP if you are leveling up a Vet level character, but Vet Mode is simply not worth the time and effort at this juncture.
