Why doesn't ESO have area themed music?

In my opinion it would have been better and each zone would feel more unique and have its own vibe instead of everything feeling similar. One good example is WoW.

so... it doesn't mean that ESO wouldn't be better of with the other option. Plus, ESO, unlike all other TES games, has actual zones.

The game design intent is to mimic TES in every way possible on a server based game

I don't get what the OP means by his question? Port in to Craglorn, Coldharbor or enter Cyrodiil - they have their own music. Many zones do. What's the issue?

Most of the music is very "samey", remixes of the same music and music with the same tone.

I feel this is probably the reason. More bards I say!

Expansion packs are usually a good chance for MMO's to add some new music. I haven't heard anything about Orsinium adding any score to the game but you never know. This probably depends a lot on what the contract was with Brad Derrick, however. We don't know if he's signed up for any extra music.

I agree. Atleast put MORE music. I feel like I've heard the same ambient music 500000000000 times. it gets a tad boring. Even in Skyrim and oblivion there were enough songs that i didn't ever get bored of them, especially oblivion. The same songs over and over felt great in that game. And WoW dont even get me started. Icecrown music OMFG IT WAS EPIC. Shoalazar basin!!!!! Vash'jir!! They nailed the music so freakin hard in that game.

I notice different music in certain areas like IC
    Orsinium has a new soundtrack
    VR 16 Orc Stamina Dragonknight

We need a loot currency system in this game!

As new DLC zones are added they will have different music I'm sure. It's really just the base game that lacks musical variety, too bad that's a large part of the game at the moment lol.

Define "zone", because technically "zones" are divided into 2 categories: Underground and Aboveground. Beyond that the division is between areas such as Auridon, Stonefalls, and Glenumbra.

The words "Area" and "Zone" are generally used by many to describe the same thing; the named landscapes such as Auridon, Stonefalls, Glenumbra etc., like you said. Sub-zones are places within a zone like Public Dungeons, Group Dungeons, Delves, even Towns and Cities.

It would be nice if the music for each zone was different and perhaps also certain major cities having their own specific music once you get near the surrounding area and/or enter the city. This would give each area a more memorable and unique atmosphere.

I would rather have the ESO music than the music in WoW, hands down, but I understand your point. However, I don't remember every hearing zone specific music in ES games.
