I'm pretty sure it was about overlapping the same campaign on characters in different factions and not about being forced to have a main campaign on 1 character only.Yeah, let's make it so that it's impossible for PVE players to ever get Alliance War skills that are also very useful for PVE on some of their characters! Oh, you want to get caltrops on your DC tank? Too bad, because you're only allowed 1 campaign per account, and you're already in a campaign on your AD character!MountainHound wrote: »You know you can't overlap campaigns on your characters in different factions? You can home with 1 main, guest in another with another faction whilst an ally faction can use you as a spy?
Another simple fix would be 1 campaign per account, not one per character.
So you think it makes more sense that, on escaping from Coldharbour everyone just happened to wash up in the alliance where the majority of the members of their race live? And nobody ended up somewhere else? Despite the fact that members of every race live in every alliance?Forestd16b14_ESO wrote: »Ehh.... kinda a bad idea but side note I do think any race any alliance was a terrible idea that kinda killed it for the game.
Frankly, the terrible idea was restricting anyone's race/alliance choices. Everyone should have had any race any alliance without having to pay for it. It makes much more sense, and is much more true to the Elder Scrolls experience.
Nope, he said 1 campaign per account. You already can't have characters of opposing characters in the same campaign (home or guest), so if it's 1 campaign per account that means that you can only have characters of one of the 3 alliances ever do PVP, and any characters you have of the other 2 alliances are SOL.I'm pretty sure it was about overlapping the same campaign on characters in different factions and not about being forced to have a main campaign on 1 character only.Yeah, let's make it so that it's impossible for PVE players to ever get Alliance War skills that are also very useful for PVE on some of their characters! Sadly Misfitz are no more.
I completely agree here. I have 8 toons all AD.
And while they are at it they need to stop ALL guesting and switching of campaigns. Those folks that hop from campaigns "Looking" for action" annoy me, if only they had of managed their home campaign better.
And lets take it a step further and lock campaign population to the lowest alliance's current pop. Queue times be damned, it would be healthy for the map. And for all that is holy, remove IC from Cyrodill's population cap, it serves no purpose.
Then, just to make a bunch of cash in the first month of these changes, offer Alliance changes in the crown store, with a 48 hour CD for small fee.
Just my 2 cents.
It was a reminder of what I meant, but was misunderstood.Nope, he said 1 campaign per account. Um, no, not really. The alliance war isn't about 3 races fighting 2 other groups of 3 races each. It's about 3 factions at war, each made up of 3 political bodies (I hesitate to call them nations, because some are and some aren't really). Each one of those political bodies is dominated by one race, but each of them also includes many citizens of all of the other races of Tamriel. If you go through the PVE zones you see many examples of citizens of all races in each zone. The majority of the citizens are of the races who dominate the alliance, but there are loads who aren't and for the most part they're not treated much differently from "home alliance" races.Forestd16b14_ESO wrote: »So you think it makes more sense that, on escaping from Coldharbour everyone just happened to wash up in the alliance where the majority of the members of their race live? But thing is half of ESO story is the alliance war and the 3 races of said alliance fighting the other 7 races. Before they offered the any race any alliance bonus ESO had one of those deceleration of wars documents you can read just to increases the hype and ex The Aldmeri Dominian one from Queen Ayren was basicly calling for the support of the Altmer, Bosmer, and Khajiit only to fight for the eagle banner.
After it magicaly changes to say any one can fight for it even nords race of man who the Queen does not want on the Ruby Throne at all that's why she is even leading in the first place to prevent King Jorunn or King Emric of the race of men from taking the Throne cause she just like the Thalmor mind you believe only a elf may sit on the throne since it was built by them. (was built by St. Allessia but story for another time.)
So yea any race any alliance doesn't make sense when a nord of the race of men is fighting for a elf queen who wants elf supremacy. If anything if a nord washed up on the shores of the Aldemri Dominion they instantly accuse of being a spy and lock him up or execute him not offer him/her to join there ranks.

Ah, OK. My reply to him was based on his "simple fix" idea of only allowing 1 campaign per account. Not based on what you'd been saying about not being able to overlap campaigns. It was a reminder of what I meant, but was misunderstood.Nope, he said 1 campaign per account. Agreed. It will never happen, and that's a good thing.Oh, and by the way, there's no real reason to discuss idea what will never happen. And here's why: "What would happen to your already existing characters that are (quite possibly) spread out around different factions? You lose them? Really? How fair that would be? Instead, you're preventing players from creating more characters in different factions? How fair is that in regard to players who didn't have them versus those who already have them?". The problem can't be justly solved, therefore no one will even ever consider introducing such idea. It's just a fan-fiction. One of thousands at the forums, actually.

People are hostile to the idea because it's a terrible idea that causes far more problems than it "solves" and it would *** off a massive portion of the player base, and probably cause a lot of them to stop playing. I mean, if you want an idea to kill the game, then yeah this one's great. Probably the best method of killing the game I've ever seen proposed.
Once again: in a PVP-only MMO, this could work fine. In an MMO where the vast majority of the zones are PVE-only, and a very large portion of the player base is either entirely or primarily PVE, and a huge number of people already have characters in all alliances, this is basically the worst idea ever. Unless you're specifically hoping to kill the game entirely. In which case it's a great idea.
You should probably go find an MMO that's PVP-centric then.MountainHound wrote: »Yeah, people should be forced to abandon the faction storylines they're enjoying playing through! Eh, if you leave cause you're suddenly forced to invest your time and effort into one side only, good riddance.
Seriously though, bunch of damn narcissists... PvP has been plagued by entire guilds "rerolling" for long enough.
Oh, and screw PvE.

YOU win! Mine are all AD as well even have and AD Orc. However when I first started the game I experimented with classes/races/and factions. If I had been locked the second I chose a faction I would have been disappointed. I wanted to test all the factions before picking a storyline I liked I always went back to the AD and decided that is where I belonged
