ZOS, if you're going to nerf a class into the dirt, at least have the decency to give us an option to change classes.

I don't know what you are talking about I can do all of that: http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/223879/enduring-dragon-pve-tank-by-luna-hlaalu

Can keep block up fairly well, in groups almost indefinitely. Heals? Igneous shield then Coagulating Blood and then sometimes Vigor and Boom awesome heals. Regen? Igneous Shield spam to get stam back plus pop an Ulti. Burst? meh maybe not, but then again I shouldn't have to as a tank, and that's what you said you were, a stamina dk tank.

My build is very similar to Pauls, couple of gear differences and 1 or 2 skills and he has about 150 more champion points than me other than that. I'm also able to do most things you say dk can't with very little trouble and effort. Your right on the damage front but for all group pve content I do well and soloing I feel indestructible (though I'm probably not).

I guess OP is talking about PvP. If you want to tank in PvP get a templar in your group who drops spears. Use magicka regens and try to be effective. I know it sucks.
    Because I can!

    Some questions....
How do you spam ign. shield with 10k magic? (end up only gaining 15% of stamina back)
how do you get vigor if you don't pvp? (stuck with using dragons blood or rally if you do a two hander off-bar)
why would anyone even use dragons blood? (33% of MISSING health... not worth using until you are almost dead and if you keep spamming ign shield you have no magicka to use it anyway)

also... if you have the gear to reach 30k health and stamina... you prob won't have to worry much about stamina as long as you don't walk around holding block the whole time.

    I do tank vet dungeons....
made my own build... i don't use dragons blood (switch it for rally) i rarely block (only heavy attacks) the only thing i use magicka for is to maintain volatile armor and igneous shields... otherwise, i taunt, low slash, and use unstable flame and pop the dragon leap shield ultimate whenever its ready... or switch to two hander for trash mobs and lesser bosses. (2h sweep attack is great with the shield morph)
it works for most vet dungeons but only excels when i have 2 good dps with me.... because i can do very little damage.

Coagulating Dragon blood increases your health recovery, incoming healing by 8% +12% if not using spiked armor and is an amazing heal in PvE combined with igneous shields 30% healing. It's good to have as a back up heal and doesn't rely on spell/weapon power for potency.

I tank on magicka DK so thats about all I can add. I personally don't like the block changes either because I find myself able to do less for my group as I can no longer hybridize between magicka and stamina tanking. Hybridizing between the two gave me both spectrums to pull from for buffs, debuffs and tanking. I still perform my tanking duties just fine, but my role is much more limited in scope than it was before the change.

I agree it would be much more reasonable to use on a magicka dk... but on stamina build you are probably better off using a 2hander and putting rally on your bar.

When it comes to group content my healers have a tendancy to either ask if we want necrotic orb or just run it default. That with other synergies not only gives me a lot of stamina back but magicka as well. And I use Engine guardian so I basically only "spam" the igneous shield when magicka procs. And yea Doing a shield then coagulating blood and a vigor is really strong heal, but it needs to be in that order. And when it comes to dragon blood its all about knowing when to use it for maximum effect. I was forced to learn that when I tanked lower boss in the Manti fight in SO, cause my group never sent a healer down with me, a siphon blade at best but no healer. So using the dragon blood at the very last second was key. Its just a matter of resource management.

I use scourger set which adds a nice increase to the effectiveness of healing as well as some unassailable jewellery adding healing recurved, works fine for me, I don't spam igneous but use it when I start to get low in prep for dragon blood.

"oh DKs are fine just use this 1 build" yea that's the problem that's the ONLY DK build that works and even now it's just barely working. Why should I completely abandoned my hard work to my build just use this 1 guys build ? Just cause it works? I may be tired of NBs and Magical users running the game but I'm not giving up my entire work and build just to walk from keep to keep and maybe get 1 kill in PvP.

There are other successful stamina build for DK's, mine is not the only one. While the options are a lot more limited there are still options. Not everything will work but its up to yourself to find what works or doesn't work. Your build may indeed not work any more but you can either *** about it or get yourself a new build that you have made yourself. Choice is yours.

I believe lefty Lucy has posted a DK tank build on here more suited to pvp and burst damage. Looks good but I do very little pvp so it didn't hold my attention beyond taking a few ideas from it.

There are several DK PvP builds that are tanky and can score kills. Lefty Lucy's is one of the better ones I have seen, but it is also very gear dependant.

DK is all about managing resources for sustain and attrition. Getting kills involves burst while CCing your opponent. DK isn't as cheesy as Sorc or NB, but it certainly has the tools to be a threat in combat.

If you are talking about PvE, then I don't know what to say... PvE is pretty straight forward.

I have a full stamina DK and doing ok both in PvP & PvE.

    My experience:

    Sustain:
What worked for me, contrary to many popular builds are increased regens. HP regen is over 2700 with dragon blood ticking (and I still prefer the green one), and stamina is about 1600 with werewolf ulti slotted.
I move around a lot, with shield lowered for a couple seconds, just enough to have a larger portion of my stamina regened. Usually I take this moments to charge up a heavy attack. Being tanky, unless it's an incoming heavy attack I can handle most without shield.

In PvP there are various encounters that requires a different approach.
    1v1 -
    - backup coming : just have to hold it long enough till backup arrives.
    - duel, no backup: once you hide behind your shield you are on the losing side. Must switch to damage dealing setup (2hander works for me) and burn, wrecking blow, talon, execute, heal and buff up when required. Just need to push the enemy.

    1vX -
    - no backup coming: you are fried no matter what. DKs have no escape skills. :(
    - backup en route: just have hold up a bit more :)

In PvP talons give me usually enough time to get back some of my stamina while I can lower the shield. This is why I try to keep stam regen high still. Same with reflected spells stunning the caster -> heavy attack shield down, big stam back.

    Also keep potions ticking constantly.

    Heal
Igneus shield + vigor / gdB. Usually more than enough. Even in PvP. Also I keep my ulti till I have my resources burned, since it fills up them due to passives.

    Burst
My burst is my chain in PvP. Yanking zerg members into my group constantly. Sometimes it backfires and I am pulled into the zerg.
Otherwise, with full stamina, I am happy with two hander: Unstable flame--> WB--> Crit charge --> Heavy attack--> Execute, rinse&repeat.
