I like the old system of trophies so much better! Can we have it back please?! At very least, make it trade-able with in one's own account of chars?

Normally I don't care much about RP stuff, achievements, or things that have zero effect on how much power my character has.

However, this change is really, really dumb. Just make the trophies bankable again.
Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

Has anybody dropped a collectable in a low level region where he doesn't get XP?

After farming the last 18.. I'm now down to 2. Bull Netches and Kagouti. Beside some lonely Netches in Coldharbour they are only available in low level regions for my EP char. After hunting them for days I'm convinced that they don't drop on low level.

I need some feedback here.. because asking the support is self-mutilation and a complete waste of time.
(the most likely anwer would be anyway: deactivate your addons)

PS: Does anybody know if the Netches item drops from Betty and Bull Netches? Heard a rumor that only Bull Netches count.
@SokarGoldberg You won't be able to get the Netches in your home alliance zones unless you are within 5 levels of them. Sounds like you out-leveled them since you refer to farming Cold Harbor. I've heard the rumor about bulls vs betties, but don't know if it's true. I did get my drop from a bull. There will be some kagouti added outside EP in the next patch, but I don't recall if netches are being added too. If not, you're limited to Cold Harbor.

The 5 level range was changed. You can read about them in this topic too. They should be dropable without any level dependencies.. That's what they told us in the patch notes.
    Hi everyone,

We’d like to provide a little insight and clarification on the upcoming changes to collectibles.

Currently, collectible trophies work differently for those obtained via fishing versus those obtained via monster kills. Fishing trophy collectibles grant the associated achievement upon item pick-up, whereas monster-kill trophy collectibles grant the associated achievement upon use. This difference was resulting in a high volume of bug reports and feedback in which players thought the collectible trophies were broken. That combined with the availability being limited by level-range prompted us to make the system more intuitive and uniform. That’s where the upcoming changes come in.

So what do those changes consist of? Here’s a short list:
    • All collectible trophies will now grant the associated achievement when the item is first looted.
    • Monster trophies will always drop off appropriate level monsters for your character. A game-wide audit was done to make sure that no matter what level you are, there is always a place you can go to work on collecting the trophy you are looking for.
    • Collectible trophies can no longer be banked and traded to another character.
We hope that helps clarify the changes. Please let us know if you have any questions!

But I'm convinced they bugged it. Wouldn't be the first time they screw up such easy things. That's why I want a confirmation that someone got one of a low level character.

Just asking my drop to the bucket on this thread. I think the change restricting the trading of trophies between toons on the same account was short-sighted. It doesn't add to the replayability of the game. It takes away options that the majority of us were perfectly fine with. The collectible system was grindy enough without the restriction in place. I've left /feedback in game to state as much.

ZOS, for the love of the fans of this game "tear this wall down!"

You paid for the game, same as them, sub or not. You have every right to be anywhere you want, and they can suck eggs if they don't like it. Best advice is ignore them or tell them to complain to ZOS, since you wouldn't be farming that area if you didn't have to.

Sometimes I have to grind an area for 3 hours straight before I get the drop, so I can see that getting frustrating for other players who want to grind a spot for other reasons. Thankfully, it's not come up *too* often, except in lower level places like Coldharbour. Though the other day, when someone shouted at me, I politely explained to them in PM that I was fighting the RNG, and they were more understanding and left me alone for an hour.

I got my fleshy symbiont on my new templar doing the harborage quest. The trophy I was searching for over one year is now in my inventory and I can´t transfer it to my main.

Same with burning daedroth eye which I got again on another twink after this patch.

I gave up on chasing any achievements in this game... somehow they always manage to p*** off the players who sticked with them from the beginning

It would still be needed. The biggest kick in the bits about this change is the inability to transfer the items between characters on the same account. I hate that I have collectibles on alts that my main achievement-seeking character needs.

Given the already extreme challenge of getting these achievements, this change was completely unnecessary and totally anti-player. They need to revert this horrible change, and put things back to how they were. Until that happens, they are going to continue to have a lot of ticked-off achievement hunters.

If there was no 5-level rule, you wouldn't need to use alts and bank transfers. You could go anywhere in the game with high population levels and grind away. One of the biggest reasons, maybe the only reason, for needing the bank transfer method is how quickly you advance in level from 1-50. Combined with the collectible drop rate, it is far too easy to out-level a monster without getting a drop. Then factor in that collectibles were broken until after early players were already vets, and out-leveled home alliance drops before the collectible system even worked. Using altls and transfers was just a work-around to deal with the 5-level rule.

I'm new to the party but I'll add my voice to the throng asking for this to be reconsidered so that people can finish their collections.

Is there a list somewhere of the trophies available and what you need to farm to get them? My first character is still relatively low-leveled, so if possible I want to make sure I don't skip over something I can be farming now.

Edit: I found some guide threads, so I think I can make my way from there.

I understand what you are saying, and you are correct. We wouldn't need the ability to transfer between characters, if we could go back and farm the items from lower level mobs, but that doesn't mean there's no reason to re-allow it. I would also agree that they should remove the 5-level rule for collectibles. I'm just saying that that alone wouldn't make it as nice as it was before.

Being able to transfer them (the way we use to) is significantly more player-friendly than simply removing the 5-level rule, and a FAR more preferable solution, for a number of reasons:

    1) Farming a low-level area with a high-level character is going to seriously impact gameplay for the appropriately-leveled people in the area trying to play the game normally. Imagine a situation where the best place to farm a specific mob is one low-level area where there's also a quest to kill those mobs. Appropriate-level players won't be able to complete the quest, because they will have a dozen VR16 players destroying all the mobs trying to farm the collectible. Ugh.

    2) But more simply, farming in an area where you get no xp, solely to get the collectibles, feels like a horrible waste of time. At least on an alt, you can feel like you being semi-productive, as you are getting XP on them as well.

    3) I've found a number of the items while playing on alts (that I needed on my main collector) while simply playing the game normally (not specifically trying to farm the item). I used to be able to transfer them, thereby giving me less items that I'd need to farm later. Now I have to work to get the item again on my main.

Bottom line, they really should do both. Make them bank transferable, and remove the 5-level rule.

No argument from me. ZOS managed to find the absolute worst way to address confusion about using collectibles, confusion they introduced by making changes on consoles without disclosing them. Their solution made Customer Service happy at the expense of every player working on the Trophy Achievements. And the upcoming changes will help EP players, but don't go nearly far enough.
