Exactly. Thank you for this very well put post!Regarding feedback, in case many pages over multiple topics doesn't make it clear, this change is anti-player for absolutely no rational reason. It was not asked for. It doesn't impact combat or character stats. In fact, it has absolutely no impact whatsoever outside of a player's account-level achievements. So what if the previous system allowed 2 characters on the same account to complete the fishing achievements. Who cares?! It's not like you can get the account-level dye colors twice!

The only thing this change accomplishes is making the trophy achievements so much harder to obtain that only people who have a LOT of time on their hands and an arguably foolish determination to endlessly hunt on a single character will ever get them, and I don't see how that enhances the majority of player's experience.
Clearly you don't understand how they worked before the patch. You never had to do the part of your post that I've put in bold. You would get a collectible on a character, transfer it to the character you were going for the achievement on through the bank, use it, and it would get added to their list on the achievements. It was simple, it was user-friendly, it didn't clutter up your inventory, and most importantly it didn't force vet EP characters to farm DSA hundreds of times if they ever want to complete the achievements.willymchilybily wrote: »I disagreee with OP.
Here is a list of the monster trophies, the fact i dont have to bank them to keep them on me until i get a full set on a character to activate is great.
and the fact most of these are in IC and surrounding VR areas makes it pretty easy to get if i want to try and get them. Really dont understnad why OP was upset but this topic is a month old maybe views have changed.

This is exactly my feeling on it as well. Being able to pass these onto my main gave me one more reason to keep playing ESO. Part of the fun in ESO is playing multiple characters but there are many achievements that simply cannot be done on every character in a reasonable time frame.Exactly. It was very nice as a player to be able to work towards some of these achievements while enjoying playing with different characters, doing more than just trophy hunting. It was nice when if you happened to come across one you needed for another character you could pass it off to them - it was a pleasant surprise, now it just makes you feel bitter. How exactly does this do anything good for the game?

That post was from June, so right after console release. There is a current post that reflects our own current state:I almost choke on a ZOS answer to a post of June 25th on the french forum yesterday :

This was an answer to a Xbox one user asking why he.she couldn't use or bank the bue "collectibles", it says :
"The lack of "use" option on Xbox One is a bug. Our teams are aware of it and will work on a fix."
Now i'm really afraid for the text chat on PC.
I guess the fix was to throw the baby out with the bathwater.Since the 2.1 update (at least for the PC version), the trophies can not be used. They are recognized directly in the success from the time they appear in your inventory. They also relate to the character who collects. You can not transfer them to your other characters through the bank.

ZOS created the confusion by making the collectibles work differently on console, throwing everyone into the same forum, where helpful PC users told console crowd for weeks to USE them. Only we had no idea it didn't work this way on console, cuz ZOS never told anyone. Brilliant. Way to think ahead.DaveMoeDee wrote: »While I prefer the old approach, this is probably the justification for the 'confusion' argument:
People who didn't know what to do with the trophies might have sold them without realizing they could use them. After finding out they should have used them, they could have asked ZOS to un-use their trophies because they didn't know because the game didn't make it clear.
Any confusion now just uses up inventory at worst. This means no one asking for ZOS to make backend changes. Worst case, someone emails them and gets told 'sell it'.

But the players who know what they are doing and who are chasing achievements are basically SOL when it comes to collecting the entire amount of trophies for the achievements.
So I guess the end-question goes to: What is more important: the trophy-hunter who sticks with the game long-term and is more willing to pay a subscription, or the casual-player who is more willing to switch games?

While true that something is better than nothing, I still feel that they're missing the big picture here. There has to be a soloable alternative. Increasing the drop rate on creatures that are specifically related to group content doesn't do much to improve the situation. Not to mention the drop rates would have to have been increased considerably in order to make a difference. A 1% increase isn't really going to be of much help.
Ultimately we're still stuck the same problem, terrible farm spots for limited creatures stuck behind group content that few people are going to want to do repeatedly.
So, Orsinium patch notes for PTS finally mention something about monster trophies, but it's limited to drop rates for a couple of them. 3 things:
1. PLEASE make them bankable again. I don't have the time or the patience to hunt down all trophies on all my alts. This system discourages playing alts.
2. By ZOS' own admission, some trophies are still only found in group content (e.g. vDSA) for certain faction/level combinations. I do group content, but some people might not, especially trials. PLEASE reconsider making trophies available regardless of player-to-monster level gap, or adding missing monsters to other solo areas.
3. Why are you addressing the drop rates for some trophies but not others? I happen to have most of those that are being changed, yet I'm missing bears, wolves, frost atronachs, imps, ogres and spriggans, despite having farmed them specifically for a number of hours in the past month and killed hundreds of the buggers. Are you catering to whomever cries the loudest? Or is there some logic underlying the decision to change only a handful of drop rates?
To your 3rd item, I think they're increasing the drop rate on the ones where the mobs are more rare for vet characters in some alliances. Where the mobs are common for everyone even at max level, they likely decided it's fine to leave the drop rates as is. The more rare mobs get increased drop rate to compensate. It does make logical sense. So, Orsinium patch notes for PTS finally mention something about monster trophies, but it's limited to drop rates for a couple of them. 3 things:

Making the ones that are the biggest problems easier to get is definitely progress. It may not be a full solution, but it's better than the way things are now.progress? the whole answer looks like a standing middle finger to me, and I have a precise idea of where they can stick it up. Hint : it's nowhere near my wallet.

@SokarGoldberg You won't be able to get the Netches in your home alliance zones unless you are within 5 levels of them. Sounds like you out-leveled them since you refer to farming Cold Harbor. I've heard the rumor about bulls vs betties, but don't know if it's true. I did get my drop from a bull. There will be some kagouti added outside EP in the next patch, but I don't recall if netches are being added too. If not, you're limited to Cold Harbor.SokarGoldberg wrote: »Has anybody dropped a collectable in a low level region where he doesn't get XP?
After farming the last 18.. I'm now down to 2. Bull Netches and Kagouti. Beside some lonely Netches in Coldharbour they are only available in low level regions for my EP char. After hunting them for days I'm convinced that they don't drop on low level.
I need some feedback here.. because asking the support is self-mutilation and a complete waste of time.
(the most likely anwer would be anyway: deactivate your addons)
PS: Does anybody know if the Netches item drops from Betty and Bull Netches? Heard a rumor that only Bull Netches count.
