ZOS, how rare is the Valkyn Skoria helm supposed to be ?

Ok i learned this week that all shoulder drops and helm drops must be account bound, i am able to switch shoulders, helms, rare drops (worms cult, ebon, saviour) between chars and wearable among all chars.

Thanks to some in game players for making me aware of this...derp...i am running 3 v14's so able to optimise gear between the three of them. Shoulder drops i got from my main i was able to give to my alts and have them use them !!!

I got a perfect shoulder early on (light, divines) and then I ran coa pretty much 2 or 3 times a day for 2 weeks til I finally got a helm and I'll honestly never run it again because of how much of a pain in the ass it was.

Is it possible for you to increase the helmet drop rate at all?

My reasoning is that I know developers at ZOS want the players to feel good about their gear. That being said, when the upgrade to v16 occurred, that made everyone have to re-earn their same exact gear at just a higher level. Many of us don't even see getting our perfect trait and armor type helmet as even possible any longer because it is much harder now to find people interested in completing the veteran dungeons.

It would just be nice if you helped us feel good about our builds and gear by making it a bit easier to get our good trait helmets. Again, many of us have already earned the helmet in the first place, but just wish that it could be v16. I got my good trait and armor type helmet literally 2-weeks before they became v16 - it took forever and I just am not motivated to try and get the same item again.

Only 10? When you cross the 50 mark call me. Currently on 72 runs in CoH and no helm. Sometimes I really hate you Zenimax.

Its a hard balance between keeping the drops rare enough to make them feel like a difficult reward, or too much tedious work to not enjoy the game whilst earning them, for a portion of the player base it is the latter.

I left the game and dropped my sub because i simply do not have the 100's of hours to grind out v16 gear for even one of my chars, not to mention 4 of them.

Please make stuff BOE or adjust some of the drop rates.

I know its been said before but in this modern gaming world, there is no place for RNG, i'd prefer to earn it, not gamble and waste time.

Valkyn Skoria is the only one that wont drop for me, it seems everyone has one set that is extremely hard to get.

A guild mate runs gold pledges with 3 chars every day and he has not received a single Nerieths shoulder piece for example. Its really annoying to keep getting useless head and shoulder pieces.

There should be a way to influence the item set that drops. For example, every 10th gold key you hand in gives you a choice to pick which set you want to drop.

Shoulder and Helmet combos are for those who're willing to go the extra length to grind them. Sorta long-term goal. I think its just smart designing because some players want unique, really rare items, if that keeps them playing, let them have it.

I got a medium Divines helm on my first run with my nightblade v16.

Before that, 30 runs on my sorc, nothing.

I do have like 30 shoulder pieces though!

Well, if their goal is for players to feel good about the gear they get, then they should nerf the drop rate even further. Because once they do get a hold of the set, they will be very disappointed:

I have the exact opposite luck. I got all 3 armor types shoulders in a row. Just shows that it is all based on chance and is working as it should.

Honestly not worth the effort.

When it dropped at v14, before the nerf, it took me ~50-60 completes to get a helmet, and then i got them back to back 3-4 times.
