Don't get me wrong, I've rabble roused about many other changes, but even after you all's responses I still don't see this as a real issue. Even as it is right now on live, if enemies are camping a body, the rezzer being hidden is not going to make a difference because those visual effects will still go off and give away the fact that someone is being rezzed -- doesn't matter if you're hidden, your cover is blown the second you start rezzing. Not to mention, the person being rezzed still has to restealth once they are alive again, further giving away the fact someone else is around. Because of how it is currently, I don't see this change as negatively affecting small group PvP (my favorite kind) in any significant way as you will still simply wait until the enemies move away before trying to rez.

In reponse to @Ethoir about consistency, that was just my guess about why they are changing this. Much of what ZOS does revolves around internal consistency of game mechanics and systems (remember the consolidation of buffs in the Major/Minor system and the revamping of provisioning with update 1.6? the casualties of those changes were much larger than this one by far). This change may have been on their to do list for months, but just now is getting implemented, who knows. They have to have consistent rules about things, such as what you can do while stealthed, in order to better balance and plan future development.

And you may as well tell me to leave my allies where they fell and not be a team player in that way. I enjoy my NB quite a bit even if I'm not the most proficient at arse-kicking every enemy alliance player I see. One of the best ways I help out as such is doing exactly this, sneaking in and giving the fallen a res (after checking to see if the coast is clear with a detect pot). I'd much rather not expose myself if I can avoid it.

I can deal with the "beam" effect kind of giving away my position and I can quickly re-stealth afterwards and slip away. What I can't deal with is being popped out of stealth the split-second I hit that one button to start resurrecting them. That's a major cosmetic difference that goes from "follow the beam and drop an AoE then kill 'em" (and frankly they should Caltrop a dead player who hasn't released anyway) to "Oh look here I am, come kill me!"

Yes it has its pros and cons. I can just as easily do something about them resurrecting their allies just as much as they can get in my way if they get un-stealthed the split-second they try to res, but this seems unnecessary at this time. That and I get the impression that it's indirectly aimed at NBs because of their "res and cloak away" tricks. They mean well, but again it doesn't feel like its a needed change. They could just disable your hotbar while you are resurrecting someone so you can't interrupt the channel without either being hit by an interrupt skill or by physically moving out of range of the person you are trying to res (with a snare-effect movement speed penalty). But I can't think of any valid alternatives besides that right now.

Has there been anything at all from ZOS to indicate why the change to stealth rezing or is it just straight silence? One of the Dev's cracked it after someone rezzed one of his/her kills? As terrible an idea that I feel it is, I'm open to hearing why they think its a good idea....

Incredible. Why? What is the point to this change? Name one benefit to this change, and why this could be considered an "improvement."

They dont want people not in a zerg to res their friends. IC is all about zerging and ganking. They want people not in the zerg to have to return to base to res.

This is being blown out of proportion. While your character remained hidden while rezzing, the blue resurrection ray was most certainly visible and thus a dead giveaway anyways. I've killed many people by throwing an AoE on the other end of the blue ray and popping them from stealth while they were rezzing. Looting crates, chests, and heavy bags also brings you out of stealth. This is just being consistent with things that you can't do while hidden.

Just because its consistent doesn't mean they have to change it. There's already several ways to keep people from ressing someone including putting an AoE on the dead player as you mentioned (the Caltrops method is popular as is Revealing Flare). So there's really no need for them to change it. ... Besides, after you finish ressing you are popped out of stealth for a couple of seconds anyway. This change is unceccesary.

While it may not be a game changer, it's indicative of deaf ears. No one asked for it, it doesn't help in any way, why do it? The reasoning isn't there, they simply make changes as they wish without considering cause and effect. In this situation, cause is unknown, effect is going to cripple small groups even more.

And the ray isn't visible (on X1), the blue glow on the deceased is, but that's it.

Well it is actually a big difference. While yes the beam gives your position away and shows you're rezzing someone while in stealth, you still are not yet "discovered" - meaning enemy players 20 - 30 meters from you can't hit you with ranged attacks but have to first close that gap to get close to attack you - a decision most archer's won't make. What this will lead to is anyone with snipe sitting back at a safe range and hitting you once you start to rez a teammate. Mine and most the people I play with in small group's modus operandi of rezzing is to stealth up and walk around the area of your dead mates to make sure there are no stealthed campers, if there are, engage and get rid of them, then rez. With this change people won't be camping the bodies, they'll be camping as far away as possible to be just in range of their longest ranged ability. This will make the risk of rezzing someone so much higher that I think 9/10 times it'll be more efficient to release/revive.

Not to mention the person who is about to get revived has a (for him invisible) crosshair floating over his still dead body just to be sniped to death again as soon he hits that "revive" button.

I really want to see a reason why this useless change got introduced.
    It's destroying a pvp important mechanic I'd say :/
