- How does the wep being dropped through PvE have anything to do with considering or not considering the balance in PvP? Every dropped set in the game outside of the PvP reward boxes drops from, you guessed it, PvE.
The devs often design item sets for specific purposes. Most PvP bound sets are more desired in PvP than PvE, and vice versa. It should be no surprise that sometimes they overlook how one may be used in the other scenario
- How does the dot being affected by CP passives mean it's ok that this dot deals more dmg than ultimates like standard/meteor? Every other dot in the game is also affected by those passives.
- Because its over FIVE SECONDS. Meteor may hit for 2k-3k less, but it is instant up front damage. Oh and the DoT would easily put meteor ahead, same with banner.
- Affected by Battle Spirit? Have you tested that? Because there are a number of sets that are not at all affected by Battle Spirit, such as Shield Breaker - that still does 2k dmg to players in Cyrodiil.
- Every set that is unaffected by Battle Spirit has been specifically stated so in patch notes, if it is not then they either missed the documentation of it, or overlooked it
- You're basing your argument on people having 100 points in Thick Skinned? Please don't make me laugh, between Block Expertise, Bastion, and the 501 CP cap, NO ONE will be putting 100 points in Thick Skinned.
Not 100, but still some. Keep in mind Thick skinned isn't the only CP passive that can reduce damage from this.
- Your last point simply shows a lack of experience in PvP. It is impossible to prevent someone from getting the 5m distance they need to crit rush you by staying "in this guy's face".
- As a pure melee build I assure you the only time I let my opponent leave a 5m range is if I'm trying to run away or they have used something like streak/cloak/fear. It's easy to not let someone leave my range when I have access to ambush :^)
I'm grasping at straws? Please, your argument has so many inconsistencies a preschooler could point them out.
What's the issue? You cant seriously be defending that 2hnder passive in particular. I would question your motives and your sanity if you are. I actually think it is so OP its comical. Where is my LOL button?

ScruffyWhiskers wrote: »Broken record time for Scruffy, but can you please add a magicka melee player to your itemization team.
There is not a single maelstrom weapon that would help a magicka melee player (maybe the restro one on the second bar but even then it's much more geared for a primary healer).
The crafted gear has Julianos which is nice but not magicka melee specific and I already have my poor man Julio's in Kag's Hope.
I think you are teasing me with the Armor of the Code. It almost looks like it was a set that was abandoned and the data was left in the code so the reveal through the mining was accidental.
Maybe your are saving all the good stuff for the Dark Brotherhood DLC. I sure hope so.
Also why don't we see any class specific skill altering weapons/items?
Wouldn't the dagger's buff to single target dots be useful for some caster builds?
No. You would loose much damage and essential stamina, you already don't have enough stamina to survive usually.
Steel tornado won't deal any damage for a caster. I don't think, this is a possibility. And the weapon damage on the dagger is actual weapon damage, no weapon-weapon damage that applies to spells as well.
It's Flurry, not Steel Tornado. Still true.
Pfff, why did I say Steel tornado ? O.o Must have been distracted.
Flurry of course
P.S. I wish one day that staves would have MORE spell damage than melee weapons....... I still do not agree with that crap. Why should I be forced to use daggers to get the most spell damage for my caster >_>

You really think a 20k damage (not counting crits or cp so will be closer to probably 30k) insta cast dot is Gunna b bad in pve O.o I for sure will b running that on any pve stam build whether it's front bar or back. You can cast crit rush while being in wb range so really there isn't much of a reason nor to use it.

This is because your entire discourse is predicated on a problematic paradigm of staff-centrism. Those of us of magicaka melee nb persuasion are firmly persuaded that two magic swords should spell power the pants off of a single staff.
Besides magic swords can cut things. They have to be forged by a master weapon smith using secret techniques passed down from generation to generation. If only there were magic Katanas but that's another diatribe.
Staffs are just big sticks that some hedge wizard finds lying on the ground and after a little drunken dance, mumbling and probably some fairy dust they shoot fire balls or mock you with light attack bonuses after you cast a useless spell that creates a static wall of stationary sadness that nobody is stupid enough to stand in.
Iyou @ScruffyWhiskers but I still do not like that melee weapons give more sd than staffs.......

Ok. Let's make them equal! I can live with that. Actually, I have always tried to make a destro staff work on my second bar and have failed every time. I would love it if they boosted the spell power. I'm for anything that boosts spell power.
If elected President of Tamriel the Magicka Rebalancing Act would be my first signature bill. Oh, and I would also throw all stam users into the Imperial Prison too.

I also think, that dual wield can gladly add the biggest amount of weapon damage, but destruction staves should definately add the biggest amount of spell power.
A staff is meant to channel your arcane power, but daggers do it better ?this can't be right.

so much this! Eric gave a bunk excuse as to why they did it that way.... When I asked him why WoE damage was so lack luster compared to the ever so popular PBAOE steel tornado, he said and I quote " we increased the duration of WoE so we feel it is pretty good right now. Besides if you stand in it you are going to melt *insert awkward chuckle*"

Since IC launched. With the exception of Thaum, since it's broken atm and not appearing on TT's (it still works though on actual damage)

And then you'll still have your exploiters who people report left and right that ZoS defends like they're devs themselves. It's not sets that ruin this game, it's the players.
