Martial knowledge

Is it still worth it to run vr14 gold martial knowledge if you don't have overwhelming surge because I personally don't like any on the stone sets and I just waste my stones trying to get costumes and maybe some black rose for my Dk .

Yes, it is still a viable option as sources of SD is still very helpful. Focus on upgrading your weapons though (as this can boost your dmg) and start looking into jewelry investments (if money or time allows).

If you have the space the 5-set Kagnrenac's Hope is a good replacement, it gives nearly as much spell dmg (v16 gold) and more max magicka. You also get magicka regen, max health, reduced rez time and higher stats from gear enchants.

How do you get it is it craftable?

Yes, it gets crafted at the Earth Forge.

Yes, Kagrenac is a crafted set. It requires 8 traits researched and one piece at V16 needs 130 to 150 materials. For reference, 100 pieces Ancestor Silk (V15+ cloth material) costs about 100k gold on PC right now three days ago.

Yes, it's craftable. You have to complete the final quest in the fighters guild line, then you have access to the Earth Forge from most fighter's guild locations. You go through the portal in the fighter's guild and you appear at the Earth Forge. At the Earth Forge there are 2 crafting stations, Kagnrenac's Hope and Orgnum's Scales. Both require knowing 8 traits.

Since learning 8 traits is time consuming to do, I'll give you a link that shows all of the craftable sets, their requirements and abilities.

As others have said, Kagrenac's is craftable and a good alternative to Martial Knowledge. MK tops at VR14, while Kagrenac's can be crafted at VR16. It also has the advantage of getting any trait on any piece, while MK has fixed traits for each piece, and not all are the best. The 5-piece bonus of Kagrenac's (all legendary and VR16), at ~230 spell damage (don't remember the exact number) almost completely replaces the 2 spell damage bonus of the VR14 MK. If you're willing to drop your monster set, you can go:

5x Kagrenac (max magicka, max health, magicka regen, spell damage, plus the neat increased res speed bonus)
1x Molag Kena shoulders (spell damage)
2/3x Torugs (1 piece of gear and 1 or 2 weapons)

If and when you get your Kena helmet, you could try to go with 2x Molag Kena, but then you can only get a bonus from Torug's if/when you dual wield. As a sorc, this might work, e.g. master staff on primary bar and 2x Torug's on secondary/execute bar.

LOL, show me where you can find Ancestor Silk for that cheap. It's the most expensive of the new mats (though not by that much, really), with the average over the past 3 days being over 600 per silk. But here's the problem: try to find it in large quantities at that MM average price. You might find a few smatterings here and there, but after going through the capital cities, Crag, and Rawl, I found about, er, 20 or so at that price. There were a few other listings (not much) at higher prices. If you find it for that low, then you got lucky and found someone selling it for cheap--those deals are snapped up very quickly, though.

That said, 100K is more like the price during the first week of release and is way too high. But 40K for 100 is way too low.

In any case, I find I have better luck trading my other mats for Ancestor Silks instead.
