Depending on how well the upcoming DLC's are received by current, new or returning players, when do you think ESO will go F2P? Just by reading the threads and viewing the forums you can see that people do not like IC for numerous reasons (bugs, lag, grind, zerg mentality etc).

    It's already Buy to Play. Having no need for a sub is free enough, imo.

    PS. I love Imperial City and so do my friends and guildies.

    As for the question, I don't think ESO will go free, or rather I hope it doesn't. If it does go completely free we can kiss any meaningful content goodbye most likely and that's when I leave.

    I like PvP. Going F2P won't get rid of the zergs, if that was what you were hoping for ...

    Silly gripe for silly thread: I don't like that Tamriel Unlimited became apart the new ESO title. I cringed a bit when the title changed and they started calling it ESOTU instead of ESO.

    Id say in a year. B2p goes f2p when people stop buying the game.

    Pc sales can't be great due to constant 75% off deals advertised. Console sales drop quickly since unlike pc the game can be resold. You can already get it used on ps4 for $30.

    Am I misunderstanding or are you saying people buying used copies are sales for zos? Zos only makes money once...

    The game is buy to play as in the person has to go to the store be in person or online and purchase it. Free to play is were all the have to do is down load the game and last timed I checked that wasn't really a popular thing on consoles the only free games on consoles are pay gated indie games that are give a day or two worth of game play.

    Having to buy a DLC or rent through a subscription in order to gain access to new gear, levels, etc... is not F2P. At some point, the base game alone will not be enough.

    I may see them reducing the rate of producing new copies but I don't see them going straight to F2P so easily. Box prices are better than no prices at all as far as initial revenue goes.

    If they go F2P they will have to rely even more on subscriptions and the cash shop than they already do. So I honestly hope they never convert to that model.
