We will be closing the Thornblade campaign on the PC/Mac North American and European megaservers with this patch, and introducing our first Imperial City gated access campaign: Axe of Belharza.
If you have earned at least Tier 1 rewards in Thornblade at the time it is closed, you will receive them shortly after logging in.
Anyone previously assigned to Thornblade will receive a free home campaign reassignment.
The Axe of Belharza campaign has the same scoring methods as Thornblade:
Resources, outposts, and Elder Scrolls will generate zero points. Ownership of keeps will generate one point per scoring cycle
The campaign has a 7-day duration.
Both Veteran and non-Veteran player characters may join this new campaign.
Access to the Imperial City is gated in the Axe of Belharza campaign by owning your native six keeps.

Putting all my brainpower and very heavy thinking into this new and welcomed feature leads me to the conclusion that it probably won't change anything. Why go there, if you have like 5+ other campaigns with open access for everyone?

Only 5 or so more patchs until they're all closed WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP
I am afraid this will not change much. For this to get us anywhere it needs to be the rule and not the singular exception. Especially with players already having home campaigns set. They need to leave 2 campaigns with open access, and have the rest be gated.
Honestly I think it might be a good idea for these 2 campaigns I mention to not even have cyrodiil. You enter the queue for these and are put straight into ic. It could just be my bias, but I feel that would make the games pvp much more healthy. Maybe this is an even crazier suggestion for my idea, but these 2 campaigns would not be homed or guested. Anyone can enter them at anytime, and there would be no leader board.
We will definetly give it a try.How many guilds are planning to try the new campaign. I need to move Wabbajack and would love to know if it's worth heading there.
That campaign will most likely be a flop. Gated access is only interesting if ALL CAMPAIGNS HAVE GATED ACCESS.
It's not gated if you can just home another campaign..... Do they ever think their decisions through?

My concern is that a gated campaign will be host to all of one alliance's PVErs. They just have to roll all the keeps and maintain it that way so that they won't have to PVP in IC. .

This means that unless the campaigns are somehow magically perfectly balanced, that IC access will be down for at least one alliance.
This will not go well.
A better idea would have been to requre the two keeps "surrounding" the access points. That would lead to a much more dynamic game.
