I have spent 2 weeks with multiple runs daily to farm the gear sets that drop from these dungeons. The problem I am having is the drop rate is so incredibly low, that farming these dungeons has become all my game time has been devoted to. When did this become Elder Scrolls Grind Until Your Eyes Bleed? I understand that there should be some sort of grind being new content and what not... but this is absurd.
Trials has become obsolete, and I feel like I should just make a long term PvP set with easier to get gear and just PvP. The new PvE content is dying rapidly as well as a lot of the player base (from my perspective). Old PvE content can only be ran so many times before it gets old as well.
Anyone else have thoughts regarding the state of the game and gear drops being almost impossible to get?
Drop rates seem in line with coach but the difference is the number of sets. Have run coa between 80 and 100 times now and have yet to get burning spell weave pegs while I've gotten all the other pieces 3+ times. In 2 prison runs and about 10 or so why runs I've managed to get 4 overwhelming pieces (one is head tho) and 1 scathing mage and 2 sheer venom pieces. I know my guild in who I usually run with has about the same and he's only done it like 15-20 times. I really don't get how ring can seemingly vary so much between plagers yet still be consistent over many runs for a particular player.
It's actually blowing my mind you guys are having this much trouble getting the set. As a group were usually seeing 3-4 pieces drop a run. Overwhelming seems to drop all day for my group. However, scathing us a totally different story. Only seen 2 drops of it so far.A temporary fix until ZOS look into it was to increase the loot from chest drops, which I still think dungeon chests should have more than the district chests considering it's double* the trophies needed and they are bound.
@ZOS_RichLambert any news for the loot drops though?
*2.5x the number of trophies.Sounds like you want your gear NOW and then complain there's nothing to do while waiting for the next DLC.IxskullzxI wrote: »LOL at people complaining that they don't have all their gear two weeks into the dlc.
I think you've both completely missed the point. At the current rate, someone with the time available to run these dungeons at least 2-3 times per night might not finish gearing their toon before Orsinium drops. It would be nice to have any faith whatsoever that we might have one or two weeks before Orsinium arrives to fully test new gear and get our builds polished before we actually have new leaderboard content.
Also, if the players who've been battling for the top leaderboard spots are having difficult times believing they'll ever fill out their new gear sets, how about the people who can only complete one run of either dungeon a night? What about those who can only do one or two runs a week? For someone like me the rate at which I filled out my Aether/Two-Fanged Snake/Vicious Ophidian sets was perhaps too fast, but I still new several people I was running with at the end of 1.6 who'd still never even completely their Aether sets (collectors I guess). I personally think BoE and a trophy drop rate that would fill a vault unlock with two complete runs would be fine (though that rate would just be exactly the same as Kena or the Warden guaranteeing 1 drop of the new sets).
Don't the pieces also come in varying traits (-.- )? It is such an extreme grind if you want the "good" gear versions.
I think being able to trade items within your group and making the veteran vault room guarantee 3 or 4 pieces of gear would help a lot, especially if you are one of those people who get the piece someone else wants and they get whatever you want. I certainly have that happen to me a lot.
I think the drop rate is the same as the other veteran dungeon set pieces and I mean, how many times have all of us not done those for pledges? I've only been able to complete two of the three sets (those being Ebon and Saviour), plus a few of the weapon sets, none of which are any good, but all require an enourmous amount of A ) Luck with RNG and B ) bucketloads of time.
Some of the new sets are great, but if they don't change the droprates and such, most people will not have a full set for the next 6 months, lol.
I honestly think I had better luck getting drops of Worm Cult, Savior, or Ebon.

See, I would be okay with the low drop rate as well if I knew the pieces came in the perfect trait. THAT I would grind for... but to grind for low drop sets that have random traits? Yeah... not so much.

Yea I absolutely agree here. The guys I know who have the new sets have literally spent their lives farming in there. Even upping the drop rates on the chests aren't cutting it. At this point with so many new sets, each boss should guarantee a drop every time. I play a lot but I can't imagine getting every piece of the sets I want for many months. As you said, there is just way too many things in game I want to do other than camping WGT 24/7.
Trial end bosses drop a piece every time, including a once a week coffer. But that was only for 3 sets. With even more sets out this patch, we need to guarantee drops per boss or possibly 2 on the final bosses. Anyone even remotely casual will never get a full set of v16.. and as in never I literally mean never. Good thoughts here

It probably seems like that, but you also have to consider that some places like Elden Hollows and such can be speedrun in 12 minutes and have more bosses than WGT, whereas WGT for comparison can be speedrun in 35-40 minutes, with only 4 bosses. Of course Tower and Prison are similar to veteran City of Ash in the sense that gear drops from the trash mobs, but it is very ineffective to kill all the trash on veteran seeing how *** long it takes <.<

In 40 runs i saw Molag kena dropping just once ( to me)) . Drop rates are really really low and should be increased as soon as possible. Unfortunately i haven't saw any comments from ZOS going in that direction .
