Loot Drops in Vet WGT and Prison

It would really be nice if @zos would give an update to increased loot drops from these dungeons.

I have spent 2 weeks with multiple runs daily to farm the gear sets that drop from these dungeons. The problem I am having is the drop rate is so incredibly low, that farming these dungeons has become all my game time has been devoted to. When did this become Elder Scrolls Grind Until Your Eyes Bleed? I understand that there should be some sort of grind being new content and what not... but this is absurd.

Trials has become obsolete, and I feel like I should just make a long term PvP set with easier to get gear and just PvP. The new PvE content is dying rapidly as well as a lot of the player base (from my perspective). Old PvE content can only be ran so many times before it gets old as well.

Anyone else have thoughts regarding the state of the game and gear drops being almost impossible to get?

@ZOS_RichLambert - I'd also like an update. I haven't done quite as many runs as some (took me a loooooong time to get my willpower rings), but I've still just got a single set piece for a stamina build - I run mainly casters.

Yea I absolutely agree here. The guys I know who have the new sets have literally spent their lives farming in there. Even upping the drop rates on the chests aren't cutting it. At this point with so many new sets, each boss should guarantee a drop every time. I play a lot but I can't imagine getting every piece of the sets I want for many months. As you said, there is just way too many things in game I want to do other than camping WGT 24/7.

Trial end bosses drop a piece every time, including a once a week coffer. But that was only for 3 sets. With even more sets out this patch, we need to guarantee drops per boss or possibly 2 on the final bosses. Anyone even remotely casual will never get a full set of v16.. and as in never I literally mean never. Good thoughts here

lol i completely agree . These things need to change.

At first it was interesting, now im disenchanted with The Elder Grind Online Experience. Dungeon drop rates, rate of leveling, and CP problems are my biggest issues. because of this, ive chosen to unsub & play something else.

Hopefully things get better one day

I've ran the new dungeons a lot but it's only been 2 weeks. I work full time and manage to work out/have a real life outside of the game and still have a almost complete sets from vWGT. If it takes 2 weeks to farm the one instance and another 2 weeks to farm the second, I think 1 month is a very reasonable investment into gear that could last for 2 patch cycles which is 6 months (really 5 months since we farm for 1).

    Maybe I'm wrong but that's my 2cents.

I work full time and have done WGT plenty (not much prison though) and have received one set piece that's remotely interesting for any of my casters (my three toons I play the most right now). I believe that you're just on the right side of RNGesus.

Huh? Things are out of sync and everyone is raging? The OP wants to see the drop rate increased. I believe he presented it respectfully and with tact. Nice name by the way.. kindred spirits.

The extra piece of gear from the trophy vaults is pretty big when it comes to the BoP dropped sets. All you need to do is get lucky with chest/gloves (or even just gloves since those drop off the last boss) and you can create a 5pc set without tons of farming spread throughout a few months.

Or you can have my luck and just need gloves for pmuch every set because vaults hate me.

A temporary fix until ZOS look into it was to increase the loot from chest drops, which I still think dungeon chests should have more than the district chests considering it's double the trophies needed and they are bound.
@ZOS_RichLambert any news for the loot drops though?

I did my share of wgt vet. I am runing it every day since 10 days ago. I got only overwhelming boots x 4 - nothing else ( just try to calculate probability that i will get 4 boots in row).
I will just remind u that lucky individual who has almost full sets is not proper example coz he is just like i said - lucky.
I havent saw molag kena helm dropping at all.
Drop rates should be increased by large margin coz so far personally i dont have feeling that i progress at all ( regarding gear or output ).

Drop rates seem in line with coach but the difference is the number of sets. Have run coa between 80 and 100 times now and have yet to get burning spell weave pegs while I've gotten all the other pieces 3+ times. In 2 prison runs and about 10 or so why runs I've managed to get 4 overwhelming pieces (one is head tho) and 1 scathing mage and 2 sheer venom pieces. I know my guild in who I usually run with has about the same and he's only done it like 15-20 times. I really don't get how ring can seemingly vary so much between plagers yet still be consistent over many runs for a particular player.

I have been looking forward to getting new gear to replace the too easy to get martial knowledge gear.

But i have only one slightly usefull drop in about 10 normal prison and wgt runs and 3 vet wgt runs.

On the eu server ad side i often spend the whole evening playing without even seeing people make a farm group in zone chat.
This has to be a sign of something.

I am lucky to have a few friends that i played with over the last year , so we keep trying to get past the planar inhibitor

But i dont expect to have a usable set of gear (like boots, trousers, belt, gloves) of scathing mage or overwhelming before christmas.

When the Trials dropped the Aether gear i used to do 5 trial runs an evening for 3 weeks with different groups

Trials took 15-20 mins, these new vet dungeons take much longer, so doing 5 an evening after coming home from work is an illusion

The game became The Elder Scrolls Grind back in March with the Champion Point system update.

Drops in this game have sucked since they started allowing players in the Beta testing and haven't changed one bit. Thank god I don't play this game for drops..... I would have quit on Day 2.....

Says the guy that probably already has his gear. Not to mention 7-8 of each monster helm to go with it. Sorry, but the rng is terrible on both fronts and needs to be addressed for both of these issues.

the rate at which casuals can complete the new dungeons to get gear is horrid especially with the crap drop rates. I have ran vet wgt multiple times (at least 10 so far) and have NEVER got a single piece of the new set gear except for essence thief....and I dont even want that. Was the reward for how long it takes to complete worth it? Nope, not in the slightest. Thats what people are complaining about.

The way the RNG works: The game knows what you are looking for and will give you everything else instead.

So if you run a dungeon umpteen times to farm a particular set, you are going to get a whole bunch of decon junk and a few set pieces that you don't need (unless you have several high-level characters).

You are more likely to get your set pieces if you:

    1. run it because it's the pledge
    2. are helping a friend complete the dungeon
    3. Are trying to get a different set

That's how I get Nirncrux. I never find it when I'm actually looking for it.

These two dungeons are set up to be extremely hard, while some may enjoy banging their heads against the keyboard so they can get that one achievement at the end, I doubt the majority of players want to be in one dungeon for hours to get a complete and get nothing out of it. Someone in one of my guilds linked the hard mode achievement the other day and I had to laugh as he didn't get a helm.

The trophy idea is a step in the right direction IMO and could be expanded to the point that you get a choice of 1 piece of loot instead of RNG meaning that your hard work could be all for nothing.

I think you've both completely missed the point. At the current rate, someone with the time available to run these dungeons at least 2-3 times per night might not finish gearing their toon before Orsinium drops. It would be nice to have any faith whatsoever that we might have one or two weeks before Orsinium arrives to fully test new gear and get our builds polished before we actually have new leaderboard content.

Also, if the players who've been battling for the top leaderboard spots are having difficult times believing they'll ever fill out their new gear sets, how about the people who can only complete one run of either dungeon a night? What about those who can only do one or two runs a week? For someone like me the rate at which I filled out my Aether/Two-Fanged Snake/Vicious Ophidian sets was perhaps too fast, but I still new several people I was running with at the end of 1.6 who'd still never even completely their Aether sets (collectors I guess). I personally think BoE and a trophy drop rate that would fill a vault unlock with two complete runs would be fine (though that rate would just be exactly the same as Kena or the Warden guaranteeing 1 drop of the new sets).

Don't the pieces also come in varying traits (-.- )? It is such an extreme grind if you want the "good" gear versions.

I think being able to trade items within your group and making the veteran vault room guarantee 3 or 4 pieces of gear would help a lot, especially if you are one of those people who get the piece someone else wants and they get whatever you want. I certainly have that happen to me a lot.

I think the drop rate is the same as the other veteran dungeon set pieces and I mean, how many times have all of us not done those for pledges? I've only been able to complete two of the three sets (those being Ebon and Saviour), plus a few of the weapon sets, none of which are any good, but all require an enourmous amount of A ) Luck with RNG and B ) bucketloads of time.

Some of the new sets are great, but if they don't change the droprates and such, most people will not have a full set for the next 6 months, lol.
