Being able to use poisons on weapons would be the only reason I'd use a bow again. Oh how much I love that in Skyrim!!

A player can only use one pot per CD since ZOS fixed double pots, and there are already pots to increase flat damage and crit. Along with several buffs, debuffs, dots, and CC effects already in the game. Most of the typical poison effects are already accounted for.

So it sounds like the game mechanics have precedent, that's great.
Now they just need a bit of rebranding and maybe weapon application.

More like the effects already exist attacted to skills and even potions, so it would be superfluous. Why bother reworking something that already ready is in game, just to add a different deliver system.

I don't understand this question. I can't now make a deadly horrible poison and put it on my dagger and stabbity. Why would I not want this?

(No, having a bow with "poison damage" does not fulfill this urge.)

You can't add poison damage with enchantments? There are Glyphs of Poison to put on all weapons.

It's in the play; adding a glyph doesn't fulfill the urge. If I'm going to be a deadly assassin, I want to be able to brew my own poisons and apply them directly with excellent visual and auditory effects. Visceral enjoyment for the win.

Though I loved Dishonored and they had alternate means of applying poisons. But still more visceral. Wow, now that I think about it, I would LOVE some sleep poisons for my bow as well. Non-lethal takedowns are trickier and much fun.

I was a big poison crafter and user in Skyrim. Thunk a poison arrow into an enemy, then calmly watch as they run at you with their little battle cry only to drop dead at your feet. Good times.

Anyone else, when first playing with ESO alchemy, make what they thought was a poison, try to apply it to their weapon, and wind up drinking it?

You have to look at this within the larger Elder Scrolls Timeline.
    • This game takes place in the Second Era around 2E 583.
    • We know for a fact that poisons, spell crafting and other abilities were used widely in the Third Era 3E 433 when Oblivion takes place.
    • The Second Era lasted until 2E 897 when Tiber Septim declared the Second Era over.

So by my calculations, our wait time for these features is somewhere between 300-800 years.

However they should let us get a head start on poison crafting now. Here's why.

By the time we collect 33 poison sub-atomic particle groups, then refine this into one poison atom, then combine that with 6.0221413e+23 other atoms to get one molar mass of poison. Then combine that again using an RNG process to create one drop of unrefined poison. Then refine 50 drops of unrefined poison to make one potent poison tincture, then take 10 poison tinctures to coat our blades, enough to get one poisoned strike, that will take at least 100 years so we should really get a head start on it.

This is what I suggest: ZOS should make it so that poison sub-atomic particles have a 10% chance of dropping when you refine 10 Perfect Roe. Then we could get a head start.

Yes poison would be a nice thing added to the game but ZOS first needs to fix DOTs first before they add anything like this. Cause how it stands now DOTs are totally useless and only effective when every one in your group is using/spamming it.
