The seducer set reduces magicka costs by 8%
The magnus set has a 8% chance to negate the cost of a spell.
Thanks in advance.
You would need upwards of 35 points into magician to reach the 8% of seducer, at that point magnus is clearly the better set. I assume you are referring to light armor in a traditional 5 light 2 heavy or 5 light 1 medium 1 heavy setup as well, as light armor gives 3% cost reduction based on how many pieces you have. If you are doing less light armor or no light armor at all the total number of points into magician goes up well into the point where additional points are offering significant diminishing returns.
That is something I forgot to add into consideration. There are actually 3 sources of cost reduction here.
- Light armor cost reduction
- Seducer cost reduction
- CP cost reduction
So do any of these sources of cost reduction interfere with each other or will they all provide their exact listed value regardless of the other sources? In other words are they additive or multiplicative? Is 8% + 8% +8% cost reduction 24% total cost reduction or less than 24% total cost reduction.

More specifically I am wondering if the cp cost reduction and seducer interfere with each other in a way that would reduce the value that either might provide causing the magnus to pull further ahead. I understand the traditional debate, I want to see if the addition of cp cost reduction has changed that debate in any way.

Ever since the spell damage meta came out, Magnus has always been a better option than Seducer, even for healers. Nothing should have changed between last patch and this one.

Magnus is dead, sorry...
