If this bears out, this is one of several reasons why this change is so anti-player. This. Will. Happen. I've been the victim of that behavior in every other MMO I've played except for this one, until now, because until now we could transfer our trophies between characters. Seriously, why would a player take the time to farm mobs at or near their level when they can go erase entire low-level populations in a fraction of the time? This can absolutely impact the ability of low level characters to complete quests. But then there might be a problem of VR16s going and farming level 8 areas and ruining the game for lowbies...

I personally would prefer to farm trophies from creatures at or near the same level as my characters whenever possible. I figure I'm going to be at it for while so I might as well get as much XP as I can while I'm there. Not to mention loot drops. I would not be inclined to farm creatures well below my current level unless absolutely necessary as I would get little to nothing out of it other than the trophy itself.
Now I've no doubt that if they did remove the level restriction there'd be some people who'd be total A-holes about it. One possible way of dealing with that though could be to decrease/increase the chances of a trophy dropping in proportion to the level difference between the player and the mob. So if you've got a player who's ten levels or higher than the creature they're fighting the odds of getting a trophy are cut in half. Conversely if a player is ten levels or lower than the creature they're fighting the odds of getting a trophy double.
Probably not the best solution but it might deter the majority of people from flooding low level zones looking for fast and easy kills.

i kept it there perminantly and i have played morrowind with that skull in my inventory like a fetish ever since. even in oblivion and also in skyrim i allways keep a skull in my inventory.
the same thing here in eso, when you kill so many skeletons you get a free trophy of a skull and i keep it in my inventory on ALL my characters even on my bank Vault alts inventory.
it is a fetish with me that i do not want to let go of, and reminds me of Divayth Fyr and my memories of morrowind and also my love for necromancy.
so please do not take that skull away from me.
please.

While I understand and agree that it is not ideal for high level players to farm low level areas, I disagree as to assuming the motive is only for easy kills. Anyone who has a vet started in the first months of the game is now over-leveled for home alliance mobs that drop collectibles and also missed out on the chance because collectibles were broken the first few months of the game. If there were good locations for all collectibles in each alliance, there would be no need to remove level restrictions. Same goes for making collectibles bankable to trade with alts. But without those abilities removing level restrictions is the only practical way to get some collectibles, and the motive is not easy kills but just finding areas with reasonable monster populations so you aren't waiting 5 minutes or so between kills for respawns because there are only a handful of monsters available. Most obvious example is nix-hound for EP vets. This was tough even before the new changes, because most nix-hounds are only in Stonefalls. Most new players aren't even aware of collectibles when they go through their first area. Chasing collectibles also forces players to make a choice between getting the collectible by grinding while knowing that this will likely over-level them for many quests. Circling back, vets are going to farm where the monster populations are high, regardless of difficulty. It makes sense for time management. I'm chasing Wraith Shackle. You bet I wish I could farm in Westtry, but I'm DC so I'm left with two lousy options. The model Zos should follow to fix this is the jackals they added to Craglorn. They need to ensure that ALL collectibles are available in all vet areas with decent monster populations and not locked behind group content.
Keep sending the feedback in-game. As I've found, though, it might not be getting through (see this thread for details), so until you get confirmation that your feedback is actually going to someone, I encourage you to send even more. If my own experience (4 tickets opened in-game since the patch, 2 of them didn't go through) is anything to go by, only half of our tickets are actually successfully getting to ZOS, so make sure you send enough to guarantee that some gets through.Sneak_Thief wrote: »Several days and still no word from ZOS on the forums or my daily feedback submissions in game. Furthermore, I consider that collectibles must be bankable.
Yup. They said that, and until they provide us with a list showing the results of the audit and where each of the monsters needed for trophies can be farmed for characters of every level in every alliance, I call *** on that. They're never going to show us the list, though, because they know that the audit was just a check of the game code to see if the monster existed somewhere - I guarantee that some of those monsters are in places where it's essentially impossible to farm them (nix hound for EP vets, I'm looking at you).ZOS already stated in an earlier thread that every vet of any alliance is able to get all trophies from monsters. They made an audit on that
So that´s where we are. Best option for AD to get fleshy symbiont is Crypt of Hearts. Best option for EP to get multifacetted eye is DSA Vet?
Don´t ask me, it was just stated in a trophy thread that they made an audit on the trophy thing and everyone is able to get any trophy he likes. They just forgot to add "as tedious as it may be".
And let´s not forget the fleshy symbiont bug was there for how long, a year? It plain sucks and I´m about to say good-bye to my intentions to get all achievements. It´s just not worth it because it ain´t no more fun it starts to feel as I am going to work. gj zos

Unless they change this back, I will not be making the effort to get all the monster trophies.
I'm more upset about the fishing trophies, however.
It takes an incredible amount of time to earn the Master Angler achievement and the TITLE. The title is important to those of us who put in the time. I had been banking my trophy fish and using them on my secondary character so she could also get the title more easily. Now all of those trophy fish are destined to end up at a vendor.
Sigh.
If they started dropping for all mobs regardless of whether they're not an appropriate level to give you loot and XP, that would make it so that the achievement was possible on all characters for sure... But then there might be a problem of VR16s going and farming level 8 areas and ruining the game for lowbies...NewBlacksmurf wrote: »So not that this helps but on Xbox the stuff falls now pre IC regardless of level.

This is a side issue, which if ZOS refuses to revert these changes, will be an even bigger issue, I don't want to grind 1 mob for a week (on a toon I dont even want to be on) with the assumption it "should" drop its trophy, and still get nothing. About to put it yet another feedback on this issue, ZOS if you are reading this, It will not stop.

I've been in IC every day since it hit, and have, like you, been murdering many deadra. And when I say "many," I mean "millions."I've received one scamp collar or whatever it is (which I already had marked off). OFC I forget now, but yeah. One. On countless runs to the center of the sewers and beyond, on countless sweeps through the city, and the whole quest line.

I've posted so many times on these threads about monster trophies that it's not even funny, but I'm pitching in to add to the people who are saying they've been farming in IC and haven't gotten any trophies. I too have spent tens of hours grinding in the sewers. I've leveled one character from VR14 to VR16 and another from VR12 to VR16 there. I've farmed those vault keys for hours on end while helping a buddy level his own character. I've had NO trophies drop for me.
Making trophies bound makes sense IN THEORY. If a character didn't kill a monster, why should he have the trophy?. But IN PRACTICE, it just made the whole thing worse, and basically an exercise in frustration. The problems:
- Not every faction has all monsters available in decent quantities once a character has reached VR1 (most glaring example being Nix Hounds for EP);
- The drop rates for several monsters seem to be HUGELY different. I've specifically farmed some trophies for hours, killing thousands of monsters, with no luck. IC sewers is a good example - I've killed thousands upon thousands of trash mobs there and NO TROPHIES WHATSOEVER. Other trophies, including Chattering Skulls, Whirring Dynamos or Petrified Spider Eggs, CONSISTENTLY seem to drop all the time.
ZOS need to fix the drop rates and ensure farming spots that can be soloed for all trophies at the very least. I wouldn't mind the fact that trophies are bound if I knew it was actually worth it to farm them. Right now, I've basically given up on them.

I've been saving my trophies thinking I could eventually do something with them. Like, when we get housing or sell them to a collector for more money. I'm guessing I'm wasting my time. I thought not being able to bank them was something they were gonna fix
