HUGE waste of time

game is going to die soon I think. that huge waste of time IC is a joke spend hours getting stones and lose it all to 1 sec fear and gank. not many people will play having this happen over and over . there no fun in being forced to go to pvp to get new armors. Also killed some players and never got any stones from them. happened several times players had just killed stuff to so they had stones. not sure what BS was happening there.
have a blessed day!

Because having to endure PVP is the way to encourage PVEers to enjoy the new content?

Can't always experience a successful tv stones accumulation. You win some, you lose some. I lost a few thousand stones a few times now, but I also make it up with my spoils and also end up a good positive net at end of the day. I'm a PVE player but considering if got 27k stones and creeping up, I understand the risk vs rewards in IC as it was intended that way.

I've seen your posts, and it really seem like this won't be a game for you.

Exactly! Maybe it's a generational thing where the younger crowd expects to be rewarded no matter what? Who knows, but it seems like people loose some stones and run right to the forums to complain about how it isn't fair.

The more time people spend in IC, the more apparent different tactics will be. You can get into your sewers, farm 500 stones and bank them in about 20-30 minutes. I've got my first 5 piece set and another 4k stones in the bank, and I've lost plenty of fights. You win some, you lose some is a great way to describe IC.

It's based on the amount of Tel Var Stones you carry. Here's a rough break-down of how it works:

When you carry more than 100 Tel Var Stones but less than 1,000, the amount of stones you get from monsters in the Imperial City is doubled.
When you carry more than 1,000 Tel Var Stones but less than 10,000, the amount of stones you get from monsters in the Imperial City is tripled.
When you carry more than 10,000 Tel Var Stones, you will get four stones instead of one for every stone you loot from a dead monster! You crazy risk-taker, you.
Going back to the example above: If you kill a boss monster worth 500 Tel Var Stones with a group of four friends, and you are already carrying 4,000 stones, while your friends have 600, 100, and 10 respectively, you will earn 375 stones, while your friends will get 250, 250, and 125.

You don't need to go into IC for decon items. You can farm those mats by going into any dungeon now at V15 or V16. The bosses drop V15 and V16 gear to decon.

This is exactly why I always leave 100 stones on me whenever I hit the bank. Start off with a 2x bonus, and losing 100 stones is no big deal if that happens.

That ALSO is an amateur tip:

Actually, unless they changed the mechanic from announced, its MUCH worse to be in a zerg, but people dont realize it. This is from Rich Lambert on the ESO Live IC special, (timecode 56:28):

    https://youtu.be/KmdWFdS_Hg8?t=3388

You can have up to 12 contributors, (including those outside the group).... as long as you do up to 10% of the damage/heals,

If you have 30 people beating on something, only 12 are gonna get something.

otoh, me and a lot of other players don't like PvP.

Which means that a lot of us will just stop playing at the point that we're out of PvE and PvP is all that's left.

    No prob.
Everyone has the point where they have no reason to keep playing.
For some of us, PvP is it.
For others, the lag, 900+ latency and 1 to 5 FPS is enough to toss in the towel before we get further along enough to get to IC.

I don't like PvP, especially if I get looted, but having to give up my add-ons to keep playing PvE is pushing me to give up my sub and walk away way before I ever have to get to dread PvP in IC.

No whine, just stating that my motivation is evaporating.
The problem with society these days is that no one drinks from the skulls of their enemies anymore.

I can understand the frustration OP, hopefully you just need to play a bit longer and adapt how you play slightly.

For me my biggest fear isn't the zergs. I'm sure they are terrible, but my actual fear is if i really try hard to take down a few mobs and someone uses that opportunity where i'm low on health/resources after killing the mob to engage me in combat killing me solo and getting 80% of my stones to them selves for a pretty cheap attack. least Zergs get diminished returns

That and also in 2 weeks these same topics will begin all over again with console release

Agree with OP - this was really stupid idea to link new armor to the pvp areas. This should be available for pve too. I hope they will do something about that, otherwise they will lose the subscriptions.

I rarely pvp'd before this. IC is fantastic. Pvp is fun there even for my carebear arse. The geography of the districts is awesome. Questing has that added thrill of coming across enemy players. Its quite easy to make it back with a few hundred stones at a time and bank them. Once the pve crowd gets over the initial fear of pvp, I believe this expansion will be a boon to the games lifespan rather than a hindrance. Just get in there and try it people, I've sold my soul to the pvp gods...I want your stones!

One question. Why should I give up any bonuses I get from stealth so you can have a "fair fight"? Especially when you can slot one skill (mage light or damage shield) to drastically reduce/or completely nullify the multiple skillpoints and gear I use to have a decent amount of crit or crit damage?

I hate the idea of IC. I despise the fact they are forcing PvE player's to PvP for new gear. Yes I know you can buy the new gear or mats but who wants to pay money for a DLC to not experience the content and just buy their gear? Buying gear is just as bad as someone just giving it to me, I want to earn my reward not have it given to me because I have enough gold.I hate How all PvP is in this game is a "gang" of people farming those with less numbers or ganking unexpected PvE people that are used to a controlled engagement with NPC's, not surprise attacks from a bunch of sadist looking to teabag you because they "owned" you when in reality they only "owned" you because they outnumber you. I will never step foot into the PvP area of IC but I will be buying the DLC for the very little PvE material added. There is a lot of potential with this game but you need the right people to realize it.

You don't need to buy the DLC to have access to the new mats and gear, just for access to IC itself.

As for your last sentence, this is a great sign of the potential of this game. Exciting risk vs. reward gameplay that is tons of fun either as a large group, a small group or solo. 90+% of the game was solo PvE (that was incredibly easy), and people have been asking for a PvP update (of any kind) since launch. The people I play with, this exceeded our expectations. Very fun and challenging PvE encounters, with the constant threat of PvP.
