Odd.My NB uses both a Destructive staff and a Frostbow.I never use the Res staffs,and she just rolls over everyone else so far.I see no problem as is..

I know what you are saying and why. It makes perfect sense.

BUT....
Do we really want to continue down the road where there is only 1 viable skill for healing, 1 viable skill for DPS etc.
ZOS cant keep shoving in quick fix "GOTO" bodges to make some kind of behemoth patchwork monster.
They need to get with the program and actually create balanced viable skills for all classes and builds.

I for one am sick of seeing FOTM clone builds as it is...but there is becoming less and less choice in the matter.

I know not everyone uses a restoration staff but ~most~ people do
Logically if you had restoration staff you would have more surviablity, but if vigor had a magicka morph your frostbow and destro would be ALOT better and wouldn't require restoration staff.

A strong Dragon Knight using hit reflective scales would counter your only healing which would be swallow soul I assume and sap essence cannot outheal the damage and if they had a detect pot you would be dead.

Swallow Soul/Sap Essence... Which honestly isnt a reliable heal.

Well both sorc + nb don't have class heals ^^ , they do have resto heals because of that there pretty must a must.

Do you pvp much? NBs heals are ***, utter ***. Sorcs got no viable class heal, and the entire point of this poll was to be able to eliminate the restoration staff from builds. *Wooosh* over your head...

My personal view on the point of this topic and all those similar ones: They (respectively their authors) just try to eliminate all and every distinctive playstyle. Magicka healing without resto? Roll a darn templar, mate. That's a big part of what that class is about. Stop taking every bit that makes a certain style unique and demand it to be available for everyone.

The only discussion about Vigor that has any merit to it is the question whether or not it should be a group heal (which I think should not be the case) and whether it should be the only stackable hot ingame (which I think should not be the case).

Sorry but I don't see the point that's one of the reason why Virgo is so popular and why some players cried to ZOS to amke it unlocked at rank 5 Assault is cause it was a stamina based heal. Only other one in the game is rally (momentum morph from the 2H skill line) and vigor is much much better than rally form larger heals and AOE heals so hopefully players will cut back on rally and 2H use.

Magicka doesn't need to have a direct equivalent of everything has Stamina has. They need different approaches to achieve the same ends. There needs to be give and take. The choice to go either Stamina or Magicka should not just be boil down to usage of the same skills with different morphs.

I agree with Nifty. I don't know why people say nightblade has no self-heals. Stife and Sap are great. Funnel Health is the most untouchable thing on my bar, along with Mass Hysteria and Shadowy Disguise.

That's magicka, what about Stamina Nightblade's. Soul Tether is the only one. Then we have to use Rally and Vigor.

If you want magical healing abilities then you should make your build strong in magicka. Seems to me like most stamina users want to have OP weapon abilities but at the same time think it's unfair they don't have access to powerful magical abilities.

I'd say yes, simply because i find that heals should originally be Magicka based skills.
(Follows the same rule as how i think Shields should be based on Health, instead of Magicka or Stamina.)

Heals and support should be based on magicka and possibly health regen.

Offense should be based on Magicka or Stamina + Weapon or Spell damage.

Shields should be based on Health and Physical/ Spell Resistance.

Would create the most balance in my opinion.
Currently you have certain builds being OP because everything is tied to the same stats.
With Vigor coming down to Rank 5 the same might happen for certain Stamina builds.
(I'm happy its coming down, simply because i now have an extra heal as a healer...)

I take back what I said about Nightblades but not entirely. Refreshing Path is a useful recovery move that doesn't require striking an enemy but it does force a morph choice and restricts you to the path to get the healing.

I suggest swallow soul to be stamina based. The other morph (Funnel Health) is good for a magicka NB (healer), and the other could support a stamina based char.

Well, equality for all. They take some of your magicka morphs away, some of which were really cool. So we take some of their stamina morphs. Additinally I want a magicka morph for all weapon, fighters guild and stamina alliance war skills.

Give me that and make auto-attacks scale off the highest value (spell-weapon power, magicka-stamina) and we have viable magicka based weapon builds

It is not choice, if no matter what you do, the loadout is the same (only using different resources). Choice means that picking one thing makes you have to chose what else fits in there. Choice means there is consequence of choosing.

Making all builds have access to all abilities actually makes the choosing superfluous.

TBH, I'd rather see a proper class heal.

Bonus heals from lines available to everyone, such as Restro, @Nifty2g , are tolerable at best, and Vigor (in either form) are just another one of those.

Anything that limits your other 4/5 skill slots and weapon choice is not a viable option.

It would be as if we said you could use the Stamina Vigor, but only when you aren't using (enter weapon of choice here.)
