Yes, they did an audit. BUT, let's do the nix hound for example, DSA has TWO level appropriate. ...Two....farm the is just stupid. No panty wads here, reality. If you don't know, then you don't know.

    Are you freaking kidding me!?

Well can we have a damn bank tab then for all this crap then? I'm forced to use one of my alts to store all of these things. Are all my trophies for my main stuck on that alt now....?

Why does this even bother ZOS?

Do you really want to grind DRAGONSTAR ARENA for kagouti and nix hounds when others can farm Stonefalls? In what universe is this fair?

After the age of 6, my reasoning skills progressed past "it's fair" being the conclusion of my consideration. This is my first MMORPG and one thing I had to learn right away was that there are changes ... inherent to the genre ... so protesting any particular change is pointless. Maybe it will change later (back, or to something new). Maybe it won't.

I'm lucky enough NOT to be OCD enough to "have" to do everything, so I get to choose.

I hate grinding, so if that's the only way to "get" something, I will shudder and then move on to the things that are fun for me.

My literal answer to any question of where would I grind is - no - I don't grind/wouldn't grind.

On a slightly more deep level - Would I fight critters of my level in general than ones where I was over-leveled? - yes, fighting challenging opponents is more fun for me than a walk.

So you are just here to pass judgment, not opinions.....gotcha....moving on.

Most likely they just checked the game code to see if monsters of the appropriate level exist somewhere in the code. For all we know that might mean that in order to get the collectable for monster X you have to do one particular vet dungeon over and over because the only place you'll be able to get it is from a couple of adds in one particular boss fight. Or maybe there's a single instance somewhere that you can only get to when you're on one particular stage of a quest, and that's where you have to try to grind for the trophy you're looking for.

I asked for them to publish a list of locations showing where a character of any level in any alliance can go for each of the trophies so that we can see if their audit was actually reasonable. So far silence.

If there's only one place to go for a given collectable, and there are only a couple of mobs there, or they respawn really slowly, or it's in a group dungeon or something, then that's not OK in the slightest.

You might have guessed that you're only half as pissed as I am.
And, i'm not that angry at the hundred+ hour "lost", but at the frontier that is crossed here.
Even f2p lighten this kind of grind when they add content, i've never seen that this way around. And on a b2p where I thought I would have fun and not have to see things like a chore or something.

The extra smile when I loot these thing? will be gone (especially if the same char get the same one twice), the extra frustration when I spend 700 worms + for one only 1 blue fish : already there, knowing the changes to come.

The result of this : is me gladly following my extra smiles to other skies. I suppose the auction house wont miss my perfect roes, but mine + the ones of all casual players who feel like I do, maybe that'll push plvlers to buy the xp pots with crowns? Is that the point? that or crown trophies like they did with motifs?

And if they changed this just for the "logic" behind the system, why don't they tell us if the drop rates have been adjusted consequently?
If achievements must be given to the char who "deserves" it, why not making recipes and books fragments character bound too?
At the same time if they could just make having alts completely useless and lose a potential great source of income from the very supported "let me buy extra char with crown" request , why would they stop from shooting themsleves in the foot?

Can I just request that the Trophy items don't take up space in your inventory? I think the fact that you can use that space to carry something more important is the main reason folks delete them or store them in their banks. I store all my trophies so not really looking forward to something wasting my inventory space.

I would totally love a hours.

I miss the Morrowind modded houses where I had multiple "display dummies" to put different suits of armor on
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

So if there's exactly one place you can go, and it's the last fight of a group dungeon, and it only involves maybe 2 of that creature you'd consider that acceptable? You really do have a problem with ever acknowledging that anything that doesn't matter to you might actually matter to other people, don't you?

I get the feeling there are like one or two guys at ZOS that everyone is afraid to question that reliably come up with TERRIBLE ideas and forcibly insert them into everything, because their ego is the center of the universe.

I hope that is the case anyway. That way maybe the rest of the company will grow a pair and stand up to them and reclaim this great game before it is too late, before the only people that remain are the handful of PVP sociopaths that botted their way to glory, before they make gear lootable in PVP as well, and provide an ESO-sponsored grind bot on the cash shop!

What would even be the point of this? There is no point, really. What an odd change this would be. It neither hurts my character, nor helps my character, nor improves upon the gameplay of myself or anyone around me. It would serve a single purpose: to annoy me. That's it; it's sole function as a feature, and only source of value at all, would be to antagonize the person behind the keyboard.

    What a strange proposition.

Sure we can choose not to do it. But why make something unobtainable without the use of mindless farming. The current method allows you to work toward this by "playing as you want". The marriage of being able to play the character you want AND work towards these dyes and achievements ALREADY makes sense. Making it NOT MAKE sense, why do this? The logic is simple.

I would love to know the reason behind this change. Gear can be used between alts. The bank can be used by all our alts. But no...not trophies. With all the bugs and quirks in this game....this is what they are working on? Whoever came up with this idea lacks vision and shouldn't be making video games.

    Hi everyone,

We’d like to provide a little insight and clarification on the upcoming changes to collectibles.

Currently, collectible trophies work differently for those obtained via fishing versus those obtained via monster kills. Fishing trophy collectibles grant the associated achievement upon item pick-up, whereas monster-kill trophy collectibles grant the associated achievement upon use. This difference was resulting in a high volume of bug reports and feedback in which players thought the collectible trophies were broken. That combined with the availability being limited by level-range prompted us to make the system more intuitive and uniform. That’s where the upcoming changes come in.

So what do those changes consist of? Here’s a short list:
    • All collectible trophies will now grant the associated achievement when the item is first looted.
    • Monster trophies will always drop off appropriate level monsters for your character. A game-wide audit was done to make sure that no matter what level you are, there is always a place you can go to work on collecting the trophy you are looking for.
    • Collectible trophies can no longer be banked and traded to another character.
We hope that helps clarify the changes. Please let us know if you have any questions!

@Aneima. This was the official response given regarding changes to collectables.

Because being normal, and just not sharing it across their account, and earning it themselves for each pixel is too compromising....MUST FORCE IMMERSION ON EVERYONE!

So maybe I am just burnt out at this point, but what I read from that was:
    • People complain for months about blatant macro botting, no response.
    • People complain for months about botting/grinding CP with no cap and no catchup with extremely limited "we'll look into it" or basically no response.
    • People macro botting/grinding instant respawns ruining what's left of the economy for months with no response.
    • People voicing concern for over a month about corpse looting being foisted on an Elder Scrolls game with no response.
    • Etc...

But this issue is causing US to get too many support tickets, so we'll fix THAT which isn't broken, and causes more inconvenience for players who may not want to have ANOTHER mindless grind on each character specifically when the system of just getting things as they come as you level alts and sending them to your main worked fine, and even had addons written specifically to help track progress.

    I get it though. Priorities.

Also I seriously doubt they were getting inundated with tickets on this. If so a canned reply seems simple enough. What I think they have been getting support tickets on are problems like with Fleshy Symbiont where the trophies AREN'T DROPPING, which is a REAL issue, not that people can't figure out what "already added to your collection" means.

Why? For the past YEAR I have enjoyed the casual hunt while revisiting content on Alts.

I swear, the past six months have been like watching the devs sit around a table with troll masks on snickering about who can come up with the worst, most customer-infuriating idea to one-up the last one.

I am convinced they WANT to p^%& us off at this point.

    certainly seems that way, sometimes.

obsessively, (or is it maliciously?), 'fixing' what isn't broken.

Going for one more effort on attention to this. @ZOS_RichLambert, don't let this happen please.

First, I despise polls where Other is not an option. It's narrowminded to think the options you choose are the the only possibilities there are.

    /soapbox

On to the topic, if it's an item intended to be found in order to get an achievement, then you should have to find it, not borrow the extra from your older brother or sister.

It's the difference between wrestling an alligator and keeping a tooth as proof, vs buying one at the local souvenir shop.

What I would like to see is the ability to click on the item under the achievement and have the description come up, without having to have the item in your inventory. This is for the monster trophies.

If regarding 'quest reward' trophies, they should be added to your collection just like anything else and accessible from the characters that have earned them.

Neither should take up inventory space.
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

IRL'ing for a while for assorted reasons, in forum, and in game.
I am neither warm, nor fuzzy...
Probably has checkbox on Customer Service profile that say High Aggro, 99% immunity to BS

I have the achievement, so this is irrelevant to me.
Hard choice which one I wanted to click more because:

1 I DONT CARE. It was handy, but also annoying that I could have a level 3 AD char with fish from Stonefalls in his achievement, but also kinda cool. In some ways, it would seem more fair for it to only apply to the char that earned it.

2 Once one char gets the achievement, it unlocks the color for all. Which brings me back to number one.
Power level to CP160 in a week:
Where is the end game? You just played it.
Why don't I have 300+ skill points? Because you skipped content along the way.
    Where is new content? Sigh.
