Auction house would totally destroy the game's economy.
I'm sure you will all love to catch Perfect Roe and the sell it for 300 gold.

That 52% want an AH and 41% essentially want what we have now(added "leave everything as it is" to "Guild Traiders")? Every single time an 'AH or current system' poll shows up, its practically ways a near 50/50 or 60/40 split.HaymakerXtc wrote: »The Poll Results Speak for themselves. I don't see the option I'd like to see implemented, so I'll describe it here.
I'd like a saddle bag where I can put up to 10 items in the bag along with the trade item I'd like for it. The items must be in the same class, for example a blue recipe for a blue recipe, or green staff for green staff. Weapons/armor with traits can be swapped for other weapons/armor with traits.
Then, an icon would appear next to my username indicating items available for trade. Anyone can "inspect" my bag and just take what they want after supplying the trade. No interaction needed.
I would prefer this system because if I should put a blue recipe for another blue recipe, but I already have it, I can simply add it back to the bag and trade it to someone else.
No hassles. No greed. Just one-for-one trading.
One can dream, right?
There's no reason why the original guild trader function couldn't work alongside an AH or other public trading system for those who wanted the benefits of the guild trader UI for buying and selling within the guild. It would in effect be the guild-based trading system without the trader kiosks in the open world.
ZOS owning a trader is an Auction house without calling it an Auction house.
The guild trader system has been the most fun way to date to buy and sell goods. I love shopping around and finding the off the beaten path traders with the lower price or finding the one trader at the hub that is selling the item I want for a much lower price. I feel like I am really shopping and comparing.
Auction house equals price fixing and matching and will ruin all the good times.

What you call the "low" price is actually the true value of the item based on supply and demand. Everyone else who is trying to sell at double, triple, quadruple the price (or more) is trying to gouge you. I don't get any "thrill of the hunt" from visiting 27 vendors to find out who's selling at market price and who's gouging.
The established sellers absolutely do not want the average player to be able to easily see what the true market value of an item is, or have fair and equal ability to sell anything. They have a vested interest in keeping their current advantage. And certainly those established sellers are out here full force voting to keep the system as it is.
