Haha, and that's exactly why we need an auction house. Besides, not sure if you played any other game with an auction house, but rare items still go for ALOT! It's called supply and demand

Auction house. This is the worst trading system I have ever encountered in my 25+ years of gaming.

Auction house. Let everyone have fair shot at selling. Yes , you can sell via Guild Store if you don't belong to a big trading guild. I just can't bring myself to "sell" to someone I'm a guild member with. I'd rather just give an item/items to them instead. Yes , I have done that. Besides , what if you're in a smaller guild? Items tend to just sit , no matter what it is most times. Even guilds that have 150+ members may only see a few actually ever playing.

I see arguments of people buying cheaper items in a global AH and selling them for exorbitant prices. Ok , so let 'em. When noone pays those overblown prices it'll bring the prices to a more realistic scale is all. I look at prices on console via guild traders now and amazes me that anyone would pay for them. Besides mounts , what do players use all this in game money for in the 1st place? Keeping guild traders? Bragging rights?

Don't know how the pc market works out but the odds of getting into a decent sized trading guild on console are slim to none. The ones making the fake money on console tend to think they're the 2nd coming and everyone should be lining up for the priviledge of getting in and selling through them. I guess if it's that important , more power to ya. I'd just be happy being able to maybe help someone new to the game or maybe time limited players out without raking them over the coals.

Are you serious? The prices will come down to a reasonable price for the demand. 25k for a single fish and 100k+ for a single psijic ambrosia shard on NA XB1 is way overpriced

I'm not sure which option I'd pick.

I've played a few different games with different trading systems (the one I have the most experience with is probably the worst - direct trading only, meaning both buyer and seller have to be online at the same time and in the same place to even find each other). I tried to come into this game with an open mind and give the system a fair try, but I don't think it works for me.

Like a lot of people here I'm lazy when it comes to trading - or rather I have no interest in it except as a means to an end. I just want to buy/sell stuff quickly and easily and get back to actually playing, not spend hours searching traders looking for the thing I want or figuring out how to sell my stuff for a fair price. Given the current options I simply don't bother with player to player trading most of the time.

If I assume that 'auction house' simply means any type of game-wide trading system and not specifically auctions (where an item is offered for a fixed period of time and sells to the person who bids the most within that) then that would be the obvious choice. But I could see ZOS having traders who anyone can use as a good option too because I can imagine the majority of items would be listed with them in order to reach the biggest market.

That 52% want an AH and 41% essentially want what we have now(added "leave everything as it is" to "Guild Traiders")? Every single time an 'AH or current system' poll shows up, its practically ways a near 50/50 or 60/40 split.

Its not as clear cut as some people seem to think.

I don't see the option I'd like to see implemented, so I'll describe it here.

I'd like a saddle bag where I can put up to 10 items in the bag along with the trade item I'd like for it. The items must be in the same class, for example a blue recipe for a blue recipe, or green staff for green staff. Weapons/armor with traits can be swapped for other weapons/armor with traits.

Then, an icon would appear next to my username indicating items available for trade. Anyone can "inspect" my bag and just take what they want after supplying the trade. No interaction needed.

I would prefer this system because if I should put a blue recipe for another blue recipe, but I already have it, I can simply add it back to the bag and trade it to someone else.

No hassles. No greed. Just one-for-one trading.

    One can dream, right? ;)

That system is even worse than an AH :p

I think leave everything as is. Except possibly improve search feature (maybe be able to search a certain word, or have 'favorite' searches). And of course, put some sort of text and/or zone chat into console, so people can find that one specific rare item to buy (such as a certain recipe needed etc), as well as the 'lazy' who just dont want search traders can just put out a WTB and have people message them with the item/price (which unlike an AH or Trader can often be haggled), or even players who do not belong to a guild can still buy and sell their items.
Other than these 2 things, I think the current system is fine. The economy on PC seems pretty stable, and Im sure console will get there soon enough. I hear on XBox NA, blue motifs are now going for 500g, big difference from even a couple weeks ago and Im sure will be down to PC prices in a few more weeks. And besides, I admit I actually like 'shopping' at the different traders and finding a great deal on something I didnt even know I was looking for lol

There's no reason why the original guild trader function couldn't work alongside an AH or other public trading system for those who wanted the benefits of the guild trader UI for buying and selling within the guild. It would in effect be the guild-based trading system without the trader kiosks in the open world.

Interesting concept..I'd be willing to bet that if there was an AH along side the current trader system, only those within their particular guild would use their own trader, the majority would use the AH.
Hell, I'd even pay 10%+ more just for the convenience of not having to go to 15 traders !!

ZOS owning a trader is an Auction house without calling it an Auction house.

The guild trader system has been the most fun way to date to buy and sell goods. I love shopping around and finding the off the beaten path traders with the lower price or finding the one trader at the hub that is selling the item I want for a much lower price. I feel like I am really shopping and comparing.

Auction house equals price fixing and matching and will ruin all the good times. :(

What you call the "low" price is actually the true value of the item based on supply and demand. Everyone else who is trying to sell at double, triple, quadruple the price (or more) is trying to gouge you. I don't get any "thrill of the hunt" from visiting 27 vendors to find out who's selling at market price and who's gouging.

The established sellers absolutely do not want the average player to be able to easily see what the true market value of an item is, or have fair and equal ability to sell anything. They have a vested interest in keeping their current advantage. And certainly those established sellers are out here full force voting to keep the system as it is.

To me this is part of a free market system. A player should have the freedom to gouge. The guild trader is somewhat masking the attempt because of the lack of visibility to all the guild traders in the system. I consider this to be a good thing, not a bad thing. It really allows markets to form at hubs that differ from markets in other parts of Tamriel. The price gouge is just part of the same system that you need to learn to avoid. Makes it more real market system to me.
