Crafting v16 - still 150 ingots???

I guess there is still a tread for this somewher, just didnt find it. How is that crafting v 16 gear still cost 10times v15?? I fully exected this is just a bug or mistake. If so please adjust the numbers before IC goes live :) if not, does anyone know the reasoning for this massive departure in crafting system?? Cause that means nothing but grind. And I for one despise anything that resembles grinding.. No i dont mind working for something, and I fully exect I will play IC a lot, but whyy would grinding be forced upon me just to craft armor?? I want to play for fun not thinking: "Damn I really cant go ganking or pvping with friends, cause I have to farm npcs full time if i want to collect those 1000 ingots I need to craft my armor..

Its to make it so that you don't have the next lvl of gear within one or two hours of playing IC, they want ppl to work for their gear even if its crafted. Its understandable, I would hate it if I could at the drop of a hat have everything I wanted from IC, then I will have nothing to look forward to and all the rewards I get are useless trash. Better to have some progression and time to get what I want so I can appreciate it even more.

I just think the gap is ridiculus.. and they managed to keep normal number of materials for highest rank of armor (v12, v14) till now, and I didnt notice any major problem with previous system that would explain this drastic change?

Oh i agree thats the reason, but i must say the whole crafting desing which led to that seems very short sighted. You have to grind to build white items for hours, but you can upgrade them to elgendary in five minutes? Shouldnt it be the other way around?

I still don't like it, it kinda makes crafting a lot less rewarding. However there are a lot of sweet dropped sets that will be easier to get your hands on, I think where it matters we'll be using them.

Btw geting skill to lvl 50 of crafting also takes time so if you r worried that you must grind for dropped sets but crafted you can get in a minute.. Crafters worked and waited a lot to get all the researche done.. So now droping a material grind seems strange jump in current crafting design..

Would be much better and also better recieved if they introduced new trait and increased trait requirement for new crafted sets.. material change just seems out of place to me.

this is ***... so much ore... this is going to be ruling out the "normal" player who is also a crafter.
As I thought ZOS always wanted to accommodate people who were having actual lives next to playing the game, I guess that went out the door fast...

And once more we as crafters are being set back over buying gear, yeah we can make it... maby around orcinium ?

So that's the trade off of ridiculous? One or two hours? Here's logic for you. One or two hours is one end of the spectrum. The other end is the extreme we are looking at now. What we have is you saying players want everything to easy. While what we're getting is developers stretching content so far to extend, create negative gaming habits, that's its ridiculous in their favor of giving us minimal content that occupies us in a maximum, unwarranted timeframe. I think Most people want reasonable implementations.

As far as you needing a carrot. I don't. I never will. I want to be rewarded in every way of my entertainment purchases (I'm an eso plus member) in the fun department only. I do not care if something is easy to obtain, because its dreadful on all levels for me to even have to obtain it, because I just want to be awesome in my roles as a PvE'er and PvPer. I don't need carrot grinds. I demand fun gameplay that doesn't dictate that Im doing it boringly, mindlessly, to get something... when the content isn't even fun...

@zenimax youre not making the gear harder to obtain by upping the amount of ingots to make one piece of armor you are making it more frustrating to craft your own gear artificially by making us have to contend with the idiots that keep turning the market in game into wall street. I agree with the creator of the thread make the price something normal ffs.

So 10X for crafted v16 gear but 2 or 3 runs for vr16 monster helm runs that are better than most crafted gear.... Logic

Don't you think it's fun holding all the items that drop in order to de-construct them!?

I don't think you're all focussing on the fun side of this!

You get to store thousands of materials in your bank just for a single armor set.

The provisioning revamp was done so this could happen and our bank wouldn't suffer too much.

By the way, it's possible to get 5k weapon damage using only one-piece Molag Kena, which is mandatory for all classes now.

All the v16 gear is Imperial City only, if you want 5k weapon damage and 5k spell damage, you have to go Imperial City.

Damage reduced by 50%? Well, pre-IC 3.5k weapon damage was normal, 5k will be normal with IC so whatever.

All Imperial City is going to do is make the people who are willing to dump gold onto gear and dump time into Champion Points even more powerful than pre-Imperial City whilst the casual players and more are even weaker than pre-Imperial City.

Wonderful. Farm up 10 champ points a day as you farm 200 mats a day [1 mat per de-construct] from the Sewer mobs.

They did this, because they want v16 gear to be hard to get, and it is. Either through loot or through vendor or crafting. Check the weapon/spell damage on v15 weapons vs v16 weapons, the jump in power there is huge, almost like from v1 to v10 (at the top of my head)

    I disagree.

This seems to me to be more about keeping players in the game by grinding than anything else.

And for the difference between v15 and v16 from what I remember it isn't all that great.

You do know all previous sets scale to VR16 now too right? Including some the popular ones such as VCOA helm and trail gear you know stuff players only have to grind 3 or 4 runs for while grinding for "X" amount of mats will take a decon of roughly a ton of useless gear and will most likely take a ton of runs and grinds to do.

Crafting has gotten nerfed HARD because of this and as stated above that Molag Kena shoulder and or Helmet will be the new VCOA helm and or shoulder since it gives a ton more weapon damage than hundings rage which again to make vr16 version of that you need well over 550+ materials to he helmet that only needs you to run a dungeons 3 or 4 times.

Which you think players are gonna use dropper VR16 sets that are easier to get or waste hours farming for mats or wasting tons of gold for materials in over priced elitest merchant guild stores?

still not worth the 150 ingots which should be farmed like every other resource, the gathering mechanic is just plain dumb, same as "chapters" to a cosmetic, which as ive stated before in another thread, which will be in the crown store in due time. where is the logic?

you build a staircase,at the 15th step you make this huge step to 16, but then right next to 15 you build an elevator to 16.

So reduce the rewarded TV stones by 10....and the Crafting requirement back to normal and consistant with everything else.
Or is this the because BIGGER is BETTER mentality ?

see heres the problem, everything scales up regardless if you craft it or not, sure we hit the vr16,but now we have scaled dungeons, which we dont have the scaled gear for yet,see the pattern? you get the gear before you go the dungeon so you can get the better gear as drops. not the backa$$wards way. you dont put the cart before the horse.

im compromising the IC content, i wont be going there anyways, but if i want to craft a set ive been making for the last 50lvls and 14 vrs, why do i need to go on this wild goose chase for some "special" resources that dont make the sets much better than what ive already been making.
