I can see the addon attraction.
I doubt if I could keep up with all the information on the screen that some people have, so it would be a waste to me to have it.
I try to run a minimal amount of addons. I turn off most of Advanced UI when playing, unless I am trying a new rotation or something. Most of my addons are related to commerce, crafting support and inventory. Although I still don't have a bank manager addon as of yet, I do all that manually.
I like no addons puts everyone on the same playing field and requires skill and experience to know your class and abilities.

There's lots of add on's that have nothing to do with combat. For me, they really make the game better. I go to a crafting table and bam, I can see my writ that I need to get done. Or a list of recipes I have and don't have. It's freakin' awesome.

Rather it be addons such as when to execute, when to drink a potion, when to re buff, or when to move from aoe damage to name a few; I felt I was one of the lucky ones to be playing on a console version.

Talking about fishing is there some easy way to learn to do it efficiently. I can't seem to do it..

Addons can reduce the game a lot to just a bunch of numbers and similar, telling you when and why to do things so you don't have to think for yourself. They're not needed, I'd suggest staying well clear of them. The grass is definitely not greener.

To each their own, I just wish there were better UI options already in the game so we weren't forced to rely on addons to customize our game.
