Client Crashes on the PTS

    I played on the PTS today (afternoon & evening) and while at the start TESOTU seemed stable for a while (unfortunately I did not time this), I had frequent crashes after that.

    At one moment I began to restart TESOTU after a crash (exiting the updater), however the frequent crashes remain.
    Tuning down the graphics settings has no impact whatsoever (from ultra to high, and toggles off all the special effects yes/no options).

    One time I could play for around 30 minutes, another time TESOTU crashed immediately after getting into the character and loading into IC (where the toon resides after the previous crash).

    Also had a couple of errors of network issues during the authentication, second attempt to log into TESOTU always worked though.

    Crashes does not only happend to me on the pts, but even more frequently on the eu live server. It's frustrating while you're doing group content and they have to wait untill you're logged black in again

    I play on a mac. I tried the editing the text file as suggested, but still experienced 5 crashes in the memorial district within 30 seconds of logging on each time.

    I just can't, I can't stand for 30s in IC without crashing. Yesterday I wanted to leave and it took me 4 crashes to go out bit by bit. It's getting really frustrating because I really want to test IC out.

    Don't have any issue with the dungeons though, just once entering those sewers I crash every few seconds in it.

    I used the fix early on Saturday and never crashed again. It's too bad they don't have a means of advising everybody other than the forums.

    Can we get a hint as to what this (un)does internally, just for us curious folk?
    Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    IRL'ing for a while for assorted reasons, in forum, and in game.
    I am neither warm, nor fuzzy...
    Probably has checkbox on Customer Service profile that say High Aggro, 99% immunity to BS

    Check the most recent ESO Live.. tword the very end.. I think.. They explained in detail how it prevented some kind of doubling of your character.
    Power level to CP160 in a week:

    It disables the black silhouettes of partially-loaded player characters. Setting it to 0 means players are invisible before they are fully loaded, instead of silhouetted.

    Looks like that worked for me. IC is even more awesome now without the crashes :D

    I can't even get into Cyrodil unless I try a few times, and then I crash out in 5 minutes. When I submit a ticket, they claim that they can't read my game diag attachments. Very frustrating. Get it together folks.

    But hey, its all because our machines suck, right?

    That is what I am seeing too, I was OK in the sewers but made the mistake of trying to go topside and it's now log in, crash, log in crash, log in crash, post to this thread and stop trying for today.

    Same here. Just launched a reparation, I'll see if it solves the crashes.

    EDIT : no change at all, crash after crash at the login step

    Got the same problem try to repair but didn't work

    The first time it happened I had to enter access code and when validating it crashed.

    I'm trying to download the PTS client again. But I only get 450 kb/s, when my bandwith can get up to 110 mb/s -_-#

    Client immediately crashes after putting in my login information. It requests login- finishes- crash.

    I am unable to launch PTS and repair did not resolve the situation. I removed all addons from addons folder, I had already done the settings change, ran the repair, re-launched launcher, crashed 4 times in a row after login but before character select appears. @ZOS_GinaBruno looks like several folks have same issue.

    I did that once and got in. then crashed and now same thing again with crashes at login.

    I was having the same crash on login issue.

    I think I've figured it out: setting Video -> "Maximum Particle Systems" to anything over 1800 causes ESO to crash on login.

    I've set mine to 1798 and I'm in. I hope this helps someone else.
