Light armor buffed, Heavy gets nothing?

From the patch notes 2.1.1:

'•Increased the per-level armor value on light armor by 100%.'

Really? Does ZOS even play its own game?

Light armor was doing ok, at least for magicka builds. Heavy, on the other hand, is terrible for anything but PvE tanking.

This is kind of like the time ZOS said racial passives needed to be balanced, but ended up trying to buff Altmer while leaving Argonians alone.

Seriously makes you wonder if ZOS even plays their own game.

    The mace/maul+sharpened fix alone is a HUUUUUGE buff for heavy armor.

    It would be nice if they added Stam recovery or a percent of your Stam recovery while blocking if you had 5 pieces of heavy on.
    PC/NA
    T-Bois (Stam Sorc since 1.4) - AD
    An Unsettling Snowball (Templar) - AD
    Bosquecito (Stam Sorc) - DC

    let's give this update a chance... the whole problem with heavy armor in pvp was bad penetration math that made it as good as being naked... they said they fixed this in the natch potes, so lets make sure we do some tests of sharpened swords and maces versus heavy and light armor
    PC/NA || Cyro/BGs || solo/smallscale || retired until Dagon brings a new dawn of PvP

    The original LA nerf was too big, I my opinion. Adjusting the previous giant nerf is hardly a buff. I gave tones of feedback that it should be lowered to 35-40% of heavy instead of 25. Looks like they finally agree.
    Ya all the other stuff you mentioned needs work, although they have noting to do with adjusting the 1.6 LA nerf.

    Heavy armor was crappy before people learned of the penetration bugs, and it will be crappy after it is fixed too.

    The problem with heavy has always been resource regeneration, an area in which it is just plain inferior to light and medium. They need to crank up the amount of stamina restored by the Constitution passive so that heavy armor users at least can tank in PvP.

    Yep. Just double the amount at least since it has a 4sec cooldown and the restore is nothing even with 7heavys.

    But if u look at the new sets. Heavy didnt get anything i would mention. Leeching plate COULD be usefull if the proc is not stationary and has no gcd. Otherwise we just tank in essence thief ^^

    Maybe La tankin ^^

    I don't think this will be recognizeable.

    They reduced light armors armor value quite a lot with 1.6. Let's see ingame how much of a difference this is. And with the mace bug removed, heavy armor is now viable. And now can also add 1 or 2 light armor pieces and won't loose thaaat much armor.

    He really doesn't, heavy armor was real bad for anything except PvE tanking even before people abused the penetration bug.

    Even with the mace bug fixed, wearing heavy armor reduces your survivability a great deal, because the tiny amount of extra mitigation comes nowhere near to offsetting the massive loss of resources.

    It is awesome.......never thought it would be that awefull but heavy armor is the crap. Even for Tankin in the new update.
    The Setbonuses lack usefull 5piece bonuses, and u only get 5-7k more armor/spellres compared to light in terms of spellres, and comapred to medium just a bit more armor.

    @ZOS_BrianWheeler : are u serious?!

    Thought leeching plate could be usefull...but nvm....

    Light didn't need a buff and heavy doesn't need one either, but medium has way more armor than it should IMO...
    Main: Breton Nightblade "Shadow Cleric" (Sustained Damage/offhealer) 5L/2H - Resto + S&B
    Alt: Argonian Dragonknight (Stam DoTs/Tank) 5H/2M - S&B + Bow
    Alt: Nord Templar Berserker (Rawr) 5M/2H - Dual Wield + Two Hander
    Alt: Altmer Sorceror (Pewpew) 7L - Destro + Resto
