Can't you pick one campaign with your DC friends and another with your AD friends? The changes to campaign rulesets should mean that all campaigns see more activity after Update 7. There's also still the Group Queue which you can use - if you are grouped, you can queue to join the group leader's Home campaign even if it's not your own Home/Guest campaign.
So still we will be able to travel to party leader between campaigns?? Confrim please. @Enodoc

This means if player A is assigned to Haderus and player B is assigned to Chillrend and they are grouped, they can queue to join the others Home assignment. They cannot join each other’s Guest assignment however. A lot of feedback and concerns have been mentioned about getting stuck in a campaign that you might not want to be in, and this change is partially to address that.
The main brunt of this change however is still focused on removing the bypassing queues or gaming the queue system of campaign assignment which “Jump to group leader” got around in odd cases. Joining your group mate’s Home assigned Campaigns via the Queue will be in place for the Imperial City patch along with disabling “Jump to group leader” to see how the effects on Campaign health and population go. Couple this with the Campaign rule changes and introduction of Imperial City, we hope to see better Campaign attachment and overall competitive play increased.
As a reminder, when this patch goes live, we intend to give all players a free home Campaign reassignment so you can choose which Campaigns to join with the new rule-sets.

This game is already unfriendly enough to alts without you making any changes to the way we can join campaigns. There is really only one active campaign on PC now and I've got characters on both DC and AD factions. I had to delete 2 EP vet characters in the past due to this problem, but since then I've given up and just joined off friends to get into campaigns.
Once this change is put in place I will have to choose between playing with my DC or AD friends. To actually switch to play with the other set of friends I would have to change ALL my characters to a different campaign which would take forever.
Don't think I would have a problem? Take a look for yourself....

TLDR: I can't join campaigns by traveling to players anymore and I have AD and DC characters. I can't play with my friends after the patch.

The whole mechanic of teh game is to choose ONE side and fight for it. Just join the same camapign as your pvp guild.
