Why don't you add more stamina versions of morphed class skills?

Why basically there is not a stamina version of each class skill in the game?

As a DK, I'd love to have:
- A stamina version of Ash Cloud
- A stamina version of stone fist - this ability deals physical damage, why is it a magicka skill?
- A stamina version of inhale
- A stamina version of fiery grip
- A stamina version of lava whip

Well basically a stamina version of offensive skills.

The idea would be, for a stamina build, to use the stamina skills for the offense and the magicka skills for the defense, as mean to well synergize magicka and stamina resources.

Just curious.

(I'd love to have an official answer, so we can better understand the design choices of the combat team, and where they would like to head to).

DK would perform nicely with a stamina morph of choking talons, or perhaps even burning talons-imo whip is to much (this is coming from a stamina DK). Sorc needs a instant melee damage attack- perhaps change the morph of the Splash Frag damage to a melee attack like surprise attack. Templars are in a pretty good stam spot, maybe make one of the spear shard morphs scale off stam.. I think it should only be limited to a couple stam morphs but it would be pretty healthy for the game since magicka is slightly better atm.

I think sorcerers need more stamina morphs before anyone else given the number of threads on the issue. However what is really needed is a 3rd morph for all class skills such that there is always at least 1 stamina and 1 magicka morph for each class skill. And potentially a passive morphs as well so that there are viable passives for stamina, magicka dps, heal and tanking.

Instead of giving morphs, they could just have the spells use the highest ressource on a character (and automatically switch to melee/magicka crit and spell/melee power). That would allow a lot more of possibilities.

I dont think that would be a good idea because some skills are good on the other morphs too and you want to decide what you want to have. For example the thrown spear from templars has increased damage based on distance but the stam morph has a knockdown. So I'm thinking about taking the stam morph since the magicka one is not viable for the damage anyways even with the 10% dmg increse since 10% more to nothing is still nothing

The reason they have stated on the Twitch lives why more skill don't have more stamina morphs is because that it would limit the options magicka players have. I can't remember which twitch it was but that is what they said, and to that I can only say. Why not just add a third morph?

I seriously doubt any of the devs play this game a lot, they have jobs and I doubt they want to spend much of their spare time playing ESO. This is why they said players understand the game better than they do, this is why they need suggestions and feedback from the playerbase.

Nice idea but eventually you'd be hurting magicka builds by taking away morphs options from them.

I think you need to be very careful which abilities you give a stamina option to, or stamina builds will become overpowered. Medium armor is better than light and it's easy to stack nice damage and regen stats, easy to keep buffs up such as major brutality etc. Imagine if you gave stamina builds the same utility that magicka builds have... stamina would end up better in almost every way. I'm all for giving more stamina morphs, just don't go overboard and be very careful which ones you choose. I'm no DK expert but a stamina version of inhale sounds kinda scary to me. :/ Also not sure how stamina earthen abilities would work out, if you had enough cost reduction and max stamina wouldn't they be close to free?

The ideal solution in my mind is three morphs for each skill. Two magicka and one stamina. The stamina versions of many skills can basically be the base version of skills changed to scaling on stamina. This way even stam specs can pick and choose what they want as a magicka dump for non-scaling or utility skills.

Also 3 morphs is not the same as 1 scaling off stamina and 2 off magicka. The scaling factors could be different, they could not scale but instead get a utility effect, they could scale off level or health. So just because a skill was given a 3rd morph that was intended for stamina users does not mean it couldn't be balanced with armour types taken into consideration.

There are 15 class skills, and only 2 of them have stam versions.

If they state that having 12 class skills instead of 13 that are magicka based would limit the options that magicka players have, then what do they state about the options that stamina players have with only 2 class skills based on stamina?

    Just curious :)

A utility/buff weapon. Destro has damage/CC. Resto has heals. Would be nice to have a weapon that buffs and assists with class skill focused builds.

There are really only 2 good options here.....

    1) Eliminate a specific attribute and allow players to CHOOSE when morphing if they want the skill to be stamina or magicka based. Problem solved. This would also mean if you wiped your morphs, you could choose again.

This will allow you to use every class skill as you see fit.

    2) Reinstate damage soft caps so we can go back to having balanced builds and not forcing us to gimp either magicka or stamina.

The simple answer is because then there would be no choice in morphs. Stam users round always have to choose the stam morph. Defeats the entire purpose of two morphs with different effects. Stam morphs was a lazy fix to the problem in the first place.

I agree, but the easiest solution is to remove stat scaling.

    No stat scaling means:

-you can balance your resource pool and regen according to the skills you use (and also armor type)
-health points are a viable choice
-shield spam, healing, and damage are less op
    -survival increases
-skill choices become not only less polarized, but function as a gradient of choices based on a players design rather than on cookie cutter builds

pls excs the sparse form; I'm lazy:

    A: Use a combo of magic and stam to power each ability build based on dual maxes and not too complex equation;
B: Give player a skill slider that alters (fudges) the mag/stam ratio to tweak a build that is set at respec.
violin! mag/stam issue dead!! personal choice triumpets! ESO best game ever! MMORPG GoY again!

    yeah, like that.
