Over 1 year later, we are still forced to download over 84+ GB data + slow download speeds

I was unable to find any "official" post from ZOS showing they actually grew up and learned how to manage data streams or utilize bit torrents to help download and patch their game. Instead, new and returning players are still forced to download over 84 GB of data for a total install of HALF the size! WTF and WHY is this still going on over 1 year later?!?

I seriously want to know how ZOS is the only company in the history of MMO games that does this. How can after all this time you still require players to download 2x the size of the final install?? There is an entire engineering and data management team here at Austin Community College that could probably help you resolve this, or better yet, teach your engineers and devs how to structure your data and utilize current technology like "bit torrenting" to help your players download the game in a timely manner.

Oh well, reviewing the past posts from a year ago on this issue tells me all I need to know, ZOS just doesn't give a crap, because if you actually did, you would have a much smaller download data footprint and utilizing better download management systems for your players.

I think you're misreading some thing here. Generally if a file needs updating, it will show the full file that is being update in space, and then parts of it are updated as needed. So a 2GB file may have 100MB of actual changes. So it will download said 100MB then start patching as phase 2. I've seen similar things happen in other games where people are thinking that patching a 2GB file means it's actually downloading 2GB of data.

ok, so do you actually know anyone or have an actual number of players that have this problem?

where did you get the i-am-d'loading-84GB from?

i'm not trying to bust yer nahts here, it's just that ive never heard of this situation before and never heard of the 84GB before. And there are zero helpful or confirming posts here . . .

btw, serving the file(s) over more than one connection is already done by some games/software - yes this would be nice, and probably safer than P2P(torrent) transfers at the end of the day (i'm guessing).
