Anchors. Whats the deal. Are they supposed to appear in the same locations ??

I'll see an anchor appear in the distance. Sometimes ill get to it in time to beat it. If I do it will go white on my map. Does it eventually just respawn in this same area over and over and over ?

It's a little confusing. Can someone give me the rundown on these ?

Yes, they just keep respawning every few minutes at the same locations, marked on your map

Yes, they respawn. You can redo them over and over but you will only get XP and loot from them if the mobs are no more than 5 levels below you.

Dark Anchors are in a set position always, but they "spawn" every so on (not sure exactly of the time) and you can do them again for more potential loot, exp or a chance to kill one of the "generals" for the achievement.

    Hi!

Well, I could be wrong, as I never actually compared, but you're getting the Dolmen completion exp only once. You can do it again if you want, but you'll only get the mobs experience points.

Yes, but the Mob Experience can add up, and it levels your Fighters Guild.

Also, there are a couple of Achievements that give cool titles that require you to grind out the Dolmens. One requires 250 Dolmens, one requires 100 Pins Destroyed, and the other requires you to find and kill 16 Daedric Generals that randomly spawn.

Its about 5 to 10 minutes if you just missed it. However there is a mechanic if the Dolmen has not been up in a while, it will go up as you approach it. This is not reliable as you don't know how long it was since the last time it dropped.

Note, if you take out one dolmen, by the time you travel to the next one, it will be going up. If you picked the right one of the two that are left in the zone that is. Anyway, once you find the right pattern, you can run them almost continuously.

I do know they also have mini portals that will open up in random locations. It's probably not random, but you just hear the portal open and 2-3 mobs will come through. You kill them, and then a stronger mob will come through.

It all helps towards your Fighter's Guild skill line.

Those are called "Dark Fissure" and they are NOT random but rather in preset spawning locations. They too have a cooldown timer before they can reappear.

Yeah, I figured they weren't really random, but there's a lot more locations of those than there are of anchors.

They also seem to repeatedly spawn if you ignore them. For example there is one on the way to Sanguine's Demesne from town. It will pop each every time I walk by it if I leave the Daedra Hanging.

True, and there's nothing to mark them on your map. Actually, I don't even know of any add-ons that mark them on your map, even though there are ones that mark possible spawn locations for M'aiq, merchants you can rob, etc.

    That's silly, who'd think that ?

anyway, If i'm not mistaken, the Dark Anchors spawn every 15 minutes, triggered only when there is someone at a certain range of it.

Yea they respawn at the same location every time. Kinda hard to constintly build a daedric alter to Molag Bal that allows his giant magical anchors to spawn at in a few minutes.

I never ran into a Dark Fissure in Cyrodiil but the AddOn works just fine there so my guess would be, yes ...

Just for clarification purposes, wanted to say that the anchor respawn time is 10 minutes on the dot.

I want to call the lifespan on an ignored fissure at around 5 to 10 minutes. But that's from just sitting around and ignoring them. I think they use the same 15 minute timer from shutdown that dolmens have, but, again, that's not scientific measuring, just, "well, did it pop again?" observations.
