Drop Racial Passives completely?

Just no, to me this is worse than asking for no "classes". You can play any role you want, with any race you want, there was never a guarantee that you can be the best at it or even as good as another...only that you can

Edit: I blame this way of thinking on Skyrim and not MMO's. You can play whatever you want, set to easy and faceroll through the game (my 6 year old does it)...now in a setting against other players that made race choices that "made sense" for their role(s) instead of "I always play xxxx", they want that same easy mode.

What is the point of different races if they have no defining characteristics?
You can roll any race/class combination and faceroll through the content in ESO, it's no different from Skyrim in this aspect. Racials only really matter to competitive min-maxers.

You'd be suprised at how much races mean at end game pve or end game pvp content.
Competitively, yes. But if you only care about completing the content, suboptimal races work just fine. I've no clue about PvP, I don't play it, but you have to be incredibly naive to come into this mode expecting Skyrim 2.0.

Removing them would be the worst idea ever...
Balancing them to be not too unbalanced is the only way.

    Nope.

But a race change scroll with a limited use on crown store would be nice.

    How about NO,

It's part of what makes our characters Unique and further separates us from just different classes.

^ I agree. That's my "i have another idea completely." Just friggin leave it. Who cares about 2% or some bs anyway... it's not making or breaking anything. If it is...there's other issues to be sure.

No. I like that races are different. I dont want races to be as boring as in Guild Wars 2 where its all cosmetic.

I don't understand the OP at all.

Each race, in ES games has always had certain passive resistances and strengths as well as certain bonuses. Why would you want to change that?

A Nord is resistant to frost, cold and has stronger health than your average Altmer. Makes sense to me. An Altmer is innately better at magic (particularly destruction) than a Nord. A Breton has certain magic resistances, etc...

What's wrong with the system in place? It seems pretty consistent to me.

Is the OP trying to say that he wants to play a Nord Sorcerer and have exactly the same advantages and disadvantages as if he was playing an Altmer Sorcerer? That a Dunmer Dragon Knight would be exactly the same as a Khajit Dragon Knight?

Sorry, but IMHO that simply doesn't make any sense.

They should leverage racial passives to help get a more even distribution of people across factions.

The way I see it, imbalance was introduced into racial passives as a way to sell more copies of the Imperial Edition. With more DLC's lurking around the corner, I'm sure they will introduce further ways to imbalance the system as a means to secure more profit.

How are the racial passives imbalanced? I'm curious to know.

Leave them as they are, and learn to adapt to the changing nature of MMOs without expecting every single aspect to be finely balanced.

    ^^^ that right there!
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

while I actually happen to agree with a choice this time around, I still say people really need to learn how to make polls correctly around here.
