Should you be able to pickpocket other players?

    I voted no .. unless you're able to retaliate and PvP said pickpocket and/or assist the guards when u get caught.

    I wouldn't mind this if there was a prison system, and we get the chance to apply trial by combat whereby the levels are neutralised for the purpose of the trial by combat. Maybe make it a choice between magicka only or stamina only combat to make the combat fair and interesting.

    Only if thieves get a pvp flag in all pve areas and you can loot everything apart from equiped gear once you kill a thief, while thieves can only steal a percentage of the gold of upstanding players.

    U ppl are too funny. Ur are ok with people killing other people and steal everything they have farmed but are against a skilled thief stealing from other players quietly.

    Nopes. We have no way to counter it, can't initiate pvp sequence to punish the thief when caught. Also if 20 people with 10% chance steal some small value every time you enter a town, then you would lose a lot in some time

    Who's okay with killing other people and stealing what they've farmed? I don't think anybody here is... not that you can even do that anyway, and for good reason.

    And that's why it'd need some severe limitations. No items, only gold. Not much gold, only a little. Not often, only once per day should it be possible for someone to fall vioctim to a pickpocket. And definitely with a PvP enablement.

    I'd like to see it, though I suspect it'd be too much of a can of worms for ZoS to open.

    I especially would love to see it in cyrodil, as alternative to ganking enemy players... just sneak up on them, pick their pockets. Get a achievement for it. With an title or such for the bragging rights. That sort of thing.

    (of course, there may be better things to spice up PvP with more options then "gank or be ganked")

    Quite a lot of people are against that.
    Still that only occurs in a specific area that everyone knows PvP is allowed in.
    Quite different from allowing theft in non-PvP areas.

    While I wouldn't mind a change to actually make pickpocketing NPCs worthwhile (as it's currently pointless IMO), Zeni would be kissing almost all of its player-base goodbye overnight if they implemented a system that would allow level 4s to go around stealing stuff from Vets. No, just no. It's wrong on so many levels. We don't need 'Robin Hoods' (or just plain 'Robbers in Hoods') running around jacking people's goods and then turning them for profit in Guild Stores.

    Sorry, mine's too full of trait gems, style materials, crafting mats, runestones, and a motif or two to actually function as a place to store anything "valuable"--or anything at all actually, all 110 spaces are occupied. Buy more space, you say? Last time I did that, it was gone in 30 seconds flat, along with all my earnings on that character up to that point. I like not to be broke, but I also like to store essential materials for use across my alts; it's quite the dilemma.

    If I want to keep something that won't stack with anything already in my bank, it stays on me. Hence why inventory space on all my alts is almost always a problem at some point. I'm constantly thinking about what's taking up my inventory now, so I simply couldn't imagine also having to be bothered with worrying about other players coming along to 'free up space' and rob me of my hard-earned items that my bank had no room to store.

    You can even roleplay this, just set Take (emote) to quick access, crouch near/behind an active player and use the emote... They're like oh noes my pocketses!

    This person is talking about stealing our armour, weapons, items - not stones. That's way different.

    With respect to using pickpocketing as a way to initiate PvP, it will work fine for all of 10 minutes. Then there will be troll groups that pickpocket some random player and beat them senseless when they get aggro'd. Unless the player being pickpocketed as a coup de grace all of the opposing players in automated one shot fashion then there will be players sitting in Stonefalls/Vulkel Guard/Glenumbra who will simply swap from verbal abuse in zone chat to physical abuse of fresh out of Cold Harbour players.

    If they had an opt in for this mechanism where a player can opt to have their stuff stolen then that would work. Would want it to be a toggle like the other justice toggles. That would be a segue to player duels when in the same faction.

    And don't anyone bother responding with "they could make it impossible to steal items from other players while within a certain proximity of a bank". There are so many other things wrong with the idea that would have to be accounted for in order for it to be implemented as a game mechanic; it would just get too complicated.

    Feel like stealing from others? Stand at a Vampire/WW shrine, target vulnerable/naive/desperate players, offer bites for a high fee, then don't deliver, take their money, and run off like a coward before anyone has time to report you. It's pickpocketing with the stealth factor removed.

    We would need a couple of safe zones and stealing from the bank wouldn't work as well. Besides that, a player could only be robbed once every 30 minutes or so, unless the thief leaves the loot behind. The loot itself could be based on what the player actually has, for instance a sorcerer with a staff would have some randomly generated staff in his / her inventory, a warrior a sword and shield, with the chance to also find motifs and recipes if the victim has discovered any of them ...
    Stealing would also need to have some serious consequences, it shouldn't be a walk in the park or possible to steal from your own faction, guild mates or friend list and require a specific type of skill setting.

    In my opinion its kind of sad that so many replies in that the are just a plan "no I would leave, its for ....". Just dropping your random insults is not discussing a topic, its just flaming and spamming and wont help anyone.

    I think one great limiter would be the enforcer system, not many people would be too keen on it if they could be apprehended, and lose more than they gained, which would level the field.

    Anti theft passives, and some way to reclaim what was lost.

    Also, limiting the amount you can steal per attempt to a small amount, and to a certain amount of times based on how many times that player has been stolen from, thus making it harder to do, and harder to abuse.

    I think it would be fine as long as the items and gold were generated the same way mob drops and current npc pickpocketing is. That way the criminal scum can pickpocket but it prevents the other player from losing anything truly valuable. It should also be disabled while the non-pickpocketer...umm pickee, has a dialog open i.e., bank, questgiver etc. The pickee, if they have been stolen from, should be able to inform a guard and get a small reward. Getting a reward from the guard, the same amount as the picker took, would help keep the balance of gold and let the pickee feel involved in the action (without engaging in pvp) and not just a victim.

    When I need a vampire bite or ww bite I get it for free all it takes is sometimes a bit of a wait. Also, anyone can get a free bite, if they have the patience so I recomand waiting until free ones come your way. Ps, don't let sand shark's eat you because they swim in the sands!
