Azuras is way too crowded, unless AD has sej there will be a constant flow of EP/AD and it would be very hard to organize it without the people who don't know what we're doing attacking everyone they see.
I say the Ideal servers would be Thorn/Chill.NPK Daniel wrote: »
Please do not do this on Azuras. Azuras is the most competitive server. Should this stress test actually affect the lag and incite server vulnerability, this will affect everyone. To do this stress test on a competitive server is very inconsiderate of those who want to actually PVP. Furthermore, you cannot test on a server that is active because this is not a controlled experiment. There could be large fights elsewhere on the map skewing your data and rendering it useless.
We still have a travel to player function. For the consideration of everyone else and the validity of your experiment, you should really consider doing this test on a dead server.
You two DO REALIZE this is on the PTS.. EVERY FREAKING CAMPAIGN IS A WASTELAND DURING PTS. And competition on PTS is pretty much useless.. they wipe it weekly.

Meah, it shouldn't take more than a few minutes to do. And hopefully we have buy in from other sides, or there's no point to try it. We're just not going to be able to rally a full 3 way pop lock on another campaign.
That just tells me that this is more of a publicity stunt than it is about actually helping people.
This was Crowns idea.
Also, it's gotten the attention of Brian Wheeler. I would bet the devs will be looking at the server to see what happens.
I understand you don't want the lag and want to be competitive in the campaign, etc, etc. I honestly don't think the small amount of time we are going to do this on one day is going to affect the competitiveness.
With that being said, I would like to thank you and all of Azura for the small sacrifice we shall all make this day while we summon the Daedric Prince of Lag into Azura.
Thanks for reading.
Your going to cause people to rage and quit at best, at worst you will crash the server. Not to mention you are going to try and flood an already competitive and often pop locked campaign with people who don't normally play there. I'd be shocked if you could even get everyone who wants to do this inside, let alone people who don't care for this to not come and attack you.
Take this to another dead server aka Chillrend where this can be an isolated test. You wanted to test meteor right? Then why would you test it in a campaign that has so many other variables going on at the same time...there is seriously zero sound logic in doing this on Azuras during primetime on a Saturday night.....
So.... I should put you down for "not attending"?
I see my point was well made.
Nope, not on Azuras or Haderus.Everyone who has posted in this thread knows exactly what will happen. Wheeler and everyone else at ZOS knows what will happen. Ping goes through the roof - game does not function.
The question I want answered is why they have to wait until a major update to put in fixes. When most companies makes a defective product they take instant measures to rectify it (usually). If the fix doesn't work they immediately work on something else. On here they blame Bambi.
Anything they put it now needs to be tested before release. It then again needs to be tested before the IC release. That's double the work, which means that either A. other stuff has to be pushed out and not ready for IC, or B. they just increased their workload further and won't get much sleep for the next few months if they are getting any at all to meet the deadline.

If they have a fix then put it out there on live. We'll test it. After all things can't get much worse.

I think we all wish it was that simple but the reality is that it's not. At worst it does nothing for lag and creates bugs/exploits with LOS checks and AoE abilities, something like damage going through walls like heals/caltrops do. Then they need to roll it back which takes up a lot of their time which should be spent on IC testing/development. At best it clears up some lag, but that's a big risk to take.

Well, we certainly wouldn't want them to put out a patch that creates new/more bugs, now would we. Based on past history I think we can rely on the IC to do that.

I've seen so many DC leaders show up, rage, and leave Azura the last few days...

Seems like a simple derp da derp solution... That could have been implemented forever ago.

The small sacrifice lol. As if you decide for the entire game. How entirely arrogant.
Yes it has received the attention of Brian Wheeler. But he's a smart man, I'm sure if he's legitimately interested in the results, he probably doesn't want ones tainted by the lag that was already present elsewhere on map. That information is not useful for anyone. What does it conclude? "A bunch of us used meteor on a pop locked campaign and the server lagged. Pretty sure we caused it even though red was fighting yellow at brk and there were large tri swords at ash."
You know what- just nevermind. I suppose it's just too complicated a concept for some.
Did this ever happen? If not. pick a Saturday when a lot of people can be there.
