Differs by the item I'm making, but a quick example, Ancient Elf swords are my favorite.

Most requested style from my experience is Ancient Elf, then Daedric. After them it's sporadic. If people don't know or care about style, i make Breton because it is rather neutral looking.

Thanks for the replies! I was just trying to figure out which styles everyone is enjoying on their characters!

My favorite by a long margin is the Yokudan heavy style, unfortunately, it can't be crafted yet, it's only found in a certain set.

Out of the ones I can craft it'd have to go to the Imperial heavy style, incredible looking, you can almost make it look ceremonial in certain colours.

I do prefer Breton armor, but with the revamp of Redguard and Orcish, my tastes are shifting.

    Sword - Ancient Elf
    Mace - Breton
    Greatsword - Breton
    Maul - Breton
    Shield - Breton/Nord
    Bow - Breton

    Helm - Breton/Altmer
    Pauldron - Breton/Redguard
    Cuirass - Redguard
    Gauntlets - Orcish/Redguard
    Girdle - Breton
    Greaves - Redguard
    Sabatons - Orcish/Redguard/Breton

The Orcish Gauntlets and Sabatons have a simple savagery to them; not over designed yet still unique.
Redguard armor has some detailed engravings on it, and the plate work reminds me of other armor designs I have enjoyed.
Breton is the closest to real world platemail, hence it is my default style for all things armor. But for belts especially, the small yet detailed buckles of the Bretons far surpass the gaudy sigils other races sport.
Helms are an oddity, as an even Breton misses the spot. The closest to what I desire in helm designs are achieved by Breton, Altmer, and the old Redguard. The new helm style is more realistic in overall design but the wide eye openings tend to break the deal for me.

I like the Orc heavy armor. I'm pretty new and haven't opened a lot of the higher level armors, but I like the facemask that is on the Orc helm.

How much do the rarer styles usually go for on Xbox? Every one I've seen is up for an obscene amount

During the first couple of weeks, the prices I saw for the rare motifs (purple) seemed to be in line with PC prices. I suspect this is because many of the early sales were by PC transfers. However, recently, the prices have soared to obscene amounts for even Barbaric and Primal (60-100K). I'm guessing this is because the console-only players have just started to find these for themselves in the veteran zones and think they're worth a lot since they've only just started to find them.

They are indeed rare, but PC prices for Barbaric and Primal are around 20-25K, with Ancient Elf around 30-50K and Daedric around 40-50K (at least, this is what I recall seeing when playing on PC, but I haven't played on PC since console launch).

I hate to see what prices for Ancient Elf and Daedric will be once these start popping up in the kiosks. Also, I've seen Imperial for 100-200K, whereas on PC, you can find for as cheap as 50K.

Now that I think about it, these console prices are similar to the PC prices early on, when many players didn't have these styles, so they will come down, eventually. If you really want a particular style, then plan to spend a good deal of gold right now. If you can wait, you will probably find it much cheaper a few months from now or will eventually find it on your own.

EDIT: To stay on topic, my favorite styles are Dunmer and Ancient Elf.

    Daedric. Hard, mean, functional.

    Nuff said.

What is yukodan? Is that a set?

Daedric would be amazing, but I can't afford it yet as they are all 100k+

Martial Knowledge, Way of Air and Way of Fire are all in the Yokudan style.

Altmer by far. Or Breton. They're the only two that look like heavy plate armour. Khajiit looks like the players are wearing tank tops and don't even get me started on the Argonian
