I've been playing pretty much since launch and just recently completed my first set of monster trophies to earn the dye (other than dwemer which is 2 pieces and easy). If people can just go buy those trophy dyes, then the achievement that takes long enough you count it in months or years can be bought for less than the cost of a cheeseburger has only one viable path to achievement and that's with real world money.

Does anyone actually have ALL of them?

Same reason as before. It's an achievement that is earned in-game. That hasn't changed. Having a sense of accomplishment in completing something and being rewarded for it, an integral part of such games, is not something sold in a cash shop.I am talking mainly about the ones you get for just doing national story lines.
Like I said, I am leveling a character in AD just to get a certain color from a lvl-25 area.
Now, I will get that throgh normal playing during silver/gold, but why wait?
The black you're looking for is Coldharbor Ash Black from beating the main quest, not the Thalmor black.redspecter23 wrote: »The dyes are rewards for in game achievements. The color I want if just a"basic black"...it really should be one of the beginning color available, if you ask me.
Yeah, ones that come with a "title", or are for completing something like killing every trials boss, shouldn't be included, and should remain "special"...and I editted my OP to reflect this.
I am just talking about "basic" colors.
The colors stuff comes in naturally makes we want to vomit sometimes. (lol)

Coldharbor Ash Black is the second best black in the game. Best one being Legate Black from pvp.
Maybe this will help

Alliance War ranks

And no, I wouldn't go for giving that one away at all.

Thalmor Black isn't bad, but it's still dark gray. Coldharbor Ash is a good, deep black, and much easier to acquire than Legate black.
The Op has a point with the storyline driven Dyes.
But if any other dyes linked to real achievements (by real I mean ANYTHING else linked to any achievment you dont get by completing the story or leveling)
Actually, even then, you get a decent black from the story and some off shades of grey from leveling.
No, Ive changed my mind, no dyes on the AH, its the only thing that could make me quit.
Consider I can still log on after a night of terrible server side lag in Cryodil
I can log on with no new content for (seemingly) months
This should give some idea how important dyes are to me.
The moment a newbie can make themselves look like this, is the moment I give up
NO.
Work for them. I will wear Slaughterfish Pink proudly when I get the Master Angler achievement. And I don't even like pink...

Nonsense.

This is obviously a false statement. Consider mounts; only a few can be earned in game through what we can call a game mechanics only due to lack of better terms. All the best mounts can only be purchased in the crown store.
Mounts are not rewards for achievements, not thus far anyway, so I don't see how the two relate. Mounts can be purchased with gold or crowns. Dyes can only be earned through completing achievements. They aren't the same thing.
