    Always.

    Definitely this.

Not going to lie, used to be a predominately PvE player before joining ESO.
Decided to take a chance with ESO PvP and, once I got my ego out of the way, it became a dynamic and interesting new aspect of the game.

Can totally relate to the fear players feel, and the desire to try and abstain from PvP completely. That was exactly me in other MMOs.

Turns out, I was cheating myself.

PvP, especially the random PvP that comes when someone tries to gank me at a quest hub, is the best portion of this game.

If ESO were pure PvE, would have left months ago.

But would you let the passive questers pass unmolested ?

The questers our group stumbled upon last night did not have the time to even press the emote button before the AP balloon was popped.

I have, but my doing so does not guarantee their safety.

Some days I role-play the Hero.
Some days I role-play the Bandit.

Either way, playing the game as it was designed, rather than expecting accommodation from everyone else.

No, this is why you don't bring a lute to a sword fight.

One last question though. Obviously level 10 is WAAAAAYYYYYY too low to go to Cyrodil, but, is there a more optimal level to give it a try and be really, really careful, say level 20 or 30 or 50 or V14 or with 10K CP?

Just wondering. I do want to give it a chance, but I don't play well with others. I get stabby and that gets me killed.

You have to bear in mind, no emote is going to change what someone is going to do.

Most that have some level of experience (translated: no longer getting their ass handed to them religiously) will generally leave be someone they do not consider a threat. So, make yourself not be a threat.

Engage first, and expect to get slaughtered, though. Problem is, you never know which kind of person that is until it happens.

So, always expect it's going to happen.

Someone's always near. Someone's always watching. Crouch, use the nooks and crannies the game provides (even in delves), and know that the next enemy player that's working on the same quest you are may not live by the same rules as you do (or may be vengeful as he just came across the same circumstance himself.)

The further you get from home, the more cautious you'll want to be.

Go at 10 and do the tutorial and get the skill points. Choose one of the non vet campaigns, for sure. Come back when you get weapon swap at 15. Grouping is actually your best bet out there unless you're really awesome or a sneaky ganker type.

I am going to do so. Both my Sorceress and my Nightblade are at 10 now and should be able to hold their own for a little while. It would be good to get the experience, since I've never done PvP or grouping before (at least not successfully).

Orrrrrrrrrrr maybe just the skillpoints for now.

If you wander beyond the gates, expect to stealth, a lot.

Just don't let your initial experience be your only experience. When you start to get frustrated, do something else for a bit.

Cyrodiil is best enjoyed in small doses, at first.

I'm new, so I'm just wondering.

I never noticed the 30 day message, but then I never even thought of going to Cyrodiil at L10. I only have two characters that have entered a campaign. Both of them after they achieved VR Ranks. And both of these characters were parked for about two months at L30 or so, so no way was there a 30 limit on them.

Um...its a PVP zone. I'm sorry to have to say this but...if you go to Cyrodiil you should expect to be attacked by other players. To expect a free pass to quest defeats the point of it being a PVP zone. If you choose to quest in Cyrodiil be prepared to defend yourself even if you aren't out actively hunting other players because...they are out hunting you.

As Merlin up there said, an emote is no guarantee. In Cyro, you are walking AP and an enemy to be killed.
Keep that in mind at all times :)

That said, I run mostly with a group as I'm no L33T type player. Too old and broken, don't have the twitch skills anymore.
I never played pvp in any game before but decided to give this one a try as the idea of a full on War (AvAvA) seemed different enough to give it a shot. I first ventured out with a handful of guildies as we learned what to do and how to play. I found I enjoyed it enough that I started joining pug groups from Zone.
One night, I was running with what I thought was a pug group and we were doing exceptionally well. Suddenly someone came in TS with an announcement the "Raid Night" was about to begin and only guild members could stay.
So I joined them and I've been there ever since, for months now.

These days, Cyro is about all I do as there is nothing new in PVE and the same 'ol, same 'ol of the mechanics just kinda bore me

@Nestor, @Denmoria , it's just a system produced email, so it shows a 'expires in 30 days' tag.

You can enter Cyrodiil at any time after Level 10, and system messages like that, plus attachments, generally don't expire (even if they say they will.)

Is there any interest in adding a 'I'm only questing' emote or a 'truce' emote for the people in PvP running quests.

I know it won't always work to ask your enemy for a temp truce but there are times when I don't really want to kill a lone quester but I just can't be sure he won't attack me for my trusting nature.

That's because there's no benefit to letting an enemy player go. They may be questing... they may be requesting backup to help take you down. It's hard to know, and most players make the assumption of self preservation (kill or be killed).

Wish they would do that :( That's what I want. Wish they would call all their friends and then we can have a niiiice slaughter *-* more, bring me MORE

They are far enough from keeps and strategic war points so its obvious when someone is there, he just minds his own business and wants to do pve content.

Alternatively, he or she is far enough from a PvE zone that he or she must clearly want to fight, or would have otherwise not entered the PvP map.

But feel free to insult people who play in the manner that the zone is designed for, as disrespecting and degrading others is definitely the mark of someone who is not "a total a hole."

That's why Cyrodil scares me so much.

    I'm a weenie.

    No joke that...

So no @#*&, there I wuz on my way back from scouting on the other side o' the map, sneaking the whole way to stay off the radar, and avoiding the main roads. When I was about 3/4 of the way back and came over a hill I noticed off in the distance some dude-bro popping his head out from behind a tree several yards away. He hadn't seen me, so I watched for a few minutes, then I noticed about half a dozen other lurkers dodging in an out behind the trees. Turns out they were all NPC bandits just waiting for someone to roll though their little cut. As there were cliffs on either side I was forced to go thu, but managed to trim out the outliers without being noticed. Made it back with out getting skewered.

The lesson here is that even beyond the other players the who @#*& place is crawling with hostiles. Get off the road!
