    Most likely next Friday (July 17th) during "ESO Live!", but what kind of information will or won't be announced and when the IC patch will hit the PTS is also unknown. The last announcement was that there would be an announcement in a couple of weeks, and that announcement was a follow-up of the announcement that there would be an announcement in July. Did I mention the announcement? It and some friends are coming SOON™.

    Yes they did. I expect the info Monday and possibly even the update going onto PTS by the end of next week.


    As far as Darkness Falls, some of the most fun I have ever had in any game PvPing was clearing out Darkness Falls when my alliance gained control.

    Although all of this is speculation, the OP and others like myself are basing our speculation on experience. Similar systems, similar PvE/PvP "special access" area, similar mechanic to access. My only concern is what incentive is there to enter, hold, fight for. DF really didnt have any real incentive to keep except for PvE farmers, the PvP fun was during the first hour of it changing hands.

    it honestly pains me to read the negative comments about the idea of Imperial City. Like others have mentioned before, a similar idea was probably one of the most memorable aspects of a game that has somewhat developed a cult following. My first ever pvp experience was in Darkness Falls. I was a little level 20something Saracen Scout who had heard that leveling in DF would be most efficient. After grinding fiends for a few hours the atmosphere changed. People were panicing, a steady flow of higher levels (not yet 50) were streaming to the entrance from deep within DF. Minutes later I saw a mass of level 50s all in magnificent armor and wielding weapons I'd never seen before. They were like Firefighters heading toward the danger and I honestly looked at them with awe. Panic set in deeper and all the low levels like myself huddled in a room near the exit portal. Then someone yelled out "HERE THEY COME!" It all went so fast...the only thing that processed was watching this short Lurikeen zoom into the room and it seemed he went straight for me. He one shot me but from that moment forward...i was hooked on pvp.

    For all your worries of what effect something pve'ish like Imperial City may have on Cyrodiil pvp...rest assured. There may be another Moe out there grinding away in a PvE zone just needing a taste of PvP to get hooked.

    Its good to see others have awsome memories from DAOC PVP. If the Imperial City is half as good as Darkness Falls everyone will be in for a treat, i bet even the PVE croud will start to like the excitement or danger sense.

    On another note remember that Camelot Unchained has been moving along by the creator of DAOC and is focused on RVR progression not PVE. It is about a year away now

    I figure that each faction is going to gravitate toward a single campaign they can control 24/7 for themselves. When the impertinent few actually get control to enter Imp city, the pop lock horde will quickly take back the keeps and reenter Imp city for their pve. As the impertinent few wait for the hordes return inside Imp city, they will be met with 40+ meteor's all at once,(inbetween the ridiculous booms of purge spam) sending them back to their login screen's before they can fire a shot and the horde will return to business as usual.

    With all the stumbles related to PvP this game has had, I just don't have much hope for the implementation of the Imperial City being to be anywhere near what it was in DAoC. One of the biggest factors of Darkness Fall's success was that you couldn't jump servers in DAoC the way you can in ESO. As others have said, there is nothing preventing each faction from avoiding each other by owning a campaign each.
    Unsubbed and no longer playing, but still checking the Alliance War forum for the lulz.

    I agree with the OP, should help the outnumbered factions a bit for awhile but in some campaigns certain factions might not be able to gain access because one faction has so many more numbers.
